"I'm gonna be late to school gosh I don't want to be late during my exams specially"

"Do your best like you always do Amanda"

"Sure mom thank you" I said and left, my exam started at 08:00 in the morning, it took me half an hour to reach school and it was already 07:30 I ran the whole way.

I was giving my final exams for 8th grade and I had to rush to look for my seat, Luckily I reached school at time and my friend Julia looked for my seat already.

The bell rang and we all started writing there was this one guy I couldn't stop noticing he had a scarf and inside the scarf was a cheat sheet he would pretend coughing and check the answers I was shocked because I never did such a thing.

Suddenly he felt someone was watching him and looked straight at me, I thought he would give me a sign of not telling anyone about this but surprisingly he just smiled showed me his cheat sheet and started writing that took me off guard but I thought to myself that I wouldn't meddle in his business and started writing.

When our exams ended I was with my friends and that guy came with my male friends. I kinda ignored him and he noticed it but instead of ignoring me back he started teasing me, he mimicked my voice which I thought was annoying, then after a while I got to know he was in the 6th grade and his name was Jonathan which was literally a bit of a mature name as compared to how he acted "childish".

The next day when I reached school he tried everything to annoy me, he followed me everywhere I went, started talking like me and gave me the annoying grin every time I noticed it.

After I got my results and aced the exam my teachers praised me and told me to work hard like I do now.

"She's always been the top student in our school I hope she'll keep this position secured until she's here."

My teacher said to my mom.

"I'll make sure she does", my mom replied.

They had the conversation on for half an hour and during that time I saw none other than Jonathan with his mother talking to a teacher she was clearly scolding him and he looked down on the ground probably because he was embarrassed and didn't want to look at anyone, a big mistake to think it that way, because when he saw me he gave me that grin, that annoying grin like he was on the top of the world type of grin again, like he has achieved something, an award for something really big, maybe he did achieve the award for annoying me in every possible way, I looked back at my mom and teacher who had just finished their conversation and were bidding each other farewell. It was time for me to leave and when I passed by him, he said in a low voice which only I could hear, "Looking forward to meet you next year, senior" I glared at him and he just grinned again the same annoying grin, ohh the audacity!

A new year, a new grade and a new beginning. I'm now in 9th grade and am looking forward to this year.

"Amanda, are you ready?"

"Yes mom just a minute", I looked in the mirror for one last time and said to myself "You've got this Amanda, do your best".

I reached school and met my friends I gave them a warm hug, then walked towards our class.

I was walking with my friends and was so interested in their conversation that I didn't look ahead and bumped into someone, I apologised and looked up to see who it was and as fate had it, it was none other than Jonathan with his annoying grin again.

He looked down at me grinned once more, ohh how much I would love to make him regret about his annoying grin, he then bent down leaned in to my ear and whispered "be careful senior you might just fall" and stood straight to look at me, I rolled my eyes and said "you wish I would" and looked away, he grinned and said "Well I would love to" then leaned in to my ear to complete his sentence and again whispered "in love with you", he then looked at me to see how I would react and chuckled.

I rolled my eyes again and left, my friends teased me about it and I told them not to spout out nonsense. Our class started and we forgot about it. I focused on class with full concentration I wanted to secure the spot I had again this year.

During our lunch break my friends asked me if I wanted to go to the washroom since they were going, I said I'll wait for them here, so they left. I started writing some notes when someone sat next to me I looked and it was Josh a guy from 10th grade, I've had a crush on him since 2 years and he would help me with some of my problems I couldn't solve.

He turned to me and said "do you have any problems that you would like me to solve?" I replied "It's okay senior, thank you so much, you have been helping me since a really long time". He smiled, and said "C'mon Amanda you've known me for so long, just address me by my name". I looked at him and said "Okay, thank you Josh", he gave me a smirk. I thought to myself what was that about, my friends came back just then and Josh said "Okay Amanda see you later" he smiled and I smiled back and waved at him.

The entire day went well until school ended and I saw Jonathan outside our class, I passed by him but he held my hand and asked me to stop I asked him why he looked at me with puppy eyes and said "I need you to act like my girlfriend for a month".

I looked back in shock and said "Have you lost your mind?".

He said "listen to me this once the reason is...."
