Narrator's pov

This is where my story begins, 1st of September 2030...

In a large robotics tech facility.

A man dressed in a suit sat in his office looking at some papers in a stern manner. He looks up at his assistant catching her attention.

Mr Rogeren: Zelda! Call me Isabel and Nathan, I need to talk to them.

Zelda: Yes sir.

She leaves and immediately returns with two people behind her whom were getting out of their lab coats.

Mr Rogeren: (smiles) Mrs Einstein.

Isa: Greetings sir.

Mr Rogeren: Mr Einstein.

Nathan: Greetings sir.

Mr Rogeren: Are you two aware of why I summoned you?

Isa: I'm pretty sure we do.

Mr Rogeren: Good, so how's the project coming along?

Nathan: Two years of building and programming totally worth it.

Mr Rogeren: Fantastic, let me see it.

Isa: But we haven't imputed the power source yet.

Mr Rogeren: Oh really? Well we better get to it, no time like the present.

They leave the office and walk down the hallway to room 12, Isa puts her ID card and the door opened up.

Inside the room a human looking robot laid on a bench with it's eyes closed and chest open.

Mr Rogeren: This is the final?

Nathan: Yes sir, just need to add the power source they'll run on and they should be good to go.

Mr Rogeren: Fantastic.

Isa put on some gloves while Nathan opened up a small box which had a glowing blue artifact in it.

Isa: (picks the artifact with a pair of pliers and carefully places it into the robot's opened chest).

Nathan: Easy.

Isa: I know what I'm doing.

After the artifact is placed, Isa closes the chest compartment then blue energy surges through the robot before the eyes then open.

I looked at myself carefully in the reflective object in front of me, Blue eyes, black scleras, platinum blue hair and blue skin stared back at me.WHO AM I?

I turned around and saw three figures stare at me, they looked at me in awe and I became scared.

Nathan: It's alive.

Isa: Don't be scared, we're not dangerous.

Bionia: Kinda hard to tell.

Isa: (smiles) Well, my name's Isabel, this is my husband Nathan and our boss Mr Roderick Rogeren.

I looked from Isa, to Nathan, to the boss man but I still didn't feel at ease. Isa then moved closer to me and I moved back looking around uneasily feeling unsafe and vulnerable.

Isa: It's okay bionia. No harm will come to you while we're here.

Isa was closer to me and noticed my uneasiness. She pulled me closer to her and wrapped her arms around me, I didn't know this jester but I felt calmer in this action, I put my arms around her mimicking it. The embrace was warm and calming.

Mr Rogeren: It's perfect, what a masterpiece. But why is it all...

blue?

Nathan: First of all it has a gender. And second of all it's probably just an effect of the power core, you are very much aware that it's an alien item.

Mr Rogeren: Yes, yes, but can you fix it. We need her to blend in with the humans.

Nathan: Yeah hold on.

I watched Nathan go to a drawer nearby and searched through the content before bringing out an item.

He then turned and walked towards me crouching a bit.

Nathan: Hello bionia.

Bionia: Hi.

Nathan: Now this thing over here is called a smartwatch. You are to wear it on your wrist at all times okay?

Bionia: okay.

He put the watch around my wrist then my blue skin transitioned into a cream colour like that of a human. I looked back at the reflective object on the wall and noticed my scleras where white and my eyes normal, and my hair black, I looked like a human now.

Bionia: Wow.

Mr Rogeren: It's perfect.

Nathan: They're not an it, they may be a robot but their still non binary.

Mr Rogeren: I've heard, it was a slip of the tongue. Now we can start.

Isa: (nervous) Um, I don't think they're ready yet, I mean they were just born.

Nathan: She still needs to fit in among us humans and learn their ways.

Mr Rogeren: Bionia, excuse us adults for a moment.

Bionia: Yes sir (moves to a corner).

Mr Rogeren: You two are very much aware that the faith of the earth rests in the hands of that machine, which is why we built her for that purpose in the first place.

Nathan: We also built her to act, function, and behave like one meaning she'll need to adapt and learn just like a normal human tween.

Isa: So until then, she's in no position to defend, she'll need to go through all stages in life like a normal child to develop a personality, interests, hobbies, etc.

