A Bet
1
The campus was buzzing with excitement as the basketball match neared its end. Cheers filled the air, growing louder as the score tied. The crowd held its breath, knowing either team could win with the next point.
Taehyung shouted loudly, cheering on Veronika's team. He had a lot riding on the outcome, a bet with Jungkook that he desperately wanted to win. The players sprinted down the court, the crowd's anticipation building as they waited for the final point.
Jungkook had chosen Lily's team, despite not knowing her well. He deliberately avoided Veronika's team, finding her arrogance and dominance off-putting. Jungkook disliked how Veronika treated others poorly, yet was sweet to Taehyung, who seemed oblivious to her feelings.
As the match neared its end, Jungkook watched intently, his eyes widening as he screamed when Lily's team scored the final point. Jumping up from his seat, he threw a fist in the air, ecstatic about winning the bet.
With a sly smirk on his lips, Jungkook's eyes scanned the crowd, taking in the cheers and groans filling the air. He searched for Taehyung amidst the chaos of winning and losing teams. Finally spotting the younger male, Jungkook's gaze lingered.
Taehyung's fluffy brownish hair was disheveled, his face scrunched up in an angry scowl. His chubby cheeks puffed out in a pout, arms crossed in defeat. Jungkook's expression transformed, his lips curving into a fond smile as he admired Taehyung.
Falling back into his seat, Jungkook's hand unknowingly rested on his chest, where his heart lay. He felt a warmth spreading through him, his smile still fixed on Taehyung.
How can anyone be so cutee!
Jungkook's eyes sparkled as he gazed at Taehyung, a fond smile on his face. Honestly, he'd had a crush on the brown-haired boy since high school. At first, he thought it was just a passing infatuation, but his feelings intensified when Taehyung hung out with a classmate without telling him.
That classmate, in particular, made Jungkook's blood boil. The guy constantly flirted with Taehyung, pushing Jungkook to his limits. He ended up confronting the classmate, warning him to stay away from Taehyung.
As time passed, Jungkook's crush evolved into something more profound. He found himself going crazy for Taehyung every day, admiring him from afar without being too obvious.
Jungkook knew Taehyung was a kind and supportive person, accepting of everyone. Even if Jungkook comes out as gay, Taehyung would likely support him. But Jungkook hesitated, unsure how to define his emotions. He didn't consider himself gay,he just had feelings for Taehyung alone.
Jungkook's love was exclusive to Taehyung, no one else compared. The thought of rejection terrified him – what if Taehyung didn't feel the same? Taehyung's brief past relationship haunted Jungkook, stirring doubts about Taehyung's orientation.
Despite these fears, Jungkook's affection for Taehyung only intensified. He'd gladly spend his final moments admiring Taehyung's face, dying with a smile. Separation from Taehyung was his sole fear; he'd willingly face death if it meant gazing at Taehyung one last time.
Jungkook yearned to wake up and fall asleep beside Taehyung, holding his hand forever. He longed to spend the rest of his life with Taehyung, cherishing every moment, and creating countless memories. Jungkook wanted to be the one Taehyung turned to for comfort, the one he shared his laughter and tears with.
Lost in his daydream, a nudge on his shoulder jolted him back to reality. His friend's annoying grin sparked Jungkook's irritation.
friend
"That bitch going to steal your man, go claim him dumb head!"
His fists clenched, and his chest constricted as a wave of possessiveness washed over him. Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his gaze burning with intensity as he watched the scene unfold.
At the corner, there was Veronica on a chair while taehyung was on his knees....

As Jungkook watched, the girl continued to rant, her face scrunched up in annoyance. Taehyung listened attentively, nodding along as he gently tended to her scraped knee. Jungkook's expression darkened, his jaw clenched in frustration.
He struggled to suppress the overwhelming urge to sweep Taehyung into his arms, holding him close as he boldly declared to the world:
The intensity of his emotions caught him off guard, leaving him breathless and bewildered.
But soon his lips curled in a sly smirk. As he thought to himself.
I thought to go easy on you tonight. But why can I do? When you urself choose the rough way sweetheart.

Taehyung was completely confused by Jungkook's sudden behavior, which involved dragging him away from Veronica while she was still being tended to.
Taehyung had been calmly applying medicine to Veronica's wound, until Jungkook burst in, glared at Veronica with an intense gaze, and then grabbed Taehyung's wrist, pulling him out of campus.
Taehyung was tired of asking questions that Jungkook ignored, so he just sighed and let Jungkook drag him along, knowing that his questions would fall on deaf ears.
A yelp escaped his lips when Jungkook opened the car door and practically pushed him inside, then walked around to the driver's seat and got in.
taehyung
"You don't need to be so rude, you know?" Taehyung mumbled, his lips forming a visible pout as he began to fasten his seatbelt.
Jungkook
"Don't act like you don't know why I'm so pissed!"
Jungkook hissed, starting the car. His expression was one of warning, cautioning Taehyung to choose his words carefully and avoid triggering a volatile outburst.
taehyung
"I really don't know," Taehyung replied, his voice laced with innocence.
Jungkook's face hardened, memories of the earlier scene flashing before his eyes. Seeing Taehyung apply medicine to Veronica's wounds had been bearable, but the tiny blush on Taehyung's chubby cheeks and Veronica's sly smirk had ignited a firestorm of jealousy within him. He knew Veronica was a flirt, and Taehyung's willingness to let her get away with it only fueled Jungkook's anger.
Jungkook
"You were clearly blushing!" Jungkook accused, his voice rising. "When I had clearly told you to stay away from that bitch."
taehyung
"Jungkook language, she has a name, for God's sake," Taehyung replied, looking out the window to avoid eye contact.
Jungkook
"Are you in any position to teach me basic manners now?" Jungkook retorted, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Jungkook
"Tae, you know she's no good for you. I don't think I need to remind you how she forced a kiss on you!"
Jungkook's voice dropped to a low growl, his eyes flashing with anger, concern, and a hint of hurt.
taehyung
"She was drunk back then," Taehyung offered, trying to downplay the incident.
Jungkook
"But that's no excuse!" Jungkook's voice rose again, and he blew the horn loudly, making Taehyung jump.
taehyung
Taehyung sighed, glancing at Jungkook for a moment before looking down. "Okay, sorry...but let's just drop the topic, yeah?"
Jungkook took a deep breath, calming his nerves, and nodded. He placed a hand on Taehyung's thigh, squeezing the flesh gently.
Jungkook
"But you still owe me, you lost the bet,"
Jungkook said, a sly smirk spreading across his lips as he glanced at Taehyung from the corner of his eye.
taehyung
"Yeah, yeah, I know,"
Taehyung replied, rolling his eyes as he unbuckled his seatbelt. Jungkook had pulled the car over to the side, and Taehyung could see that they were currently outside Jungkook's apartment.
