The rain that drenched him now was the same rain he remembered from that night in past —cold, merciless, relentless. The memory hit him like a knife.
He was naive then, trusting, full of hope. The rooftop of the same abandoned building had been eerily quiet that night. The city below blurred in neon, just as it did now. But the storm had a different meaning back then—it had been a witness to betrayal and death.
Jungkook’s breaths were shallow, every gasp burning through the poison coursing through his veins. His vision swam with the figures that surrounded him.

The stepfather sneered, looming over him, eyes dark with greed. “You were always too soft, too naive. Too trusting.”

Jungkook’s chest ached. He remembered thinking Taehyung was cruel, possessive, angry with him—misinterpreting every gesture, every glance, every furious action.
