Soon she heard a commotion downstairs and she slowly descended the stairs to see her stepfather, Lee Sang-min with a strange man.
She frowned, confused.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
What's going on?
Her stepfather looked at her a bit sadly before replying.
Lee Sang-min
Lee Sang-min
I sold you to him.
He said simply.
The strange man looked at her up and down, already checking her out. Which made her feel uncomfortable.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
W-what?
She looked at the strange man and then back at her stepfather. Fear flashed across her face.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
No, you're lying...
Lee Sang-min
Lee Sang-min
I'm sorry...I needed the money...
The strange man looked at Ji-hye and stepped closer to her. He grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Don't worry. I'll take good care of you doll...
The way how he said those words sent a shiver down her spine. He looked at her with possessiveness and something unreadable.
She turned to her stepfather.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
N-no Dad, you promised me!!
She yelled.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
You promised me that you would protect me!!
Her stepfather didn't say anything and just looked away.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Come here, doll.
He grabbed her wrists and pulled her closer to him.
Ji-hye tried to wriggle free, but the man was strong. He turned to her stepfather, looking pleased. He patted Ji-hye's head, as if she was doll. She looked at her stepfather.
Her stepfather avoided her gaze, looking a bit guilty while she was struggling against the man's grip.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
She's a feisty one, I like that.
He grabbed her chin and made her look at him.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Stop struggling, doll.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
Let me go, you creep!!
She yelled.
She looked at her stepfather one more time, anxiety in her chest.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
Dad, please... don't do this!! I don't want to go!!
The man smirked as she was trying to loosen herself from his grip. He grabbed her chin again, tighter, forcing her to look into his dark eyes.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Shut up, doll.
She trembled with fear when their eyes met. At that moment, she knew this man was dangerous. But still, she didn't want to go with him.
She didn't know him or what he did for a living. He smirked and then dragged her outside.
She screamed.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
NOOOOO!!!
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
SOMEBODY HELP!!!
The man quickly placed his hand over mouth to muffle her screams.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Don't you dare yell, doll.
He dragged her out to his expensive and luxurious car, opening the door and shoving her in.
But she refused to give in. She struggled and at one point, she managed to bite one of his fingers as he was shoving her inside the car.
The man let out a low, dangerous chuckle as he pulled his hand back, looking at the bite mark on his finger.
His eyes darkened.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You gonna regret that, doll.
He leaned in close, gripping her wrist tightly and forcing her into the car with brutal strength.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
No more games. You're mine now, scream all you want. No one's going to save you.
And she realized that he was right. It was late in the night and no one was around. But she still wouldn't give up. She glared at him.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
Let me go, you pervert!!
He slammed the car door with a thud, got in and then leaned dangerously close, his voice low and icy.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You don't get it, do you?
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
I'm not some creep off the street. I'm not someone you can scream at and run away from.
He grabbed her chin hard, a smirk.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
And you? You're not getting away tonight. Not now, not ever.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Now sit back or I'll make sure you regret it.
Ji-hye wanted to slap him but she held back. He was not just warning her, but reminding her of how capable he was. Seeing her silence, he smirked and pulled out a rope from only God knows where.
He tied her hand in one quick motion before she could protest. Then he turned around, leaned back and drove away.

The engine roared to life, the dark car slicing through the night streets.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You're smart... staying quiet.
He glanced at her through the rearview mirror, watching her tied hands tremble slightly.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Don't try anything stupid doll, next time it won't just be rope.
The city lights blurred past as he sped towards his penthouse.
Cold, isolated and completely under his control.
When they arrived, Ji-hye was shocked and in awe of the magnificent penthouse that stood before them.
She had never seen such luxury in her entire life. But she was forced to snap back to reality when she felt the strange man's hands on her back. He dragged her towards the penthouse, with her calling him all sorts of names.
Inside, startled maids, and servants stared in shock as the man dragged her upstairs to the bedroom. Inside he pushed her and she fell on the bed, hands still tied.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
Yah!!
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
What do you think you're doing?!!
The man closed the door behind him, locking it with a sharp click. He had that dangerous, smug smirk on his face as he looked at her on the bed.
Wrist tied on full display.
He walked over, his footsteps almost predatory in their silence.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
What an attitude, doll.
He reached the edge of the bed, placed a hand on each side of her, trapping her beneath him.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
I'll have to teach you how to behave, don't I?
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
Don't you dare touch me!!
She yelled, glaring at him.
She was putting on a bold front, but in reality, she was scared and terrified of him. All sorts of thoughts ran through her head.
What if he was going to....
The man leaned in close, his voice low and smooth, like silk wrapped around a blade.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You think I don't see the fear in your eyes?
He smirked, brushing a strand of hair from her face with cold fingers.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You can scream, you can fight. But nothing changes the fact that you're here...
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
And that you're mine.
He stood up slowly, unbuttoning his coat like he had all the time in the world.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
And whatever I want to do, I will.
Ji-hye watched in horror as he took off his coat. All the while he was grinning like this was some kind of joke. She tried to untie her hands, but she couldn't.
He towered over her, his face close to hers. He looked at her, eyes gleaming with danger and something else she couldn't name.
He placed his hands on the bed, caging her in, his voice a dark whisper.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You're trembling...cute.
His free hand brushed her cheek, slow, mocking, and then trailed down to the bow tie of her school uniform.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Don't worry doll... I'm not going to break you...
His lips curled into a sinister smirk.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
I'm going to own you...
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
No... don't...
She pleaded, trembling.
The man smirked, thoroughly enjoying her fear. He loosened her bow tie and then ripped it.
Not gently.
Roughly.
She cried out, tears streaming down her face.
The man chuckled at her tears, relishing in it.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Tears already doll?
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
We've only just begun.
He leaned in, his lips close to her ear.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
You have no idea, do you?
He leaned back and looked into her eyes, dark, cold, like a snake hypnotizing it's prey.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Don't worry...
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
No.... please...
She begged.
He was about to rip off her school shirt when a knock sounded from outside the door. Another man's voice came hurriedly, urgency in his voice.
The man paused, a look of annoyance briefly passing over his face. He turned his head towards the door, irritation laced in his tone.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
What is it now?
Mafia Employees/Jimin
Mafia Employees/Jimin's Subordinates
Subordinate A: Boss, there is a problem.
Mafia Employees/Jimin
Mafia Employees/Jimin's Subordinates
Subordinate A: The Del Garde clan is at our three point warehouse, pillaging it. We need backup.
The man frowned, and then got up from off the bed. He put back on his coat and walked to the door but not before turning to look at Ji-hye.
He eyed her, eyes dark and threatening. He smiled, but it wasn't kind.
He walked back, stepping close to the bed, slow and deliberate. One hand reached out, gripping her chin hard.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
Behave while I'm gone...And don't even think about running.
His thumb brushed over her lower lip, cold and possessive.
Park Jimin
Park Jimin
I'll be back soon...and we'll pick up right where we left off.
He released her, turned sharply, and walked out locking the door behind him.
Silence filled the room.
She was alone...for now.

