THE NIGHT HE SPOKE TOO LATE
The rain had been relentless since evening. the eldest member of (Kottarathil house) who is 79 years old Cherian Kurian sat by the wooden desk near the window, listening to it strike the tiled roof of his old house in Kottayam. The wall clock ticked loudly, every second echoing through the quiet room

*No answer which made the Kurian stood up slowly and took a few steps toward the door, then stopped. His eyes drifted back to the wooden box beneath the table. His expression softened*

*He opened the box and pulled out a folded paper, worn at the edges. Holding it in his hand, he spoke aloud, as if someone were standing beside him*

*look at the photo frame near him* my dear granddaughter I thought it was to early for u to know
*The knock came again—this time from the back door which made Cherian's breath catch*

It's not the wind *he whispered*
*He slipped the paper into his pocket and walked toward the hallway*

This must not fall into the wrong hands, *he said firmly, more to himself than anyone else*
*before Cherian go there the back door cracked open a shadow stretched across the room which made Cherian shrink in fear*

Who are you?” *he asked* What do you want from me?
*the shadow didn't answer Instead, he lifted his hand and pointed toward the wall behind Cherian .He turned slowly in fear only to notice the Craved wooden frame was a symbol he hadn’t seen in years. the one which made him lose everything onces was dear to him*

*his face went Pale* no *he breathed* Not here. Not this close.

“You were warned, Cherian. You didn’t give us what we asked for. And you hid yourself well—for over twenty years.”

*There was a pause.
Then the lamp was struck from the table. It shattered against the floor, plunging the room into darkness*

She will end what I can't finish *Whisper into the void*
*Outside, the rain grew louder, washing away sin which couldn't have happened trying to blur the image of what had Happened there
By morning, Kottayam would say Kurian Zachariah died peacefully in his home.
But silence, once broken, never truly returns
