CEO’S Only Exception (Taekook)
Chapter 1
Hii let’s start the story….
A young man was sitting in his office cabin, spinning a pen between his fingers.
Kim Taehyung
Kim Taehyung.
Age 29.
CEO of Vantech Group.
Cold face. Sharp eyes.
Whole company feared him.
Kim Taehyung
(muttering):
“Where is he?”
Just then, the cabin door opened.
Jeon Jungkook walked in with a tablet and coffee.
Jeon Jungkook
“You called me?”
Taehyung looked up and relaxed instantly.
Kim Taehyung
“There you are,” he said.
“I was starting to think you abandoned me.”
Jeon Jungkook
“As if I’d survive that.”
Jungkook was Taehyung’s assistant.
And also… his best friend.
They knew each other since college.
They built dreams together.
And now they ran a company together.
No secrets.
No misunderstandings.
Jungkook placed the coffee on Taehyung’s desk.
Jeon Jungkook
“Board meeting in fifteen minutes. Director Choi is already causing drama.”
Kim Taehyung
Taehyung smirked.
“He always does.”
Jungkook hesitated for a second.
Jeon Jungkook
“They’re blaming our department for the data leak.”
Taehyung’s eyes turned cold.
Kim Taehyung
“Did you find the truth?”
Jeon Jungkook
“Yes. And I already prepared the proof.”
Taehyung smiled—not cold, not cruel.
Kim Taehyung
“That’s why I keep you by my side.”
Jungkook looked away, ears slightly red.
Executives arguing.
Accusations flying.
Director Choi stood up dramatically.
Director Choi
“This company is falling because the CEO trusts his assistant too much.”
Before Taehyung could speak—
Jeon Jungkook
“The leak came from a vendor personally approved by Director Choi.”
Jungkook continued calmly.
Jeon Jungkook
“I’ve submitted the evidence to legal. Please be careful with your words.”
Director Choi sat down, pale.
Back in the cabin, Taehyung locked the door.
He walked closer to Jungkook.
Kim Taehyung
“You handled that perfectly,” he said.
Jeon Jungkook
“I trust you. That’s all.”
Taehyung looked at him for a long moment.
Best friend.
Assistant.
Anchor.
Kim Taehyung
(thought):
“If you ever leave… this office will feel empty.”
That he was already the most important person in the CEO’s life.
Chapter 2
The office floor slowly returned to normal after the board meeting.
Employees whispered in corners.
Laptops clicked nervously.
Everyone knew—
Something big had happened.
Inside the CEO’s cabin, silence settled.
Taehyung stood near the window, hands in his pockets, looking down at the city.
Jungkook sat on the sofa, scrolling through his tablet.
The kind that only comes from years of knowing each other.
Jeon Jungkook
“Legal team has frozen Director Choi’s access.”
Jeon Jungkook
“You should go home early today.”
Kim Taehyung
“Are you firing me?”
Jeon Jungkook
“You’ve been awake since 5 a.m., Tae.”
Only Jungkook used that tone.
Only Jungkook noticed these things.
Taehyung walked closer and sat opposite him.
Kim Taehyung
“Will you go home too?”
Jeon Jungkook
“I’ll stay till the reports are done.”
Taehyung’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Kim Taehyung
“That wasn’t a question,”
Kim Taehyung
“It was an order.”
Taehyung leaned back, arms crossed.
Kim Taehyung
“We leave together.”
Jeon Jungkook
“You’re impossible.”
Kim Taehyung
“And you’re staying,”
Outside the cabin, Director Choi stood near the reception, watching through the glass walls.
Director Choi
(thought):
“So that assistant really is untouchable.”
The office lights dimmed.
Only one cabin was still lit.
Taehyung reviewed files while Jungkook typed beside him, their shoulders almost touching.
Not romantic.
Just natural.
Jeon Jungkook
“You trusted me in that meeting without even looking at the proof.”
Kim Taehyung
“I didn’t need to.”
Jeon Jungkook
“You didn’t even hesitate.”
Taehyung finally looked at him.
Kim Taehyung
“I never do when it comes to you.”
The words were simple.
But they hit deep.
Jungkook swallowed and returned to typing.
Outside, rain began to fall.
Taehyung stood and grabbed his coat.
Kim Taehyung
“You skipped lunch again.”
Jungkook opened his mouth to argue—
As they walked out together, employees stared.
The CEO.
And his assistant.
Just two people who had chosen each other—long before feelings were named.
And somewhere between boardrooms and late dinners—
Something was slowly, quietly changing.
Chapter 3
Morning sunlight filled the Vantech cafeteria.
Employees gathered around tables, pretending not to stare.
The CEO was having breakfast.
Taehyung sat calmly with his coffee, scrolling through his phone.
Across from him sat Jungkook, focused on his toast.
Normal for them.
Not normal for everyone else.
Employees
Employee 1 (whispering):
“Isn’t that the CEO?”
Employees
Employee 2:
“And his assistant…”
Employees
Employee 3:
“They come together every day?”
Employees
Jungkook noticed the whispers and sighed softly.
Jeon Jungkook
“People are staring,”
Taehyung didn’t even look up.
Jeon Jungkook
“You really don’t care.”
Kim Taehyung
“Just not about this.”
Before Jungkook could respond—
A familiar voice interrupted.
???
“Did I miss a meeting or is this a date?”
Kim Seokjin pulled a chair and sat beside them, holding a juice box.
PR Director.
Sharp tongue.
Too observant for his own good.
Kim Seokjin
“You two are becoming the cafeteria’s main attraction,”
Taehyung finally looked up.
Kim Taehyung
“Eat and leave.”
Kim Seokjin
“So cold. No wonder Jungkook balances you.”
Jungkook kicked Jin’s foot under the table.
Another chair scraped back.
Min Yoongi sat down quietly, laptop already open.
Min Yoongi
“PR people talk too much.”
Jungkook smiled slightly.
Yoongi had always been like this—quiet, blunt, reliable.
Taehyung nodded once at Yoongi.
Kim Taehyung
“System update?”
Min Yoongi
Replied. “Choi won’t touch the servers again.”
Sunshine entered the room.
Jung Hoseok
“GOOD MORNING!”
Jung Hoseok practically bounced over, holding a smoothie.
Jung Hoseok
“Why do you all look so serious this early?”
Kim Seokjin
“Because some of us work.”
Jung Hoseok
“And some of us bring joy.”
He leaned closer to Yoongi, peeking at his screen.
Jung Hoseok
“You didn’t sleep again, did you?”
Jung Hoseok
“You promised.”
The room went quiet for a second.
Jungkook glanced between them.
Before anyone could comment—
Kim Namjoon joined them, adjusting his glasses.
Kim Namjoon
“You’re all here,”
Kim Namjoon
“Good. CEO meeting in thirty.”
Taehyung stood up immediately.
Namjoon watched them for a moment, thoughtful.
Kim Namjoon
“They move like a unit,”
Kim Seokjin
“They always have.”
As Taehyung and Jungkook walked away side by side, Hoseok leaned toward Jin.
Jung Hoseok
“…Do you see it too?”
Kim Seokjin
“Oh, absolutely.”
Yoongi closed his laptop.
Min Yoongi
“Just don’t interfere,”
Were already writing themselves.
