I was walking hurriedly, taking big steps towards a dark alley, my footsteps splashing through puddles as rain hammered the pavement. The cold drops soaked through my clothes and trickled down my neck. My heart thudded in my chest as I constantly looked behind to make sure no one was following me.
I had been assigned this task, and I had to complete it. The air was thick with the scent of wet earth and distant laughter drifting from the mansion ahead. I entered, moving on my tiptoes, the marble floors slick beneath my shoes.
I went to the master bedroom, where he was—the man I was told to assassinate: the master of the Lorenzo Group, Damian. Security guards were everywhere. The thumping bass of party music echoed through the halls, mingling with bursts of laughter and clinking glasses. I needed to do this quickly and get back to headquarters.
I am very professional in my work; I have never failed a single task in my life, but I needed to act fast. The mansion was filled with people because the Lorenzo Group was throwing a birthday party for Master Damian.
When I entered the room, Damian was lying in the bed, and he was drunk as hell. I need to do this quickly.I already prepared the poison injection I just need to give him when I was about to give him the injection but he suddenly woke up and he pounced on me and tried to stop me from giving him the injection I could not shout because if I shout the guards would have come up and caught me and neither did he could say because he was extreamly drunk and he had also taken some kind of narcotics.
I was struggling a bit because he was very big and powerful, but I was a certified assassin and underworld boxer, and I was fighting him. He suddenly held both my hands and tried to put them behind my back, and I was in pain because he was a bit sober, and then I made my move and kicked him in the nuts.
Then I pulled him to me, took both his hands, and tied them with the rope. He was begging me to let me go, and he was constantly asking who send you, but I could not say a word about my organization.
When I was about to give him the injection, he said to me. “Did my father send you”? I didn't know who gave me the task to kill. I just learned about my organization, but I gave him the injection, and in nine minutes, he should be dead. I completed it.
I messaged my boss, I have done it, and I am coming back. I jumped from the balcony and landed in the back of the garage, then I heard a loud voice from the room. The master is dead someone caught the murderer. Look, she is walking behind the dark alley, and the five guards are walking behind me.
I was literally running like a marathon runner but somehow the guards cornerd me and I can’t do anything because they were five guards and I am the only one girl. They punch me in the stomach then grabbed my hair and the pushed me against the wall and started to harass me and they were saying that little girl ‘’You are not going anywhere tonight you will be our feed and then our dogs’’.
I started shaking, certain I was about to die, but then a sudden beam of light pierced the darkness. I squinted, blinded for a moment, until I saw him—my boss, Chris, standing tall at the mouth of the alley.
The guards turned, startled by the interruption. Chris’s eyes were cold and sharp, his presence commanding. Without hesitation, he stepped forward. One of the guards lunged at him, but Chris dodged easily, grabbing the man’s arm and twisting it behind his back. The guard yelped in pain and crumpled to the ground.
Another guard charged, but Chris sidestepped, delivering a swift punch to the gut, followed by an elbow to the jaw. Two more came at him together; Chris swept one’s legs out from under him and sent the other sprawling with a fierce kick. The last guard hesitated, fear flickering in his eyes, but Chris advanced, grabbing him by the collar and slamming him into the wall.
The five men groaned on the ground, defeated. Chris turned to me, his expression softening. He reached out a hand to help me up, his voice steady and reassuring. “You’re safe now,” he said. “Let’s get out of here.”
He held me in his arms, and I literally passed out in his arms. He took me back to the headquarters and took me to my room and cared for me the whole night, and then the flashback hit my mind about how I ended up in this situation.
