Blood Drip

Blood Drip

Episode 1:Blood Drip

The rain fell softly over the city streets. Neon signs flickered in puddles forming on cracked pavement. Shadows moved between abandoned buildings, and the air smelled like smoke and wet concrete.

Kakaido crouched behind a dumpster, his eyes scanning the alley. His breath was steady, but there was tension in his shoulders.

Kakaido: Damnit, he knows I’m here

Julo stumbled behind him, holding his jacket over his head to avoid the rain.

Julo: Wait, what about me? Am I gonna die here? I haven’t even got laid yet

Kakaido: Shut up, it’s not the time to be worrying about that. The world’s on the line and maybe even your life too

From the shadows came a voice, low and mocking.

Kikuda: Come on out, Kakaido… I can hear your blood flowing through your body

Kakaido’s eyes widened slightly.

Kakaido: He can literally hear my blood

Julo: Seriously? That’s… terrifying

Kakaido: Keep your voice down or he’ll hear that too

The alley went quiet except for the sound of dripping water and distant thunder. Kakaido’s hand rested on the edge of the dumpster, feeling the cold metal.

Kakaido: I can’t let him catch me

Julo peeked around nervously.

Julo: Can’t we just… run?

Kakaido: Not fast enough. He’s looking for me specifically

Another laugh echoed from the shadows.

Kikuda: Come out, come out whenever you are… Kakaido

Kakaido’s jaw clenched.

Kakaido: He’s toying with us

Julo: I don’t like toying with bloodthirsty guys who can hear your heart

Kakaido: Focus, Julo. Stay close and don’t make a sound

A piece of broken glass crunched underfoot. Kakaido tensed. Kikuda’s laughter grew louder.

Kikuda: There’s no hiding, Kakaido. I can smell fear, even yours, human friend

Julo froze.

Julo: Human friend? He’s calling me a friend? That’s… weird

Kakaido pushed Julo gently back.

Kakaido: Don’t move

Kikuda’s shadow shifted at the end of the alley, almost like he was melting into the darkness.

Kikuda: I just want a taste. Just one drop

Julo’s eyes widened.

Julo: Taste… of what exactly?

Kakaido: My blood

Julo: Wait, seriously?

Kakaido: Yes, seriously. Stay behind me

Kikuda stepped forward slowly, his movements casual but deliberate.

Kikuda: I like games, Kakaido. And this is the best game I’ve had in a long time

Kakaido’s fist tightened around the edge of the dumpster. He could feel his body start to react, his senses sharpening.

Kakaido: Not for long

Julo: You’re really calm about this?

Kakaido: It’s the only way to survive

Kikuda’s laugh rang through the alley again.

Kikuda: Let’s see what you’ve got

The first drop of rain slid down Kakaido’s face as he prepared to make his move.

Kakaido: Alright… let’s end this before it even begins

Julo: You said that already

Kakaido: Then pay attention, you might learn something

Kikuda crouched slightly, his eyes glinting with amusement.

Kikuda: Ready or not, here I come

Kakaido sprang from behind the dumpster, rolling to the side as Kikuda lunged forward with an almost impossible speed.

Julo: Whoa!

Kakaido: Stay back!

The alley erupted into chaos. Kakaido dodged, twisted, and used the shadows as cover. Kikuda’s laughter bounced off the walls, echoing over the rain.

Kakaido: I need to tire him out

Julo: How do you tire someone like that?

Kakaido: You don’t… you just survive

They darted past abandoned crates, jumped over puddles, and kicked debris to block Kikuda’s path.

Kikuda: You can’t run forever, Kakaido

Kakaido: I don’t plan on running

For a brief moment, Kakaido caught sight of an open window on the second floor of a building.

Kakaido: That way, follow me

Julo: Wait, what about…

Kakaido: Just move

The two of them vanished into the shadows, disappearing from Kikuda’s immediate view. The alley fell silent except for the rain.

Kikuda: Clever, but not enough

He crouched low, smiling as the camera zoomed in on his eyes.

Kikuda: The game has just begun

Episode 2:Nowhere to Hide

Rain continued pouring over the city, water running through the streets and down the sides of old buildings. Neon lights flickered in puddles while distant thunder rumbled in the sky.

Inside an abandoned apartment building, Kakaido and Julo climbed through a broken window and collapsed onto the dusty floor.

Julo: Okay… okay… I’m officially done running for today

Kakaido stood up immediately and looked out the window toward the alley they came from.

Kakaido: We’re not safe yet

Julo groaned and rolled onto his back.

Julo: Of course we’re not

The room around them looked like it hadn’t been used in years. Broken furniture was scattered across the floor and the walls were stained from water damage.

Julo slowly sat up.

Julo: So… maybe now would be a great time to explain why that guy wants your blood

Kakaido stayed quiet for a moment.

Julo noticed.

Julo: You do know, right?