Mr Rogeren: (laughs) okay then, why don't you two adopt them and parent them on to the right path.

Nathan: Excuse me sir?

Mr Rogeren: I'm serious, I mean you two have been married for like five years and no children.

Nathan: There was no time for all that, we've been working on bionia since then.

Mr Rogeren: Well this is your chance to feel the joy of parenting, they'll be a fast learner since they got your ancestor's brain, literally.

Nathan: Using Albert Einstein's surviving brain pieces was my idea.

Mr Rogeren: Oh and (whispers) don't try to get attached, they might end up sacrificing themselves for the earth.

Isa/Nathan: (neutral) Yes sir.

Mr Rogeren: (exits).

Bionia: What's going on?

Isa: (smiles) oh nothing dear. Today, you'll be coming home with us.

Bionia: Really, why?

Nathan: So you can get a glimpse of the outside world and learn to interact with humans, no doesn't that sound fun?

Bionia: Sounds amazing.

Nathan: That's the spirit, now come on.

Isa and Nathan took me out of the room then outside and I was welcomed with a bright light.

Bionia: ACK!!!

Nathan: Relax, it's just the sun.

Bionia: It burns and I can feel it.

Isa: Don't worry, you'll get used to it.

They took me to their neutral transportation device which humans call a car and drove for like 35 minutes to their place of dwelling called A HOME.

Bionia: WOW (unlocks the car and jumps out) This place is awesome!

Isa: It's a simple cozy home.

Bionia: I get to stay here? Double Awesome!

Nathan: You can tour around the neighborhood if you want.

Isa: Just don't wander to far.

Bionia: M'kay.

I skipped out of our yard and went to the nearby street, as I was walking I bumped into someone and fell to the ground.

???: Oh my gosh, I am so sorry.

I looked up and saw a human, obviously, They had dark skin and black hair, and their accent wasn't like that of the humans I've seen so far.

???: Are you alright? Did I hurt you?

Bionia: (stands up) It's fine, I'm fine.

???: Phew, thank God. I'm Kori Cameron by the way, people call me KC, my pronouns are They/Them.

Bionia: Hello KC, I'm bionia, pronouns She/They.

KC: I've never seen you here before, are you new?

Bionia: I live with my parents Isa and Nathan einstein, I wasn't always outside until now.

KC: Wow, you're an Einstein? You must be very smart just like the rest of the families.

Bionia: I guess so.

KC: (smiles) Good to meet you bionia, i was just coming from a friend's place, I live six houses down the street, we could talk more if you wanted.

Bionia: Sure, love to.

KC: Nice, anyways I gotta get going, see ya (runs off).

I liked them, they seemed so lively, I wondered if there were any other kids in our neighborhood.

As I turned around to go back to my new home I glanced over the fence of the house next to mine. A boy marched out of his house angrily and said some words I didn't here to an invisible person before slamming the door and sitting on the ground trying to calm himself down with music.

As I watched him, he looked my way and was frightened for a split second.

Boy: Who the heck are you?

Bionia: I'm bionia, what about you?

Boy: Err, max?

Bionia: Nice to meet you max.

Max just stared at me with a look which I sensed to be annoyance and disgust.

Bionia: Did I offend you in any way?

Max: You will if you keep looking at me like that, and don't bother trying to befriend me, I'm not open for that.

He looked the other way as if I was never there. I just turned around and walked back home. Although I felt my chest hurt yet I didn't blame him days later for his rude behaviors. He was a MIDDLE CHILD.

Isa: Bionia! Come downstairs, we wanna talk to you about something.

Bionia: Coming mom!

I jumped off my bed and zoomed downstairs were I met Isa and Nathan, now my parents, standing with smiles on their faces. Isa had folded garments in her hands while Nathan was holding a backpack.

Isa: Hey, guess what.

Bionia: What?

Nathan: Since you ought to behave like a normal human tween, we got you enrolled into a nearby school, just so you can fit in among others.

Bionia: Well this was sudden.

Nathan: Well we're informing you now ( hands them the clothes and backpack) come go get changed and meet us outside.

Bionia: Okay.

I rushed upstairs quickly changing into the uniform and shoes then rushed back downstairs grabbing my new backpack and sprinting outside to where Isa and Nathan parked the car.

