Jungkook thought in horror as he stood in a bridal gown on the aisle before none other than Kim Taehyung, the tyrant king who would kill anyone without batting an eye.
A week before the wedding, the royal family of the small but significant kingdom of Eldoria arrived in the Kingdom of Euphoria. Their princess was to be wed to the King of Euphoria on an auspicious day set a week later. They were welcomed wholeheartedly by the palace, and the people of the Kingdom of Euphoria rejoiced at the news of their king taking a bride. Everywhere, there was happiness.
Jungkook peeked out from behind the curtain-draped window, lifting one corner. A wide smile played on his lips as he watched some people dancing joyously, others singing or playing musical instruments, while a few threw flowers at their carriages. From the moment they had entered the kingdom, they had been welcomed by the same sights.

A sob escaped Ji-won’s lips as she called Jungkook’s name, while Jungkook sat scared witless at the sight of his sister crying miserably.

Jungkook looked at her worriedly and hugged her, and spoke softly in hope of trying to comfort her.

Jungkook patted her back gently while Ji-won continued to cry in his arms.
Chapter 2
The Jeon family stayed in the east wing of the palace, and as the days passed, the king never came to meet them—not for breakfast, lunch, or dinner—as the head butler said he was busy taking care of the kingdom's important matters.
On the other hand, Jungkook spent his time locked in the room beside his sister’s or with Ji-won whenever she was alone and free from visitors and fittings for her wedding dress.
Three days before the wedding, in the late afternoon when everyone was either busy or resting, Jungkook decided to sneak out of his room bored from being locked up. He puts on a mask that revealed only his eyes.
After that, he quietly slipped out of the room and made his way through the east palace corridors without being seen by any of his family's guards. Jungkook finally giggled upon entering the secluded garden, away from the east palace.

Jungkook huffed, lay down on the grass, and stared at the sky.

Jungkook raised his right hand as if reaching to touch the beautiful blue sky, then tiredly let it drop and huffed.

He sighed sadly and continued staring at the sky.
Unbeknownst to Jungkook, a man stared at him lying relaxed on the grass through the window. His eyes were filled with curiosity, while his presence exuded a dangerous, cold aura.

Hoseok's voice startled Jungkook, alerting him to their presence. Shocked, he looked toward their window and saw two extremely handsome men staring at him.

Jungkook's mind stopped working for a full five minutes before he slowly realized that this must be his sister's fiancé, the king of the Kingdom of Euphoria.
He immediately shot up and stood straight as soon as the realization hit him. He then clumsily bowed and ran away as fast as he could.

Taehyung's cold voice rang out as he stared at Jungkook, who was running as fast as he could and soon vanished from sight.

Taehyung turned and walked away to the courtroom, where the ministers were waiting, followed by Hoseok.
Chapter 3
In the middle of the night, one day before the wedding, Jungkook accompanied his sister on the balcony. They watched the fireworks together.

The people of the Euphoria Kingdom are so lovely—not a single night has gone by since we arrived that they haven't lit fireworks.
Jungkook genuinely admired the sentiments of the people. However, Ji-won scoffed.

Jungkook just smiled softly, but there was something indescribable in his eyes. They stayed silent for a moment before Ji-won spoke up hesitantly.

Ji-won finally spoke after hesitating for a long while. Jungkook nodded understandingly, and they went into the room. Jungkook sat on the bed while Ji-won paced anxiously back and forth in front of him, not knowing how to say what she wanted.