Kakaido: I know enough

Julo: Which means you’re not gonna tell me

Kakaido looked away from the window and leaned against the wall.

Kakaido: If you know too much, you become a target

Julo blinked.

Julo: I’m already a target! The guy literally called me your human friend!

Kakaido sighed.

Kakaido: Fair point

Julo crossed his arms.

Julo: So start talking

Kakaido looked down at his hands for a moment.

Kakaido: My blood… isn’t normal

Julo: I figured that part out when the psycho vampire started hunting you

Kakaido shook his head slightly.

Kakaido: If someone else had it… their body would regenerate almost instantly

Julo froze.

Julo: Wait… like healing?

Kakaido: More than that

Julo slowly stood up.

Julo: You’re saying if someone injected your blood into themselves…

Kakaido: They’d almost never die

Julo stared at him.

Julo: That’s… actually insane

Kakaido: Exactly

Julo rubbed his face.

Julo: And that guy out there wants that power

Kakaido: Yes

Julo paced around the room nervously.

Julo: I’m starting to see why this is bad

Kakaido: That’s why you should stay away from me

Julo stopped walking.

Julo: Oh no

Kakaido: What?

Julo pointed at him.

Julo: We are NOT doing the dramatic “you need to leave me behind” thing

Kakaido frowned.

Kakaido: Julo—

Julo: Nope. Too late. I already helped you escape a murder clown

Kakaido: He’s not a clown

Julo: He laughs while trying to kill people. That counts

Kakaido almost smirked but stopped himself.

Then suddenly—

A loud metal crash echoed from somewhere in the building.

Both of them froze.

Julo whispered.

Julo: Please tell me that was just a raccoon

Kakaido’s eyes sharpened.

Kakaido: Stay behind me

Slow footsteps echoed from the hallway outside the room.

Julo: That’s not a raccoon

Kakaido slowly walked toward the door.

The hallway light flickered through the cracked doorway.

Then a familiar voice echoed down the hall.

Kikuda: Kakaidoooo

Julo’s face dropped.

Julo: Oh come on

Kakaido clenched his fists.

Kakaido: He found us already

Kikuda’s footsteps echoed closer.

Kikuda: You really thought a building would hide you?

Julo whispered.

Julo: I kinda did

The door slowly creaked open.

Kikuda stood there smiling like he had just walked into a party.

His clothes were soaked from the rain, but he looked completely relaxed.

Kikuda: There you are

Julo slowly raised his hands.

Julo: Before this gets violent, I’d like to say I’m just the roommate

Kikuda tilted his head.

Kikuda: Oh I know

He pointed at Julo casually.

Kikuda: The human friend

Julo: Still weird

Kakaido stepped forward.

Kakaido: Leave him out of this

Kikuda laughed.

Kikuda: You’re in no position to make requests

He slowly walked into the room.

Kikuda: I’ve been searching for you all night

Kakaido: Then stop searching

Kikuda grinned wider.

Kikuda: Why would I do that?

In an instant—

Kakaido lunged forward and swung a punch.

Kikuda leaned sideways, barely dodging it.

Kikuda: Oh good, we’re skipping the small talk

Kakaido attacked again.

This time Kikuda grabbed his arm and threw him across the room.

Kakaido crashed through a broken table.

Julo jumped back.

Julo: Yep! Definitely violent!

Kakaido quickly rolled back to his feet.

Kikuda cracked his neck slightly.

Kikuda: You’re faster than most humans

Kakaido: I’m not most humans

Kikuda’s eyes gleamed.

Kikuda: Exactly why I want your blood

Kakaido charged again.

This time their fists collided.

The impact shook the room and cracked the floorboards beneath them.

Julo stared in disbelief.

Julo: Okay… that’s definitely not normal

Kakaido pushed forward, forcing Kikuda back toward the hallway.

Kakaido: Julo! Go!

Julo: What?!

Kakaido: Now!

Julo hesitated.

Kikuda laughed again.

Kikuda: Running again? That’s boring

Kakaido swung again, knocking Kikuda into the hallway wall.

Kakaido: MOVE!

Julo finally ran for the stairs.

Kikuda watched him leave.

Kikuda: He’s loyal

Kakaido: Focus on me

Kikuda smiled.

Kikuda: Gladly

The two rushed toward each other again as the fight exploded into the hallway.

Downstairs, Julo sprinted toward the exit.

Julo: Why is this my life now?!

Upstairs—

The battle between Kakaido and Kikuda continued, shaking the old building.

Kikuda laughed through every strike.

Kikuda: This is fun!

Kakaido: I’m not playing your game

Kikuda grinned.

Kikuda: Oh but you already are

Outside, thunder crashed across the sky.

And the night had only just begun.

Episode 3:Breathing Room

The rain had finally stopped.

Morning light crept slowly over the city, reflecting off puddles and broken glass scattered through the streets. The abandoned apartment building stood quiet again, though parts of the hallway upstairs were cracked from the fight.

