CHAPTER ONE
Kim Taehyun
"Hey, dude... I saw your call, I was in a meeting. What's up?"
Lee Minjae
"Yeah, I was calling to let you know that me and some other guys in my department are going to the amusement park that just opened up in Seoul"
Kim Taehyun
"Well have a good time-
Lee Minjae
"Wait! Hold on! What do you mean by that ? Come on dude just for an hour then we will get out of here"
Kim Taehyun
He sighs, and says "Listen I am not up for it... I have my scholarship exams coming up and I haven't really studied for it"
Lee Minjae
"Come on dude, how long do you plan to bury yourself in books?Let's just go out and have some fun. Look I'm leaving for the park... The name is Ace Max Park, see there"
Call ends and Minjae enters his car and drives out of his garage, he waves his mom who was near the garden on a call
In the bustling city of Seoul, a faceless creature walked in the mist of humans. It was dressed in a black crop top and black shorts covered by a black hooded jacket
A creature whom no one has ever seen its face. This was creature made from the union of an angle and demon cursed by God, this creature became genderless and was stripped of its celestial beauty.
This creature whom is neither male nor female...and has lived for hundreds of years and goes above human culture.
It was called "Shi : god of death" which is an ancient divine word bestowed by God. No human can see it or feel it's presence until death is on their necks
This creature being a celestial abomination was forced to face the sin of it's parents and atone while searching for its face.
Shi brings out her phone and answers the call
NAMASHICHI
"Nam Jiyoung, a thirty-two-year-old AIDS patient...working at the new park as a security guard, cause of death; electric shock... time of death; four o'clock"
Call ends, Shi crosses the zebra crossing... Minjae sees her passing and is captivated by her beautiful face. He paused for a moment, the light hit green and he continues driving.
Ace Max Park
It was a cheerful and beautiful place, filled with children, middle schoolers, teenagers and a lot of couples. Minjae walks in and looks around for his friends.
Glancing through the Ferris Wheel, he sees her again. Her hood was up as she walked towards the Candy shop which next to the Ferris Wheel. He lost focus and his body began to move on his own, he slowly approached her.
Kim Taehyun
"Hey, Minjae... Where are you going?"
With no response from Minjae, Taehyun got worried... When he looked at Minjae's direction he saw nothing in the crowd not even someone he could recognize...he got curious and started following him
Shi brought out her phone and stared at it for a while, when she looked up she saw Minjae approaching her. She immediately disappeared.
He reached out for her and then froze
Kim Taehyun
"Minjae! What's wrong?"
He said with his hand on Minjae's shoulder, he turned and was surprised to see Taehyun... He looked around for her, but he found nothing
Kim Taehyun
"Are you alright? I called you a million times but no response...are you feeling unwell?"
Lee Minjae
"No, it's nothing... I'm fine.... I thought I saw someone. Come on, let's go!"
He glanced one more time at the queue near the Ferris wheel but she wasn't there
Shi looked at him, from one of the Ferris wheel rides... She sighs and looks at her phone and it was few minutes to four... She prepared to bring yet another sinful soul to the underworld
She disappeared and was near his guard post...she saw him and snapped her fingers
A little girl takes a teaser from her mother's purse while playing with it she turns it on and it slips out if her hand and falls into the fountain
She weeps loudly, and her mother drags her along to buy some candy, but she keeps pointing at the fountain, the security guard sees this and feels sad.
He quickly rushed to the young girl's aid, he puts his legs into the fountain and gets electrocuted
Time stops as Shi approaches him, he sees her and says in an angry tone
Security Guard
"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON? AM I DEAD!?WHY CAN'T I MOVE!? HEY YOU!!!... CAN'T YOU SEE I NEED HELP?"
Shi looks at him and emits an aura that sends a shudder down his spine, he was covered in fear as he looks at her
Security Guard
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?! WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR FACE?"
Shi
"What were planning to do to them? Rape the mother after scoring points with the daughter? And then what? Rape the little girl too?"
He was surprised as he looked at Shi... Wondering how she knew his motive and plans
Shi
"Scum like you deserve a better death... Your time is up... Go and face your judgement"
Shi snaps her fingers and time was restored, the security guard died by four o'clock on the dot, she smiles and walks away....
A woman screamed in fear after seeing his body lying lifeless in the fountain.... People murmured and called the ambulance while some ran for their lives out of fear
Minjae saw her walking away from the scene, he immediately chased after her
With the ruckus, a cart was pushed and was falling towards Shi's direction... Minjae noticed and rushed to her aid
Taehyun saw him running and followed him immediately calling out for him saying
Kim Taehyun
"Minjae! Minjae! Where the hell are you going?!"
The cart was about falling on Shi, she stopped and looked at it emotionless.
Lee Minjae
"Hey! Look out!"
He jumped and grabbed her out of the way. They both fell, with Shi on top of Minjae, he smiled and said
Lee Minjae
"Thank goodness... I thought I wouldn't have made it on time. Whoa... You are beautiful up close"