Isa: Well that was fast.

Bionia: I'm speedy.

Isa: I hope you're ready to go, do you wanna eat before we leave?

Bionia: Na, I'm good, let's go!

I hopped into the back car seat as they entered the front seats and we were off.

I felt so excited to meet more human kids to mingle around with, I hoped they were as nice as KC and hopefully not like neighbor boy max.

After a while we finally got to the school. Nova Public Middle School, one of the many schools in Florida.

It's best known for its high tech computer facilities for enhance learning while still keeping normal learning methods like books.

I hopped out of the car looking in awe at the school then turned to Nathan and Isa who were still in the car.

Bionia: How do I look?

Isa: (smiles) Gorgeous!

Nathan: Have a good day, don't cause trouble with anyone and don't forget to keep on your disguise so no one finds out that you're an Android, got it?

Bionia: Got it, see you!

Nathan: Later!

With that, the two drove of and I marched into the school with my backpack strapped around my shoulder. The moment I walked in I saw dozens of students walking around the hallway chatting, I froze. Dang, I felt so out of place, is this what being a new kid felt like?

While I was still standing I heard something beep beside me, as I jumped I saw a small blue robot hovering next to me.

Blue robot: Greetings student, are you bionia Einstein?

Bionia: Umm, yes.

Blue robot: (beeps happily) Hello and everyone to your first day of school, I'm your personal assistant to help you get through the day.

Bionia: Wow, sounds cool.

Blue robot: Come, let me show you to your locker.

Blue robot took me to a long wall of lockers opening one of them which had some books, stationeries, and a laptop.

Blue robot: Your locker combination is 2010, this is your personal school laptop to which I am linked to so teachers can send you assignments and projects and to get notified on upcoming events and other special announcements.

(BELL RINGS)

Blue robot: That's the bell, you better be heading to class, you have mathematics this morning, second class down the hall.

I put the laptop, some books and the stationeries in my bag, pet blue robot and walked down the hall to my math class, as I walked in I noticed a familiar face.

Bionia: KC?

KC: Bionia! I never knew you attended Nova.

Bionia: It's my first day.

KC: Well don't worry, I'll be here to guide you through like the good friend I am. Come on, there's an empty chair by me, you can sit there.

KC escorted me to my new seat and I sat down putting my bag on the desk. As KC sat on her seat, I noticed another familiar face neck to her.

Bionia: Hey, maximus, how's it going?

Max turned to me on hearing his name and groaned.

Max: Urgh, what are you doing here?

Bionia: Attending school.

Max: (to KC) You know her?

KC: Met them yesterday when I was passing by your place.

My eyes suddenly shifted to the classroom door as a teacher entered.

Teacher: Good morning class.

Students: Good morning sir.

Teacher: Well, my name is Mr Florence and I am your math teacher. Before we begin I suggest an introduction, I already notice some familiar faces from the time I taught you in the 6th grade so if you're new to the school, please stand up and introduce yourselves (picks up a stylus) Also, write your name on the e-board so we'll know how to pronounce it better.

I watched as kids one after the other stood up and wrote their names on the e-board and introduced themselves.

Hello, my name's maria devenson.

My name is James Charles.

Hi, I'm Shantea Macaulay.

Hey, I'm Ravi shivagami.

I'm Nancy drew...

Soon it was my turn and I went up and drew

BIONIA AJA EINSTEIN

and

बायोनिया अजा आइंस्टीन .

Everyone looked at the board confused at the symbols I drew below my name.

Bionia: Hello everybody, My name is Bionia aja einstein, Incase you're wondering, this is my name in Hindi since my mom is Indian and my dad is German.

Student: I never heard of the Einstein's having a kid?

Bionia: I had a, let's say secretive life.

Student 2: What elementary school did you attend?

Student 3: Are you as smart as your parents?

Student 4: What's it like being in a legendary family.

Student 5: Do your parents have robots roaming around your house?

Mr Florence: Alright students settle down. Mr Einstein, you can go back to your seat now.

Bionia: Alrighty.

Mr Florence: Now on to the business of the day ( scribbles on the e-board) but first, who can solve this equation?

Suddenly everyone reacted as if they'd seen the end of the world.

Mr Florence: Seriously, no one?

