Chapter 1 – The Ice CEO
Morning sunlight reflected off the glass walls of Aurora Group’s headquarters, making the tall building shine against the busy city skyline. Inside the lobby, employees hurried past one another, carrying coffee cups and documents as another workday began. Standing near the reception desk was a young man holding a folder tightly against his chest.
Sim Jake. Today was his first day as an intern. Jake looked around the massive lobby with wide eyes. Everything felt bigger than he expected—the building, the number of employees, even the quiet pressure in the air.
Sim Jake
“Wow…” he whispered to himself. “This place is huge.”
Behind the reception desk, Kim Nari smiled kindly.
Kim Nari
“You must be one of the new interns,” she said.
Sim Jake
“Yes! Sim Jake. I’m starting in the Executive Department today.”
Nari’s eyes widened slightly.
Kim Nari
“The Executive Department?”
Sim Jake
“Yeah… is that bad?”
Nari hesitated for a moment before laughing softly.
Kim Nari
“Well… let’s just say you’ll be working very close to someone important.”
Before Jake could ask another question, the lobby suddenly became quiet. Employees walking past immediately straightened their posture. Some even stepped aside. Jake blinked in confusion.
Sim Jake
“What’s going on…?”
Then he heard it. The sound of firm footsteps echoing across the marble floor. Jake slowly turned his head toward the entrance. A tall man in a perfectly tailored black suit walked inside, his expression calm and unreadable.
His presence alone seemed to freeze the entire room. No one spoke. No one even breathed too loudly. Jake leaned toward the receptionist and whispered,

“That,” she said carefully,
“is Park Sunghoon.”
Jake tilted his head slightly.

“The one everyone calls…”
As if sensing something, Sunghoon’s sharp eyes briefly swept across the lobby.
But the CEO had already looked away, continuing toward the elevator as if nothing had happened.
He rubbed the back of his neck.

“Guess my first day just got a lot more interesting.”
He had just caught the attention of the coldest man in the entire company. ❄️
Chapter 2 – Unexpected Assignment
Jake followed the other interns through the long hallway of the Executive Department, trying his best to look calm.
But inside, his heart was still racing.

So that’s Park Sunghoon.
He still couldn’t forget the moment their eyes met in the lobby. It only lasted a second, but something about the CEO’s gaze felt… intense.

“Alright everyone,”
Yang Jungwon said, standing in front of the group with a tablet in his hand.

“Welcome to the Aurora Group Intern Program.”
The interns gathered around him, listening carefully.

“You’ll be rotating through different department.”

“But some of you will assist the executive team directly.”
Jake raised his hand slightly.

“Does that mean… meetings and stuff like that?”
Yang Jungwon
“Yes. But don’t worry. You’ll mostly be doing research, preparing documents, and helping with small tasks.”
Behind Jake, Han Minwoo whispered dramatically.
Han Minwoo
“Small tasks? I heard the executives here are terrifying.”
Sim Jake
“Come on, it can’t be that bad.”
Before Jungwon could continue, someone suddenly approached from the hallway. The entire room immediately went silent. Jake felt the atmosphere change again. He slowly turned his head. And there he was. Park Sunghoon. The CEO stood at the entrance, his posture straight, his expression calm as always.
Jungwon bowed his head slightly.
Yang Jungwon
“Good morning, sir.”
Sunghoon nodded once. His sharp eyes scanned the group of interns. For a moment, Jake hoped the CEO wouldn’t recognize him from the lobby. But then— Sunghoon’s gaze stopped. Right on him. Jake froze. Sunghoon spoke calmly.
Jungwon looked surprised.
Park Sunghoon
“Yes, you,” Sunghoon said.
The room became even quieter. Sunghoon stepped closer, his voice steady.
Park Sunghoon
“Sim Jake, correct?”
How does he know my name already?!
Sunghoon turned slightly toward Jungwon.
Park Sunghoon
“I need an intern to assist with a report for this afternoon’s executive meeting.”
Yang Jungwon
“Of course, sir. I can assign someone.”
Sunghoon looked back at Jake.
Park Sunghoon
“I’ll take him."
Every intern in the room stared at Jake in shock. Even Jungwon seemed surprised.
Jake pointed at himself awkwardly.
Sunghoon’s expression didn’t change.
Park Sunghoon
“My office. Ten minutes.”
Then the CEO turned and walked away as if the decision required no explanation.
The moment he disappeared down the hallway—
Minwoo grabbed Jake’s arm.
Han Minwoo
“You just got personally selected by the Ice CEO on your first day.”
Jake swallowed nervously.
He shook his head dramatically.
Han Minwoo
“Jake, people in this company would rather fight a deadline than be alone in that office.”
Jake looked toward the hallway where the CEO disappeared.
His heart started beating faster again.
