Her magic responds.
The air trembles.
The flowers bloom all around her.
A palace mage nearby witnesses it and whispers in fear:

The throne hall of the Valtheris Kingdom was as grand as Lycoris remembered.
Tall marble pillars stretched toward a painted ceiling, sunlight spilling through enormous windows and turning the polished floor into a mirror. Nobles stood in clusters, whispering behind jeweled fans and embroidered sleeves.
They always whispered.
Today was no different.
But the subject of their whispers had returned... changed.
The massive doors opened with a deep echo.

"Princess Lycoris Valtheris has arrived." [He announced]
Lycoris walked in slowly, the sound of her boots echoing across the hall. Her long dark hair fell over her shoulders like a shadow, and her crimson eyes scanned the room without emotion.
She noticed how the nobles instinctively stepped aside.

Lycoris walked forward and stopped several steps away from the throne.
She rested her right clenched palm on the left side of her chest, at her heart. Lowering her head barely, just to acknowledge them. Not out of respect, but duty.
Everyone knew lycoris Valtheris didn't bow, not to any royal except her family— but wait? Did she just not address her own royal family?