Outside, Julo leaned against a rusted street sign trying to catch his breath.

Julo: I swear… if someone else tries to kill us today I’m just gonna lay down and accept it

A few seconds later, the building door slammed open.

Kakaido stepped out, dust covering his clothes and a fresh cut across his cheek.

Julo straightened up.

Julo: Took you long enough

Kakaido looked around the street carefully before walking over.

Kakaido: He left

Julo blinked.

Julo: Wait… what?

Kakaido: He backed off

Julo stared at him.

Julo: That guy was laughing while trying to break your spine and he just… left?

Kakaido nodded slightly.

Kakaido: For now

Julo rubbed the back of his neck.

Julo: I really hate the words “for now”

Kakaido leaned against the wall beside him.

For the first time since the chase started, both of them were quiet.

Julo looked over at him.

Julo: You look terrible

Kakaido glanced down at the cut on his arm.

The wound was slowly closing.

Julo noticed immediately.

Julo: Okay hold on

He grabbed Kakaido’s arm and stared at it.

Julo: That… that was a deep cut two seconds ago

Kakaido pulled his arm back.

Kakaido: It heals

Julo blinked.

Julo: Yeah I can see that

The wound continued closing until only a faint line remained.

Julo stared like he’d just seen magic.

Julo: I’m living with Wolverine

Kakaido: I don’t know who that is

Julo sighed.

Julo: Of course you don’t

They started walking down the empty street together.

Julo kicked a loose rock as they walked.

Julo: So… what now?

Kakaido: We keep moving

Julo groaned.

Julo: Again with the moving

Kakaido: Staying in one place makes it easier to track us

Julo: Pretty sure the psycho blood hunter already knows where we are

Kakaido stayed quiet.

Julo looked over again.

Julo: Wait… he DOES know where we are, doesn’t he?

Kakaido: Probably

Julo stopped walking.

Julo: Fantastic

Kakaido kept walking.

Julo quickly caught up.

Julo: You know most people would panic in this situation

Kakaido: Panic wastes energy

Julo: Yeah well normal people aren’t hunted for their blood

They turned a corner and entered a quieter part of the district.

The buildings here looked older, with boarded windows and faded signs.

Julo looked around.

Julo: So this is where we’re hiding now?

Kakaido: Temporary stop

Julo sighed.

Julo: Everything with you is temporary

They reached a small convenience store that looked like it had been closed for years.

Kakaido pushed the door open.

The bell above it made a weak clink.

Inside, dust covered the shelves and the refrigerators were empty.

Julo looked around.

Julo: Wow… luxury

Kakaido walked to the back wall and sat down.

Julo grabbed a chair that was somehow still standing and flipped it around to sit backwards on it.

Julo: You know… you still haven’t told me something

Kakaido looked at him.

Julo: That guy

Kakaido: What about him

Julo: The laughing maniac chasing you

Kakaido crossed his arms.

Kakaido: What about him

Julo leaned forward.

Julo: Who is he?

Kakaido thought for a moment.

Kakaido: Someone who likes games

Julo stared at him.

Julo: That’s the worst explanation ever

Kakaido: He enjoys hunting

Julo: Yeah I noticed

Kakaido: And he enjoys winning

Julo leaned back in the chair.

Julo: So we’re basically his entertainment

Kakaido nodded once.

Julo sighed.

Julo: I liked life better when the biggest problem I had was rent

Suddenly—

A loud crash echoed somewhere outside.

Both of them froze.

Julo slowly turned his head toward the door.

Julo: Tell me that was a cat

Kakaido stood up.

Kakaido: Stay here

Julo: Oh no we’re not doing that again

Kakaido walked toward the door anyway.

Julo quickly followed.

Outside, the street looked empty.

But something felt off.

The wind moved through the alley beside the store, pushing loose papers across the ground.

Kakaido scanned the rooftops.

Julo whispered.

Julo: Do you see him?

Kakaido: No

Julo: That’s worse

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then somewhere in the distance—

A faint laugh echoed through the streets.

Both of them froze.

Julo slowly turned toward Kakaido.

Julo: That’s him, right?

Kakaido didn’t answer.

But his fists clenched.

The laugh echoed again, bouncing between buildings.

Julo: He’s not even hiding anymore

Kakaido stepped back toward the store entrance.

Kakaido: We need to move again

Julo groaned loudly.

Julo: Of course we do

Kakaido started walking down the street.

Julo followed behind him.

Julo: You know what the worst part is?

Kakaido: What

Julo: I’m starting to get used to this

Kakaido almost smiled.

But only for a second.

Far above them, on the roof of a tall building across the street—

A figure crouched at the edge, watching them leave.

Kikuda smiled.

Kikuda: Run as much as you want

He rested his chin on his hand like someone watching a movie.

Kikuda: It only makes the game longer

The wind carried his laughter across the city again.

And somewhere below, Kakaido could feel that they were still being watched.