Student: Sir, are you sure this equation is even meant for our grade level?

Student 3: I've never seen such formation of numbers and letters before.

Mr Florence: (Rubs his face angrily) Dear lord.

Bionia: I can try.

All eyes were on me as Mr Florence handed me the stylus and I walked towards the board and solved the equation with ease and everyone was amazed. I was putting those Einstein brain cells to good use.

Mr Florence: Fantastic work Einstein.

Bionia: Thank you sir.

???: (scoffs) so just because you got Einstein level IQ you wanna make the rest of us look like we're dull.

I spun around locating where the voice came from and saw that it was a girl.

And not just any girl, Hailey Harvey. The smartest, well second smartest, student of our set. According to everyone she was a genius who aced all her classes with ease and was the top of the class, until I pushed her off that spot.

Bionia: Then why couldn't you come up to solve it?

Hailey: It's my first day, and I still got alot of topics in various subjects to study so this is new to me.

Bionia: (smirks) well then, since you're so smart, how about a riddle to test your IQ.

Hailey: (scoffs and folds her hands) alright, shoot.

Bionia: Two people drink a cocktail, one dies while the other survives, how?

Hailey froze on hearing the question, then started to rack her brain.

Bionia: Times ticking Harvey.

Hailey: Give me a minute.

Bionia: You got five seconds.

Hailey: Wait what!

Bionia: 4

Hailey: Calm down Einstein!

Bionia: 2, 1, times up.

Hailey: Oh yeah, then what's the answer smarty?

Bionia: It's easy, the poison was in the ice cube and the survivor drank the cocktail fast before the ice could melt.

With that I went back to my seat feeling a bit proud, I had embarrassed Hailey in front of the class and she was not happy. She stood up, marched to my seat and slammed her first on my desk.

Hailey: Be warned Einstein, I have lots of enemies, and you wouldn't wanna be added to the list because you don't wanna know the things I do to my haters and if you're one of them I'll show you no mercy.

Mr Florence: That's enough, Hailey to your seat, now let's continue with class.

Did girl just threaten me? Although back then I saw it as just a way to scare me, but it wasn't until years later I knew what Hailey was capable of.

The bell rung for the fifth time today and all students marched to the school cafeteria for lunch. I skipped through the doors with KC and max behind us as we grabbed trays and ordered our meals and took a seat to eat.

KC: So, enjoying your first day so far?

Bionia: It's been amazing, so much I have learned, school is the best place to be.

Max: Odd words coming out of the mouth of a 21st century kid.

Bionia: Was it offensive?

KC: Don't mind him, he's just trolling you.

  As we ate, the sound of a tray being knocked over was heard, everyone in the cafeteria including us glanced at the direction of the sound. The action was carried out by a boy from our grade, who had two other boys backing him up, against an Indian boy whom was a new student.

Bully: Dude, I don't take things for granted, if you knew the reputation I had here, you would know not to mess with me.

Indian boy: But I did no wrong to you, why do you choose to torture me?

Bully: I told you I wouldn't let you go sort free after you told the teacher that we were playing with my Nintendo during class.

Indian boy: It's wrong and I had to tell.

Bully: (mimics him) It's wrong and I had to tell, that's how you sound like!

Bully 2: Teach him a lesson he'd never forget.

Bully 3: Yeah do it!

Bully: (cracks his knuckles) After this, you will know to keep your mouth shut.

  I couldn't watch that kid get beating up for doing the right thing, so I stood up walking to the bully and tapped him on his shoulder. He turned around looking at me with confused.

Bully: What do you want?

Bionia: Beating up your fellow mates is against school rules, he didn't do anything bad to you so there's no need to establish dominance just because you had your game seized when you know very well that you aren't allowed to bring such items to school.

  All eyes were on me and the bully looked much angered than before.

Bully: You better stay out of this or else you want your share of the punishment, you're lucky I don't hurt girls.

Bionia: Technically, I'm non-binary.

Bully: (grins) Alright then.

  The bully raised his fist and delivered a swift punch my way but thanks to my robotic instincts I reacted quickly and caught the punch, twisting his hand which made him yelp in pain, and kicked him away which sent him falling onto his back.

