Scene shifted to when sofia lands in India, she is met the overwhelming power of the Black Assent Group
As Sofia’s school group travels through New Delhi, she and her peers feel a strong urge to visit the headquarters of the Black Assent Group. However, their tour guide immediately stops them. The guide is likely aware of the group's reputation, as the company is led by Ved Rajput, the "King of India" and a hidden mafia figure. To a local guide, the Black Assent Group isn't just a business; it is a "lion's den" that is far too dangerous for a standard school tour
Despite the guide's warnings, Sofia is captivated by the building. Even from the outside, the Black Assent Group headquarters features an incredibly luxurious structure that stands out against the New Delhi skyline
Sofia is drawn to the sheer scale of the building, which represents the "overwhelming power" of the organization.
Sofia and her group are captivated by the luxurious structure of the Black Assent Group. Despite their persistence, the guards—acting under the authority of the "King of India," Ved Rajput—refuse to grant them entry. The building is the heart of a hidden mafia empire, and the security is as overwhelming as the architecture itself. Defeated for the moment, Sofia and her classmates return to their hotel. However, Sofia isn't ready to give up on seeing the "corporate hub" she promised to tell her mother about.

Sofia Sinclair
(Pacing by the window, looking out at the distant lights of the Delhi skyline) I can’t stop thinking about it. That wasn't just a building; it felt like the center of the world.
sam

Sofia, forget it. Didn't you see the way the guide looked? He was terrified. He called it a "lion's den." People don't just walk into a place like that for fun.
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
Turning around, eyes sharp) He’s a local, Sam. He’s been told stories to stay away. But I promised my mother I’d see the corporate hub of India. If I go home with just photos of old ruins and no story about the most powerful building in the city, I’ve failed.
Ann
Ann
The guards weren’t exactly friendly, Sofia. They looked like they were ready for a war, not a school trip.
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
Exactly. Why such heavy security for a "business group"? There’s something there—something the world doesn't see. And I’m going to see it.
sam
sam
You’re talking about sneaking back, aren't you?
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
A small, confident smile appearing) I’m a Sinclair. We don’t just take "no" for an answer. The guards change shifts at dawn. The guide will be busy with the itinerary for the Taj Mahal tomorrow. That’s our window.
sam
sam
(Sighs, looking at the others) We're going to regret this, aren't we?
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
Or, we’re going to have the best story of our lives. Who's in?

Sofia slips through a heavy steel door she found propped open by a delivery crate. Her heart hammers against her ribs—not just from fear, but from the adrenaline of being a Sinclair on a mission. She raises her phone to snap a photo of the opulent, marble-lined service hallway.

Sofia: (Whispering to herself) See, Mamma? Not just a corporate hub. A palace.
Suddenly, the temperature in the hall seems to drop. A heavy shadow stretches across the floor, swallowing hers.
Vikrant Ahuja
Vikrant Ahuja
(Voice low and gravelly) The skyline photos are better from the street, little girl. Inside, the view is much... deadlier.
Sofia freezes. She spins around to find Vikranth leaning against the mahogany wall, tossing a heavy brass lighter in one hand. He isn't wearing a guard's uniform; he’s in a sharp, dark suit that screams "authority." His eyes are cold, calculating, and fixed entirely on her.
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
Regaining her composure, chin up) I’m a tourist. I got lost looking for the... the historical archives.
Vikrant Ahuja
Vikrant Ahuja
Slow, dangerous smirk forms) Lost? You passed three "No Trespassing" signs and bypassed a biometric lock. You aren't lost, Sofia Sinclair. You’re curious.
Sofia’s blood runs cold at the mention of her name. She hadn't given it to anyone.
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
How do you know who I am?
Vikrant Ahuja
Vikrant Ahuja
(Walking toward her slowly, forced her to back into the wall) In this city, Ved Rajput knows every "lion" that enters his den before they even step off the plane. Especially a Sinclair.
He reaches out, not to hurt her, but to pluck the phone from her hand with terrifying speed.
Vikrant Ahuja

