**Jungkook’s POV**
Right now, I’m here in Busan on my college trip...Today I’m so happy… and at the same time, so scared.
Scared of my Jungguk hyung.
You know what? Hyung loves me more than anything in this world. He would burn the entire city down if someone even looked at me the wrong way. But that same love makes him terrifyingly strict about my safety.
He’s a mafia leader. The kind of man people whisper about in fear. Everyone bows their heads when he walks into a room. And because of who he is, he has enemies—too many enemies. We never know when someone might try to hurt us just to get to him.
That’s why my heart is racing right now.
For the very first time in my life… I ran away without telling him.
I’m in my first year of college. It only started a few weeks ago, and this trip was announced almost immediately. I asked hyung about it—like always. And like always, he said no. Flat out. No discussion. No maybe. Just… no.
My whole life has been like this: bodyguards shadowing me everywhere, bulletproof cars, weapons hidden in every corner of the house, the faint smell of blood that sometimes clings to hyung’s coat when he comes home late. I hate all of it. I hate the violence, the danger, the constant fear. I just want to be normal for once.
So this time… I did something crazy.
I jumped out of my bedroom window.
It wasn’t even that high. I landed safely, heart pounding, and ran to where the college bus was waiting. I made it. I actually made it.
The trip has been amazing so far. New friends, laughter, no one watching my every move, no one reporting back to hyung. I felt free. Truly free. But now… now the guilt and fear are creeping in. What will hyung do when he finds out? Will he be angry? Disappointed? Or worse… will he lock me up forever after this?
I was lost in these thoughts, sitting on a wooden bench near the lake, hugging my knees, when suddenly—

“kook-ah!” Jimin’s cheerful voice cut through the air. “Come on! Everyone’s playing football over there!”
The word *football* instantly lit up my face. I love football. It’s one of the few things that makes me forget everything else. I jumped up, grinning, and started walking with Jimin toward the open field.
That’s when my phone buzzed in my pocket.
I pulled it out.
The caller ID made my stomach drop.
**Hyung.**
My hands started shaking. I bit my lower lip hard, trying to calm myself. Hyung has never really scolded me before… because I’ve never done anything like this. This is the first time I’ve disobeyed him so openly. The first time I’ve run away.
I took a deep breath and answered.
OTP...
**Guk:** (calm, dangerously calm tone)
“Kook… do you even realize what kind of risk you just took? Running away like that… and for what? A stupid college trip?”
His voice was steady, but I could hear the storm underneath it. My throat tightened.
**Jk:** (voice small, guilty)
“I’m sorry, hyung… I just… I wanted to live a little. Just once. Like a normal person. I promise… I promise I won’t do anything like this again.”
There was silence for a few seconds. The kind of silence that makes your heart beat louder.
**Guk:**
“I’ve already sent my men. They’ll reach you in a few minutes. Stay where you are. Go back with them.”
My shoulders slumped. The happiness from earlier vanished like smoke. I stared at the ground, eyes stinging.
**Jk:** (softly, defeated)
“Okay, hyung… as you say.”
I swallowed hard, trying not to cry.
**Jk:**
“You’re not angry with me…?”
**Guk:** (a small, almost fond exhale)
“No. I’m not angry.
Honestly… when I was your age, I tried to do the exact same thing. Sneak out. Live a little.
I just never got caught.”
A tiny, surprised laugh escaped me despite everything. Hyung… sneaking out? I couldn’t even picture it.
**Guk:** (voice gentle now)
“My men will take some time to reach. Until then… enjoy. Play your football. Laugh with your friends.
But don’t disappear again, okay? Not without telling me.”
**Jk:** (whispering)
“Okay, hyung… thank you.”
He ended the call.
I stood there for a moment, phone still pressed to my ear even though the line was dead. My eyes were wet, but I wasn’t sad anymore. Not really.
Hyung wasn’t mad.
He understood.
I wiped my face quickly and turned to Jimin, who was waiting with a confused frown.
“Everything okay, Kook?”
I gave him my brightest bunny smile.
“Yeah… everything’s okay.
Let’s go play football.”
But deep down, I knew—
This little taste of freedom?
It might be the last one I ever get.

