Title: The Li Family's daughter

In this big house, I am like an orphan just like how I was an orphan when I was in a small house. This big house belongs to my family but the only daughter recognized here isn't me but my adopted sister Li mu mu. Li mu mu was adopted when I went missing as a baby, when I was found two months ago, I came back home but I didn't receive any warmth here because all my parents and brother Care about is Li mu mu.

"Mei Mei why are you sitting there doing nothing" A meek voice sounded behind me and I turned

"Mu mu" I called

"Sis will you join me to go shopping with brother" she asked me

"Brother wenchaun won't let me" I answered calmly

"Common it will be fun" she answered meekly

I didn't need anyone to tell me before I knew that he only agreed because of Li mu mu. On getting to the mall Li mu mu started picking clothes while my brother helped her in holding the clothes. I stood by the side watching the brother-sister duo and I felt like crying, but I held it in.

"Aren't you picking anything?" Wenchaun asked me

"No I don't want anything" I answered calmly

"Mei Mei you can have some of mine okay" mu mu chirped happily

"No need, I'm okay with the ones I had before"

"Brother wenchaun" she looked at him with teary eyes like I said something awful to her

"Don't you know how to speak" wenchaun asked angrily

"I just don't want anything" I answered

"Why does everyone like her more than me" I thought to myself

Is she too pretty? Or too nice? Or because she can always make it seem like I'm bullying her? Whatever the answer was, none of them was beneficial to me.

"Apologize to mu mu now!!!" Wenchaun thundered

"I'm sorry I insisted on not getting clothes even you asked me to. Is that what you expected me to tell her" I asked wenchaun

"Tell me why she cried. Is it because I said I won't wear her clothes even when she asked me to" I asked again

"You said it rudely" he defended and I chucked

"I am your sister but thanks for making me feel like a stranger" I stormed out angrily

"Is it my fault that she left" mu mu asked after I left

"No it's mine, I shouldn't have spoken to her like that" wenchaun sighed regretfully

"Oh" she answered but nobody saw the evil glint in her eyes when she saw he was feeling regret.

After I left, I wandered about before I met an old lady who I sat close to

"You look sad dear" she said

"If only I was a little bit like my sister" I replied

"If you are like your sister, everyone will be happy but will you be happy? She asked with a smile

"I guess I won't be happy but...."

"No buts dear, just be yourself"

"Thanks ma'am"

"Oh its fine dear"

When I got home, mom, dad, wenchaun and Li mu mu were waiting for me

"Mei Mei you are back" mu mu exclaimed

I rolled my eyes inwardly but outwardly I only smiled

"Yes I'm back"

"Mei Mei I'm sorry for how I spoke to you at the mall today" wenchaun said

"If water pours away can you gather it back together?" I asked him

"Dear your brother is sorry" my mum said

"Is he?" I asked amused

"Of course dear"

"Mom how long has it been since I came back" I asked

"One month dear" she answered

"don't call me dear and its been two months" I replied back

"My favorite color?" I asked again

"Pink" she answered confidently

I smiled "No you are wrong"

"My favorite color is blue"

"You know nothing about me mom nothing"

"I..."

"Mom you shouldn't have brought me back if you know you wouldn't take Care of me. If you knew your adopted daughter is more important then why bring me back" I asked crying

"She's not more important, I just didn't want her to feel neglected after you came back" mom defended herself

"Then what about me, do you think I don't feel neglected?"

"We're sorry" my dad said

I laughed angrily "will it change anything? Tell me will this sorry change anything?" I sobbed

"We promise to never neglect you" wenchaun promised

"I hope you don't forget your words tomorrow" I said before walking away

"what about me" mu mu asked

"You are still our daughter" mom said

"I want to be your only daughter" she replied stubbornly

"what are you saying mu mu" wenchaun asked

"I want her away from here this minute" she shouted

"This is her house as well" dad replied

"No it is my house" she cried

"Then get out" wenchaun said calmly

"What" she sobbed

"You are chasing me out"

"If you are not going to know your place then Get Out!!!" he thundered

"I won't leave" she said stubbornly

"You will" dad said finally

"Dad" she called

"I will take you back to the orphanage" dad replied

"You are still thirteen so you will still see someone to adopt you" mom said finally

"Let's go" dad dragged her away

"No please I won't cause trouble, I won't be stubborn" mu mu cried as dad dragged her away

Dad turned a deaf ear to her pleas as he took her back to the orphanage home. At this point I knew my stay in this house will only get better from now on.

Chapter 1

A girl was seen sleeping on a bed peacefully when a man stepped in.

"Still asleep?" He smiled and walked towards the wardrobe and picked a dress before going into the bathroom

The girl slowly opened her eyes and looked around "where's he?" "You're awake" he stepped out of the bathroom with a smile

"Morning, what's the time?" She asked as she got up slowly

"It's 8 AM already" he answered

"Oh my God!!" She shrieked "I haven't made you breakfast yet" she made to run outside

"Wait Ella, I made breakfast already" he stopped her

"You did?" She stopped

"You came home tired last night and that's why I made you breakfast" He smiled and she immediately hugged him "I love you a lot Josh" she whispered

"Okay freshen up, I prepared your bath and picked a dress for you" he told her while breaking the hug

"I'll be back in 10 minutes" she ran into the bathroom

"Take your time baby" he shouted with a smile

"Your husband cooks for you?" Sharon, Ella's friend asked completely shocked

"Yes, is anything wrong?" Ella asked confused

"You are so lucky baby girl" she looked at her with envy

"Hi ladies" Josh smiled at them as he entered the house

"babe" Ella got up to hug him

"Miss me?" he asked with a smile

"You disappeared after getting married to my bestie"

"I've been busy but I'll make it up to you" Josh replied

"But I made lunch already" Ella said suddenly

Josh who was sleeping on the couch opened his eyes only to see Sharon staring at him "Sharon why are you here?" he asked as he sat up

She sat on the couch "Ella told me you now own a company"

"Yeah I opened it a year ago" he replied

"I couldn't take care of myself? Were you the one feeding me?" He frowned

"I hate you" she glared

"I know after all this is not the first time you are saying it" he rolled his eyes

"So what about your boyfriend you went to meet in Paris?" He suddenly asked

"That bastard? He cheated on me" she pouted sadly

"The girl wasn't even beautiful" she pouted with a frown

"I know you hate me, it isn't something new anyway" he chuckled

"Then what's new?" She asked

The door suddenly opened and Ella entered "Sharon?"

When she left I kinda felt happy because I felt like I was going to have his attention back to me completely but now that she's back I can't help but feel like I'm back to our college days" Ella thought to her

Sharon cleared her throat making Ella look at her "so I want to say something" Sharon looked at them with a smile

"What do you want to say?" Ella asked

"Josh" Sharon called

"What" Josh frowned

"I love you" Sharon replied

"What!!!" Josh shouted with shock all over his face

"But I'm scared, I'm scared because everyone likes her and I think you...." Josh cut her off

"You thought I will fall in love with Sharon? We don't even get along and I don't even like her"

"Even if she likes me, I don't like her because you are the one I love, not her, you are the one I'm married to, not her" Josh replied

"I know, I know that now, I'm sorry for thinking you'll fall in love with her" Ella apologized

"It's fine and I'm also sorry for arguing with you because of Sharon, I shouldn't have let her come between us" Josh apologized

"So... we're even?" Ella asked with a small smile

"I prefer this house" Ella pouted as she showed him the picture of a house on her phone

"So when are you getting it"

"Next month"

"Too far" Ella frowned

"Fine in two weeks time" Josh replied

"Promise?" Ella asked

"Promise" Josh replied with an helpless smile