You wanted to see the "overwhelming power" of the group? Congratulations. You found it. Now, shall we go see the King, or should I just let the dogs decide what to do with a trespasser
The darkened perimeter fence of the Black Assent Group. Sam and two other classmates are huddled behind a thick hedge, watching the service entrance where Sofia disappeared.
sam
sam
She’s been in there ten minutes. The light in that hallway flickered and stayed on. Something happened.
Ann
Ann
We should call the teacher. Or the police. Sam, this is the Mafia!
sam
sam
If we call the police, she gets arrested for trespassing—or worse. We go in, grab her, and get back to the hotel before the morning roll call. Look, that guard by the gate is distracted by his phone.
Sam hands a heavy Bluetooth speaker to his classmate. They’ve rigged it to play a recording of a loud, crashing sound followed by a security alarm.
sam
sam
On three. Drop it near the south gate and run toward the trees. I’ll slip through the side door.
The speaker hits the pavement with a thud. A split second later, a blaring, synthesized siren pierces the quiet night. The guards at the main entrance bolt toward the sound, their flashlights cutting through the dark like jagged blades.
Sam scrambles over the low stone wall, his palms scraping against the rough rock. He reaches the side door Sofia used, but as he lunges for the handle, it swings open from the inside.
He doesn't find Sofia. He finds Vikranth, holding Sofia by the arm. Behind Vikranth stand two more men, their shadows looming large against the marble floor.
Vikrant Ahuja
Vikrant Ahuja
(Calmly, looking at Sam) And here comes the rest of the pride. You Sinclairs really do travel in packs, don't you?
sam
sam
Voice trembling but firm) Let her go. We're just students. We're leaving India tomorrow.
Vikrant Ahuja
Vikrant Ahuja
(To his men) Round them up. It seems our guest brought her own audience for the King. It would be rude to keep Mr. Rajput waiting any longer.
The guards surround Sam before he can even turn to run. The "rescue" has turned into a mass capture.

Since Ved Rajput is unexpectedly absent, the students are instead brought before his right hand and the "Architect of Shadows," Rishi Verma.
Rishi is the antithesis of Ved’s brooding power. He is younger, leaner, and carries an air of chaotic intelligence. While Ved is a king, Rishi is the grandmaster playing a game where the students are merely pawns he hadn't expected to find on his board.
The obsidian office remains, but the atmosphere has shifted from heavy dread to a sharp, clinical tension. Rishi Verma doesn't sit behind the desk; he is perched on the edge of it, scrolling through a tablet, his suit jacket discarded and sleeves rolled up to reveal a watch that likely costs more than a suburban house. As the students are ushered in, Rishi doesn't look up. He simply swipes his screen, and the massive wall monitors behind him flicker to life, displaying Sofia’s school records, her flight manifesto, and—most disturbingly—a grainy, high-resolution photo of her mother, Riva, taken just days ago in a grocery store parking lot.
Rishi Verma
Rishi Verma
(Without looking up, his voice light and conversational) "You’ve caused a significant spike in my evening's workload, Sofia. Ved is currently... handling a dispute in Mumbai. Which means you’re stuck with me. I’m Rishi."

(Stuttering) "W-we were just—"
Rishi Verma
Rishi Verma
(Cutting him off with a sharp look) "I know what you were doing. I have the thermal logs of you climbing the perimeter and the audio of that pathetic Bluetooth speaker 'distraction.' It was charmingly amateur."
Rishi Verma
Rishi Verma
The others are irrelevant. Background noise. But you..." He stops, tapping his chin. "Ved told me the Sinclair line had gone extinct in the East. Yet here you are, breaking into the most secure vault in New Delhi because you 'promised your mom photos of the skyline.' Do you really think I’m that stupid?"
Sofia Sinclair
Sofia Sinclair
I don't care what you think. If you're his second-in-command, you should know that my mother is waiting for a call."
Rishi Verma
Rishi Verma
(Grins, revealing a predatory edge) "Oh, I know. I’m the one who traced the encryption on her 'private' line while you were being dragged down the hall. Your mother is a ghost, Sofia. A very talented, very dangerous ghost. But ghosts can't protect you when you're standing in a room full of living monsters
Rishi tosses the tablet onto a leather chair and gestures toward the door where a line of armed guards stands ready.
Rishi Verma
Rishi Verma
Since Ved isn't here to decide if he wants to recruit you or erase you, I’m going to do something much worse. I’m going to make you wait. Every minute you stay here, your mother loses a year of her life to stress. That’s a debt I think she deserves to pay."
He turns to the guards, his voice turning ice-cold.
Rishi Verma

Take them to the holding suite. Not the guest wing—the suite with the reinforced glass. I want Sofia to see the skyline she’s so fond of, but I want her to know she’s never going to touch it again without my permission."
