World of Gods

Chapter 0

Long ago, in ancient times when almost nothing existed in the universe, the gods were at war with one another. They had no king and no leader, and when it came time to decide who should rule over all the gods, they began fighting among themselves. This war lasted for millions of years.

But then a powerful god appeared—one who was not afraid of the other gods, their anger, or their power. He was the God of Light—Licht. Licht was kind, brave, wise, powerful, and intelligent. At first, however, no one liked him, and no one wanted to allow him to become the King of the Gods. Yet he continued fighting until the others finally accepted him.

When they eventually accepted him and made him the King of the Gods, peace came for a short time. But soon all the gods saw his true face. He was neither wise nor kind—he was cruel, insane, and a dangerous psychopath.

The gods wanted to overthrow him from the throne, but they could not. They feared his power like that of no other god before him. And so they allowed him to continue ruling.

The Era of Bad Days may have ended when Licht became the King of the Gods, but soon another era began—the Era of the God of Light and it was far worse.

A few years later

We find ourselves in a massive house—or rather a mansion—floating in space. This is where Licht lives.

Into the great hall walks Chyproe, the Goddess of Prophecies.

Chyproe shouts loudly:

“Licht!”

In his bedroom, Licht hears her shout. He wakes up, walks into the large hall, and begins complaining about why she woke him. He asks what could possibly be so important that it couldn’t wait until later.

Chyproe begins to speak and tells him the reason:

“I had a vision. I saw that one day a god will overthrow you from the throne.”

Suddenly, silence fills the hall.

After a short moment, Licht begins to laugh. But it is not a normal laugh. His laughter reeks of rot, hatred, and bloodlust.

Then Licht asks:

“And who is this god who is supposed to overthrow me?”

Chyproe answers that it will be the son of his brother, Emit.

The moment Licht hears who it is supposed to be, he immediately calls for his knight, Aurelius, and orders him to bring his brother and the child to him.

Chyproe is horrified when she realizes what Licht will likely do to his brother and nephew.

After a short while, Emit arrives—the God of Time. He comes holding his son, who is still just a baby.

Emit asks why Licht summoned him to his mansion and why he had to bring his son with him.

Licht then tells Chyproe to explain the reason.

After a moment, Emit learns the truth and says:

“That can’t be possible.”

But Licht replies:

“It is possible. Her prophecies are never wrong.”

Emit asks what Licht intends to do. But at that moment he realizes what Licht is planning.

“You can’t do this! You’re not planning to do this to my son, are you?!” Emit shouts.

A twisted smile appears on Licht’s face.

“So someone finally understands,” he says.

At that moment, Chyproe begins to regret ever telling him about her vision.

Licht orders Emit to hand over the child immediately. But Emit refuses and does something that only a desperate parent could do.

Using magic, he sends his son far away—deep into the universe.

Licht becomes furious and begins to rage.

“Divine Light Magic: Sword of Light!”

He shouts the spell, which creates a sword made of pure light, and immediately attacks. He rushes toward Emit and tries to cut him in half.

But Emit pulls a blade from the top of his staff and blocks the attack.

The God of Light and the God of Time begin to fight.

Licht attacks again and again, driven by fury and bloodlust.

But Emit refuses to give up and deflects his attacks with great courage.

In the end, however, Emit loses.

After his defeat, Licht brings him before the Council of the Gods, where his fate will be decided.

But what happened—or will happen—to his son?

Will he truly overthrow Licht one day and end his tyranny?

Or has Chyproe made a mistake in her prophecy for the very first time?

We will find out in the next chapter.

Chapter 1

We find ourselves on a small planet called Qrerc. This planet is not very well known; although food and livestock are traded here, that is all.

In a small village called Kento, there is a church where a young fourteen-year-old boy named Lioneus lives with his stepfather, Father Aldric, as well as his step-siblings Yoichi and Aphrodite.

The sun appeared in the sky as a sign that the roosters of Kento should begin waking the villagers with their beautiful crowing.

Father Aldric woke up and began preparing breakfast for his children, while Aphrodite and Yoichi had already come down to the table. Father Aldric asked whether Lioneus was still asleep since he wasn’t there yet. Yoichi replied, “Yes, he’s still asleep. You know no one can wake him easily.” Aphrodite asked if she should wake him, but Father Aldric said there was no need and that he should sleep in today.

In truth, however, Lioneus was not asleep in his room. He was awake, but lost in his thoughts. He didn’t know why, but he felt that something was about to happen. In the end, he decided to let it go. He got out of bed, got dressed, and then went downstairs to the table for breakfast.

After Lioneus came downstairs, Father Aldric and his siblings greeted him, and Father Aldric gave him pancakes. Yoichi made a bit of fun of Lioneus, but Lioneus didn’t care and paid no attention; he simply ate and stared out the window. However, Yoichi had had enough of being ignored, so he lightly hit him and told him to pay attention when people talk to him. Lioneus just looked at him and then turned back to the window.

Father Aldric told Yoichi not to hit his brother, and he also told Lioneus not to provoke him. Then, excitedly, he announced some news to the children—a piece of news that only he seemed happy about. The news was that the Cardinal of Light would be coming to the village of Kento. And as it turned out, only Father Aldric was truly pleased; Aphrodite felt sorry for him, so she pretended to be happy, Yoichi didn’t really care, and Lioneus arrogantly and coldly asked why the Cardinal of Light would visit such a backwater place.

Father Aldric replied that the Cardinal of Light is someone who oversees all villages, checking whether they are in good condition and whether they need help, and that he comes regardless of whether it is a remote place or a great kingdom. Lioneus realized that he shouldn’t upset his stepfather, so he stopped provoking him and simply continued eating his breakfast.

After everyone had finished breakfast, Father Aldric asked Lioneus to deliver an important letter to the postman, Sam. Lioneus didn’t object and went to deliver it.

Meanwhile, not far from the road leading to the village of Kento, a horse-drawn carriage appeared. A knight riding a white horse announced that they were almost at the village. From inside the carriage, a calm voice replied, “Excellent.”