She breathed a sigh of relief but it was short-lived. Her wrists began to hurt her.
Badly.
She tried to untie the ropes but it was useless.
That bastard had tied the ropes tightly. She tried again but failed. Eventually, she fell asleep.
The next day, she woke up feeling confused. Then the memories of what happened the previous night replayed in her mind.
She looked around and saw no one, which made her relieved. But then there was knock on the door.
The door creaked open and a woman in her early forties, walked into the room. She had kind eyes, a warm smile, and an aura that exuded calmness. She quickly took in the sight of Ji-hye, who was bound and clearly distressed.
Her eyes softened with concern.
She hurried over, kneeling next to the bed and started to carefully untie the ropes from Ji-hye's wrists.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
My dear...are you okay?
Ji-hye wanted to say something but couldn't. What happened to her the previous night left her traumatized.
After untying her, the woman smiled at her and introduced herself as Cho Eun-ji, the head maid of the penthouse.
Eun-ji gently held Ji-hye's hands in hers, her touch warm and reassuring. She could see the fear in Ji-hye's eyes, the after effects of the previous night still lingering.
She spoke softly, her voice gentle and comforting.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
Don't be afraid, my dear. You're safe now.
She pulled a small first aid kit from the nightstand.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
Let me tend to your wrists.
Ji-hye nodded and Eun-ji rubbed some cream on her wrists. Ji-hye hissed in pain and from the sight of her wrists that were red from the tightening hold of the ropes.
After treating the bruises, Eun-ji helped Ji-hye to get up. There was an adjacent bathroom next to the bedroom, and Eun-ji told her to take a bath and then join her downstairs where she was preparing breakfast.
Eun-ji gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
Hurry, dear. The bathroom's stocked with fresh towels, and soap.
She led Ji-hye to the bathroom and pointed to a neatly set of folded towels on the counter.
Simple.
Clean.
Nothing like "he" would've picked.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
And don't worry, I'll keep that man away from you.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
For now.
And with one last reassuring smile, she slipped out quietly.
Alone again..but this time, the air felt lighter. Ji-hye stepped into the shower and allowed the warm water to run, washing off the fear..if only for a moment.
Downstairs, Eun-ji was already setting the table. Coffee steaming, pancakes golden-brown.
A small of act of normalcy in this dangerous world.
She wasn't free.
But for today?
She was safe.

There was just a simple white summer dress, but it was better than nothing.
Her school uniform was crumpled and the bow tie torn. After a refreshing shower, Ji-hye changed and then headed downstairs into the dining room where Eun-ji was setting the table.
Her stomach growled, desperate for food.
Eun-ji looked up at the sound of her footsteps, her smile widening as she watched Ji-hye walk in.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
Ah, there you are.
She walked over to the table, pulled out a chair for her.
Cho Eun-ji
Cho Eun-ji
Please sit. Breakfast is ready.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm pancakes, invaded her senses, tantalizingly tempting her hungry stomach.
She sat down immediately and licked her lips as Eun-ji placed a cup of coffee and a plate of pancakes with whipped cream in front of her.
She dug in, eating as if she was in an apocalypse. When she was finished, Eun-ji sat beside her, kindness and worry in her eyes. Ji-hye finally found her voice back, but it came out small, and shaky.
Kim Ji-hye
Kim Ji-hye
Um...thank you.
