The Boys Who Watch Me

Epiode 1

I was standing in the corner of the cafeteria when the doors opened. Three figures walked in like they owned the space. The reaction was instant. Girls straightened their posture. People whispered. Phones lifted. Roman Ashford walked in first.

He was smiling. Just… warm. His blond hair caught the light. His blazer fit perfectly around his frame. He waved at a group of students like he actually cared about them. They reacted like he was royalty. He played the role too well. Like he had practiced it his entire life. Behind him walked Xavier Cole. He was laughing at something one of the girls said. Leaning slightly closer to her. Smirking.
Then there was the third guy. Damian Hale. He walked with calm precision. Eyes scanning the room. Observing everyone. He smiled politely, but it felt calculated. I crossed my arms and leaned back against the wall. So this is them. The famous trio everyone worships. The heart. The charm. The brain.
I watched Roman again. He laughed when someone said something funny. He signed a notebook for a student. He listened like he understood them. Everyone believed it. Everyone except me. Because when I really looked at his eyes… There was nothing. No emotion. No real reaction. His smile moved. But his gaze stayed empty. Like a mask stitched to his face. I narrowed my eyes. People call him the golden boy. Kind. Gentle. Perfect heir. But I see something different. He doesn’t feel. And the performance is flawless.
Later on-
It was night and I was walking to the library, because the quite and the night gives me peace
It was empty at this hour. Or so I thought. When I reached the door, it was locked. I frowned.
The library is never locked during study hours. I walked around the side hallway looking for another entrance. That’s when I heard voices. Familiar voices. Roman. Xavier. Damian. My heart slowed.
I followed the sound carefully. It led me to a narrow corridor behind a section of tall bookshelves. There was a door slightly open. Light spilled through the crack. Their voices were clear now. I moved closer. Careful. Silent. I pressed myself against the wall near the doorway and listened.

Upgrade the access permissions before tomorrow
Damian Hale

If anyone traces the data, it needs to disappear within minutes.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Already handled.
Roman replied without hesitation.
Xavier laughed lightly.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
Relax. Most of them are too busy fighting over popularity to notice anything.
Roman’s voice shifted slightly. Cold. Controlled.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
If someone starts questioning the structure, we eliminate the threat early.
Eliminate? My stomach tightened. Damian responded.
Damian Hale
Damian Hale
Two members are acting suspicious. I’m monitoring their communications
Xavier stretched lazily.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
People talk too much. Secrets always leak.
Secrets? Structure? Members? My brain tried to connect the words. This didn’t sound like normal school council planning. This sounded bigger. More dangerous. They were not talking about events. They were talking about control. About tracking people. About removing threats.
My breath hitched slightly. I stepped back instinctively. My shoe scraped against the floor. A small metal object near my foot shifted. It made a sharp sound. Click. The room went silent. I froze. Inside the room, Xavier’s voice dropped.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
Did you hear that?
Damian didn’t answer. Roman spoke quietly.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Yes
My heart pounded in my chest. The door slowly opened. Roman stepped out first. His smile was gone. His expression was no longer warm. His eyes locked onto mine instantly.
He walked toward me. He stopped only a few steps away. His voice was lower now.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Curiosity is dangerous, Elara
My name. He knows? How?
My hands tightened into fists. Behind him, Xavier and Damian stood watching. Roman’s gaze studied my face
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Tell me. How much did you hear?
The air between us shifted. And for the first time… I understood. Blackthorne Academy is not what it seems. And Roman Ashford… Is not the golden boy everyone believes he is. He is something else. Something built on power. And now I am standing directly inside his secret.

