Chapter 1: The God of Spring & The Red Switch
For a thousand years, the Heavenly Realm and the Devil Realm have been at war. The sky is always black with smoke or gold with holy fire. Neither side can win.
The Heavenly Emperor is tired. He makes a deal with the Devil King, Lan Wangji.
The Deal: A marriage to stop the killing.
The Bride: The Emperor’s 2nd Princess.
The Devil King: Lan Wangji is known as a monster. He is cold-hearted, cruel, and merciless. He has never loved anyone.
The Genius Prince: Wei Wuxian
While everyone is scared of the marriage, the Emperor’s 3rd Son, Wei Wuxian, is busy.

The Generals instantly hit the floor in fear. Lan Wangji’s voice is like ice—cruel and merciless to everyone else. But when he turns back to Wei Wuxian, he gently takes his hand.

They enter the King’s private chambers. There are no bones or torture devices—just a very large, very cold stone bed.

Wei Wuxian cannot sleep. His Spring God energy is buzzing. He walks out to the balcony. The Demon Realm is dying—the water is poison, and the air is dry.

(Thinking)* My vision showed that if this land stays dead, the demons will eventually attack the Heavens again out of hunger. If I fix the land, I fix the war.*

Suddenly, the black stone of the palace begins to crack. From the cracks, glowing red flowers (Spider Lilies) and white magnolias begin to climb the walls. The poison river turns into clear, drinkable water.
As the land blooms, Wei Wuxian’s eyes suddenly turn silver. A Future Sign appears in his mind.
The Vision: He sees a shadow hiding in the Heavenly Palace. It is a Traitor. The Traitor is the one who scared the 2nd Princess into running away. They want the Devil King and the Heavenly Emperor to keep fighting so they can steal the throne.

(Whispering) "So... the war wasn't an accident. Someone wanted us to destroy each other."

(Appearing behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist) "Wei Ying. Why are you awake?"

(Leaning back into his husband’s cold, strong chest) "Lan Zhan... I see a tragedy coming. Someone in my home wants to hurt you to start the war again."

(His grip tightens, protectively) "Let them try. I am the Devil King. I will protect my wife, and I will protect our peace."
Chapter 3: The Traitor’s Shadow and the First Seed
The Morning After: A Changed Realm
When the sun (a dark, purple orb) rises over the Demon Realm, the demons scream in shock. The gray dust is gone. In its place, glowing gardens cover the black rocks. The air smells like rain and jasmine.
The Demon Generals
: "My King! The palace is... covered in weeds! Should we burn them?"

(Sitting on his throne, looking at a small flower Wei Wuxian tucked into his hair) "Touch one leaf, and I will burn you."
The General faints. To everyone else, Lan Wangji is still the cruel, merciless Devil King, but the palace staff notices he hasn't executed anyone all morning. He is too busy watching his husband.
Wei Wuxian isn't just gardening. He is sitting in the middle of a flower field with pieces of silver metal and spiritual papers.

"Lan Zhan! Look! I invented a way to spy on the Heavens without leaving your side. I call it the 'Butterfly Eye.'"
He tosses a paper butterfly into the air. It disappears into a portal. Suddenly, a holographic screen appears in front of them.
They see the Heavenly Palace.
The Traitor (A High Priest)
"The 3rd Prince is in the Demon Realm. Good. Once the Devil King realizes he was cheated out of a Princess, he will kill the boy. Then, the Emperor will attack in a rage. We will rule the ruins!"

(Laughing) "Oops. They think you're going to kill me, Lan Zhan. Are you going to kill me?"

(Pulls Wei Wuxian onto his lap, his face buried in Wei Wuxian’s neck) "Ridiculous. They do not know your worth."
As Wei Wuxian laughs, his Spring God eyes flash silver again. He sees a new vision, one that makes him gasp.
He sees himself and Lan Wangji standing on a mountain. In Wei Wuxian’s arms is a child. The child has Lan Wangji’s golden eyes and Wei Wuxian’s mischievous smile. But more importantly, the child is holding a sword that radiates both Black Demonic Energy and Gold Heavenly Light.

(Whispering) "A child... of both worlds? Lan Zhan, I saw our future. We have a son. He is the one who truly ends the war forever."
lan wangji
(His ears turn red, but his voice is firm) "Then we must ensure the world is safe for him to be born."
Suddenly, the sky above the Demon Realm cracks. The Heavenly Priest (the Traitor) has sent a "Cleansing Bolt" of lightning to destroy the "monsters." It is aimed directly at the gardens Wei Wuxian built.

"He’s trying to destroy my work to make you angry, Lan Zhan! He wants you to attack Heaven!"
