Mama Xia saved her from the arson back then before the inn collapsed. She was passing by coincidentally and took her out of pity. The thing is, she had been living in the Central Plain for years because of an unknown reason which is why Gu Lianzhu grew up in Central Plain.

Royal Master - highest authority Royal Princess/Prince - 2nd in authority, somewhat called either Royal Princess/Prince or Royal. There is only one after selection. Example a random boy was chosen to be a "royal" he shall be called Royal Prince High Elder - 3rd in command but whether the "royal" want the authority or not he/she will decide it. There are also rules such as: 1. No kingdom is allowed to interfere in the matters of the academy. 2. Entering the academy means abandoning your status or whatever identity you have outside the academy. Using the status outside the academy when entering is long forbidden. 3. No one is allowed to kill. -but usually students who kill even the higher ups usually present it as accident. As long as no one complained or no evidence was found, the council will not interfere. 4. No killing the higher ups -every official that governs the academy has magic installed with them, where in whoever killed them will be persecuted by the academy and the kingdoms. it can also be identified which is why choosing the position is the fairest and long famous tradition of the academy.