Bionia: If you're student of this school,  as long as you wear that uniform, you gotta abide by the rules, since no one's  around to enforce them I'll do it myself.

   The bully by now was already scared, his friends rushed to him and helped him up then they ran of the cafeteria. I turned towards the Indian kid, my serious face turning back to my bright face with wide smile. I stretched my hand towards him as he took it and I helped him up, he was taller than me but who cares.

Indian boy: Thanks.

Bionia: No prob, I'm bionia btw.

Indian boy: Ravi, Ravi shivagami.

Bionia: You seem lonely.

Ravi: Hard time making friends on the first day.

Bionia: Come sit with me and my friends then.

  I lead Ravi back to where KC and max sat, eyes still on us as we sat down.

Max: What a show you put on.

KC: It was amazing! You stood up to Zane draun, no one has ever done that since the first grade. He always has a high ego just because his family is among the richest in our school.

Bionia: If he's so rich what's he doing in a public school? I don't like seeing people tortured, it activates something in me.

Ravi: Well, yet again I thank you.

Bionia: Yet again no prob.

Ravi: (laughs).

  I was cooking on my first day and I loved it.

  By the time school closed me, KC, Ravi and max had already formed into a group. We went home together since our houses are in the same neighborhood. Ravi's was closest to school, followed by KC's which was some stone throws away from me and Max's.

  When I got home that day, I saw some luggages placed outside the house which got me curious. I went inside and saw Isa on her computer while Nathan was putting some stuff together in a box.

Bionia: Hey, I'm home!

Isa: (looks up from her computer) bionia! How was your day?

Bionia: Awesome! I learned alot about humans and chemistry.

Nathan: That's nice, you seem to be adapting fine.

Bionia: BTW what's with the luggage outside?

  Isa and Nathan froze for a moment before snapping back to reality.

Nathan: Our company got a one-year contract deal to a robotics company in china and we were selected along with some other employees to go.

Bionia: Wait! So we're leaving, for a whole year!

Isa: Yes.

Bionia: But I'm finally adapting with my environment, I'm developing a personality and I've made friends.

Isa: It's our job.

Bionia: I don't have to go do I? I can stay.

Nathan: All on your own?

Isa: I don't like that idea.

Bionia: (kneels) Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I won't get into trouble, I'll be good.

Nathan: (whispers to Isa).

Isa: (sighs) alright fine.

Bionia: Yay!

Nathan: (phone beeps) That's our signal, bionia help me get these boxes into the car.

Bionia: Okay (picks up a box) what's in them?

Nathan: Robotic parts and samples for projects.

  We loaded up the car with the things Isa and Nathan needed and they were ready to go. Nathan came out holding a box with Isa behind him.

Nathan: Alright bionia, we'll be gone by whole year but we'll keep in touch with you everyday.

Isa: Take these Smart glasses since you don't have a phone yet.

Bionia: (takes the glasses and puts them on) .

Nathan: (puts down the box)  This is something to keep you company so you won't be alone in the house, open it.

  I bent down opening the box and I immediately got tackled to the ground by a small German shepherd dog.

Bionia: Aww a dog, yay!

Nathan: His name's bolts and he's designed to be a guard dog for children.

Bionia: He's a robot? He looks and feels so real (pats the happy dog's head).

Isa: Well your parents are genius robotic engineers.

Bionia: (chuckles) Ofcourse (hugs both of them) journey safely, I love you guys.

Isa: We love you too (kisses them on the forehead) goodbye.

Bionia: Bye.

  As the car drove out of the street I felt an odd pain in my chest, dang I was really gonna miss them. As I stood there tears rolling down my face for the first time in my life I felt an unusual presence around me. I didn't feel at ease so I went inside the house with bolts behind me and locked the door.

Viewer's pov

  A man dressed in black hid in the bushes and observed bionia as she watched Isa and Nathan leave and went inside the house.

Mr Rogeren: (on speaker) you got eyes on the target?

Man: Yes sir, Engineer Nathan and Isa have left for the program and the android's home alone.

Mr Rogeren: Perfect, now your job is to watch the bot's every movement and see how she interacts and behaves with everyone then report back to me.

Man: Yes sir.

Mr Rogeren: This project is too special to be thrown into the mud, they're one of a kind as well as the key to the survival of humanity.