episode 2

Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
I heard enough
The words left my mouth before fear could swallow them.
Roman’s eyes locked onto mine. Cold. Measuring. Then he stepped forward.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
You understand what you walked into
His voice wasn’t loud. It didn’t need to be. I swallowed but didn’t look away.
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
Yes
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
She’s a threat
They weren’t spoken to insult me. They were spoken as a fact. As if my existence in that hallway had already been classified. My stomach tightened. Roman turned slightly toward Xavier and Damian.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
So what do we do with her?
He asked it like he was making a decision about a system failure. Not about a person. Xavier’s lips curved faintly.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
Threats usually disappear.
His tone was calm. Almost bored. Roman didn’t laugh. He didn’t correct him.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
If anyone finds out what she heard
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Then she becomes a liability
The word hit heavier than any direct threat. Liability. Something removable. Something disposable.
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
You think I would stay silent because you told me too
That question made something flicker in his eyes. Xavier let out a short breath ,amused. Roman didn’t react to my challenge. Instead, he turned slightly toward his friends.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Monitoring is safer
He made the decision clearly. Final.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
No one acts unless she attempts exposure.
His gaze shifted back to me
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
But if she leaks even one detail…
His expression turned colder
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
She’s removed
Damian nodded once.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Constant surveillance
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
We track her communications. Her interactions. Anyone she talks to
They were setting operational restrictions around my life. Roman continued.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
She moves. We know. She speaks. We hear.
That was the punishment. Xavier pushed off the wall. He walked past me slowly. Close enough that I felt the shift of air beside me. He leaned down slightly as he passed. His voice dropped.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
Don’t make us regret keeping you alive
There was no smile in it. No playful charm.
Damian followed. He gave me one evaluating glance before leaving.
Then Roman remained. Then quietly
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
You should have stayed invisible, Elara
Ouch
Before I could respond, he turned. And walked away. Xavier paused at the end of the hallway. He looked back. One glance. Before walking off
I walked out slowly. My legs felt heavier with every step. I reached my dorm building without speaking to anyone. When I opened the door… Mia was sitting on her bed. Scrolling through her phone. She looked up immediately.
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
Where were you? You look like you saw a ghost.
I closed the door quietly behind me. My hands were shaking. I forced myself to breathe. I sat down on my bed.
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
I was just studying.
The lie came out smooth. Mia stared at me for a second. Suspicious. But she didn’t push. I turned away from her gaze. Inside my head, one thought repeated itself. I was meant to stay invisible. That was the plan. Blend in. Graduate. Get rich. Disappear from their radar. But now… I wasn’t invisible anymore. And worse… They were watching

episode 3

The cafeteria was already loud when Mia and I walked in.
The usual morning noise that turned the room into a blur of voices. Except today the blur had a center. Three of them.
Roman Ashford sat in the middle table. To his right sat Damian Hale. Straight back, quiet. And Xavier Cole. He leaned back in his chair, long legs stretched under the table, saying something that made the girls around them laugh again.
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
Oh my god
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
They’re here early today.
We walked to an empty table a few rows away.
I sat down and forced my attention to the tray in front of me. Toast. Apple. Coffee. Focus on normal things.
Across the cafeteria, Xavier said something that made Roman glance toward the entrance. My stomach tightened. Roman’s eyes swept across the room lazily. And stopped. On me.
deliberate look that lingered a second too long before sliding away like it meant nothing
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
Wait, why are they looking over here?
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
*excited* you think they looking at us?
I took a bite of toast.
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
Don’t be stupid, We’re not exactly their social circle.
Xavier had followed Roman’s gaze. His eyes landed on me. Then a slow grin spread across his face.
He leaned slightly toward Roman, saying something low. Roman didn’t look impressed. Xavier chuckled anyway.
Then he pushed his chair back. Damian looked up immediately.
Damian Hale
Damian Hale
Where are you going
He ignores him
His path was very direct. Straight toward us. Mia went still beside me.
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
Oh my god,
Xavier stopped at our table and sat down
He rested his arm over the back of the chair and looked directly at me. Up close his smile was worse.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
Morning
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
*Annoyed* what do you want?
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
What’s with the cold reply?
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
*loudly* you weren’t this quite and cold last night, you enjoyed last night-
Mia choked on her drink.
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
I’m sorry, last night?
I slowly turned my head toward him. Xavier was watching me like this was the most entertaining moment of his week.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
You were very intense, didn’t expect that from you
A girl at the next table leaned closer, clearly listening.
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
Elara…?
I leaned forward slightly, voice low.
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
You know what happened last night, why are you making it seem like something else?
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
*loudly* what was that?
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
💢💢
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
*throw a strawberry at him*
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
*catch it with his hand and start eating it*
Elara Quinn
Elara Quinn
You are disgusting
His smile widened a little.
My fingers tightened around my fork. The library flashed through my mind. Roman’s cold voice. The threat hanging in the air like a knife.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
You were shaking when we finished, I thought you might run
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
I feel like I missed something
Xavier grinned.
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
You did
Across the cafeteria, a chair moved. I didn’t need to look to know who it was. You feel Roman before you see him
I lifted my eyes. He was already walking toward us.
He pulled the chair back and sat.
Mia Calaso
Mia Calaso
Uhh
Roman rested his arms on the table and looked at Xavier.
Roman Ashford
Roman Ashford
Finished?
Xavier Cole
Xavier Cole
I don’t know? Are we finished, Elara?
His eyes moved to me again