AUTHOR POV
The sun was beginning to dip lower, painting the open field in warm golden hues. Laughter echoed across the grass as a group of college boys chased the ball, shouting and cheering. In the middle of it all was Jeon Jungkook—sweaty, flushed cheeks, bunny smile wide and genuine, hair sticking to his forehead as he dribbled past his friends with surprising agility for someone so soft-looking.
Nearby, leaning against the railing of the hotel balcony on the second floor, stood Kim Taehyung.

He hadn't come here for leisure.
This trip was supposed to be quick-finalise a high-stakes arms deal in a neutral location, away from prying eyes in the city. But fate, or maybe just cruel coincidence, had other plans.
His sharp eyes had caught sight of the boy almost immediately.
That familiar face. Those big, innocent doe eyes. The way he laughed without a single shadow of the underworld hanging over him.
Jeon Jungkook.
Jeon Jungguk's only weakness.
Beside Taehyung stood Kai-his right-hand man, loyal to the bone, but always a little too eager for chaos.

Kai nudged him lightly, smirking as he nodded toward the field.
**Kai:** (low voice, amused)
"That's him, right? Jeon Jungguk's little brother."
**Taehyung:** (quiet, eyes never leaving Jungkook)
"I know."
**Kai:** (grinning wider)
"Say the word, boss. We could grab him right now. No one would even notice in this crowd. He's Jungguk's biggest soft spot. One move and we'd have the bastard on his knees."
Taehyung's jaw tightened. He watched as Jungkook jumped to head the ball, landing with a bright laugh, high-fiving his friend Jimin.
**Taehyung:** (cold, final)
"Seriously, Kai? He's a kid.
The Kim family doesn't use children or women as pawns. Never have. Never will."
**Kai:** (shrugging, not backing down)
"That was the old code, boss. Things change.
Love and war-everything's fair now."
Taehyung turned his head sharply, cutting him off with a single look.
The kind of look that made even Kai swallow his next words.
**Taehyung:** (voice low and final)
"The meeting we came for is done. We're leaving."
**Kai:** (nodding quickly)
"Okay, boss."
Taehyung was about to turn away-about to walk back into the shadows of his world-when his phone vibrated harshly in his pocket.
He answered without looking at the caller ID.
**Man on phone:** (panicked, breathless)
"Sir... the truck-the one loaded with the weapons we ordered-it never made it to the drop point.
Jeon Jungguk's men ambushed it on the highway. They hijacked the entire shipment and drove off with it."
The line went dead silent.
Taehyung's grip on the phone turned white-knuckled.
His breathing slowed, but the rage inside him ignited like gasoline on fire.
He didn't shout.
He didn't curse.
He simply ended the call with a soft click.
Then, staring straight at the oblivious boy laughing on the field, he spoke-quiet, venomous, as if Jeon Jungguk himself could hear him through the distance.
**Taehyung:** (to the ghost of his enemy)
"You always have to stick your fucking nose in my business, don't you, Jungguk?"
Kai stepped closer, sensing the shift in the air.
**Kai:**
"What happened?"
**Taehyung:** (voice dangerously calm)
"The weapons truck. Jungguk's men took it. Every last piece.
He's paying me back for what we did to him last time."
Kai let out a low whistle.
**Kai:**
"So... eye for an eye?"
Taehyung's gaze locked back on Jungkook.
The boy was now sitting on the grass, catching his breath, smiling up at the sky like the world was still kind.
Something dark flickered in Taehyung's eyes-something between fury and a twisted kind of fascination.
**Taehyung:** (soft, almost a whisper, but laced with finality)
"Take the kid.
Bring Jeon Jungkook with us."
Kai's eyes widened for a split second-surprise, then excitement.
**Kai:** (smirking slowly)
"Consider it done, boss."
Taehyung didn't respond.
He just kept watching the boy.
The innocent little brother who had no idea that his small act of rebellion today...
had just painted a target on his back.
And Kim Taehyung never left a debt unpaid.
To be continued...
