Hope's pov

'Bzzz bzzzz ' I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing early in the morning

Today I am supposed to get a new mission

My name is Hope  parker, I am 22 years of age. I work at a publishing company but I am also a CIA agent

I see the time and I get dressed for work

I decided to go to the bureau first and see the mission I have been assigned to

"Hey hope" my best friend,Faith,said . Her and I have been friends since childhood and become an agent together. She is 22 years old.

"Hey faith" I replied as ran and hugged me

"Did you get your new mission?" she asked

"That is where I am going now" I told her

"I wish I could join you but I have to go now,see ya!" She said with excitement

"Where are you going? We work at the same publishing company remember" I asked her

"Andrew is coming to pick me up" she said. Andrew is her boyfriend as well as my elder brother. They have been dating for three months now

"Ok have fun" I waved at her and went to see the director

I arrived at the office and knocked

'knock knock knock'

"Coming in" I heard him say. I went in and found him sipping some coffee

"Good morning director" I greeted him with a smile

"Good morning Hope, this file contains your new mission" he said

I took the file and began to read it. The more I read the shocked I become

."si... sir, you want me to be an undercover secretary for Ethan James?" I ask with shock still on my face

"Yes, we need you to get as close as possible to him. You can even be his girlfriend for that matter, we just want to make sure he is not engaging in any illegal activities you can return to your normal life after that" he said with a calm face

"But how will I become his secretary let alone his girlfriend" I asked

"Our Intel tells us he is looking for a new secretary and we already have your application ready and you already got the job. you just have to go there tomorrow morning" he explained

"Ok sir I'll do it" I said

"That would be all then" and with that I left the room

I went to the publishing house were I found faith already working

"So what is you new mission" she asked more excited than me

I told her everything and I could see the shock on her face

"Wait, you will be working for thee Ethan James??, As in the youngest billionaire who owns EJ corporation" she asked

"Yes"that is all I could tell her

"Wow, just don't get yourself hurt in this" she told me

"I won't I promise" I reassured a with a smile

The rest of the day went by quickly and it was time to go home. I said good bye to Faith and went to my apartment.

That night I could sleep, I wondered how tomorrow will be and how my new boss would treat me. Was he cold and ruthless like they say about him. I guess only time could tell as I slowly drifted to sleep.

Hope's pov

I wake up early in the morning time to plan myself to go to the company and meet my new boss

this has to be the hardest mission after being a good ready and my 730 I had off to the company as I enter see receptionist

"good morning" I say

"good morning to you too what can I do for you"

" I am the you Secretary for Mr Ethan James" I say to her

"okay go straight and take the elevator to the safety 50 floor" she says to me

I smile at her and do at I have been instructed whenever is the top I see a woman, out of it office " good morning" I say

"Good morning to you too" she say

"where is Mr James' office?"

" its the office on the corner of the hall"

"thank you" I say

I reach there and see an office made of tinted class. I knock on it

"come in" a hear someone say

I enter and saw him seated on his chair busy on his laptop

"good morning sir I am in you Secretary" I say

"Ohh" he says and looks up to look at me with those emerald eyes "good morning, you will be working from inside this office at that corner and here is a list of rules you must follow" he says and hands me a piece of paper. I take it and go sit in the corner he had pointed and start reading the rules

1- no late coming

2- no unnecessary absence

3- no office romance

4- no mixing of person life with work life

And soo many more rules. I look at him and see him working on his laptop 'how am I supposed to be his girlfriend with all these rules' I think and decide to get back to my work

Ethan's pov

I take glances at her as she is working. 'what is happening to me', I brush it off and decide to concentrate on my work

"Hope"I call her name

"Yes sir"she replies,

"We have a meeting with Mr Simon and you will be coming with me. I need you to take important points and tell me what you think of his proposal"I explain to her

"Okay" she say and we go to the meeting room

The meeting was an hour long and I could see her busy with her work

After it ended, we went back to the office

"What do you think about his offer"I say

"From what I think, his offer is a 50-50 profitable offer and with it's location, it will easily be raised to about 500 million as our annual profit, and so I think we should agree to it"she finishes says and I am in utter shock at her intelligence level

"I'm impressed with you,so far you are the smartest assistant I have had"I compliment her and see her blush ' she is soo cute when she blushes' I think to my self

"Thank you sir" she says with her smile which I like

The rest of the they went by quickly and I saw that it was 9:30 p.m.

"Aren't you going home?" I asked her

"I did not have attention to the time" she says "I should get going now"

" it's okay, let me drop you off" I say

" no sir you don't have to" she tries to refuse "I'll go by myself"

"It's my fault you're going home late just drop you off" I say and she nodes her head

The drive to her place was only for 30 minutes

"Right there" she says pointing to an apartment and I stop the car and she gets off

"Thank you sir"she says "and good night"

"Good night, Hope"I say and drive off to my penthouse

I live alone and sometimes it gets lonely so I usually send my time in the office. I open the refrigerator to find anything I can it and I find noodles and reheat them and eat them

After that I take a shower but I can't seem to stop thinking about Hope. I get dressed in my pajamas and get ready for bed and think about my next meeting with Hope which is just tomorrow

Hope's pov

  It's been a week since I started working for Ethan James and I have gotten used to his schedule. I get ready and head to work, I make him his cup of coffee and go to the office

  "Good morning sir" I say "here is you cup of coffee" I say while handing it to him

  "Thank you" he says and I smile and go to my seat to start my work

  Ethan's pov

  I take glances at her as she does her work. It has been a week since she started working here and I feel myself slowly getting attracted to her and possessive over her.

  As I look at her I almost forget to tell her about the business trip we are supposed to go on tomorrow to France

  "Hope?" I call her

  "Yes sir" she replies and looks at me

  "The project we are working on in France with Mr Simon is almost complete and we therefore need to go there to have a meeting as well as inspect the progress made and so we will be going there tomorrow and we will be staying there for a month. I have a penthouse there that we can stay in, is that okay with you?" I say to her

  "I have no problem with that sir" she says

  "Good, then I'll pick you up from your apartment around 8" I informed her

  "Ok sir" she replies with her gorgeous smile

  "That would be all then" I say to her and she goes back to her work

  I came outside my apartment to find him standing while leaning on his car

  "Good morning sir" I said

  "Good morning Hope, let me help you with that" he said

  "Thank you" I said as he put my bag in the trunk

  We went to his private jet and took off for France. I will be spending the next 8 hours with him in his jet and we sat next to each other.

  As the jet started to take off, I felt my fear of height grow within me and I started to panic

  "What's wrong Hope" he asked with a worried expression

  I..I..I am..... afraid of hei...ghts" I say while stammering

  "It's ok I'm here you can hold my hand if you like"he said to me and I did just that

  His hands were so soft and smooth that I felt my fear disappear and soon we had already taken off

  "Thank you" I said to him but he still held my hand and I didn't say anything to him about it

  "Your welcome" he said"since we will be here for more that 8 hour why don't you tell me something about yourself"

  "Well, as you know my name is Hope parker, I'm 22 years old, my elder brother Andrew is 24 years old, he is a cop. Our parents died when I was 10 and we stayed with my aunt, my mom's sister, until we were able to take care of ourselves and that was when my brother turned 18. My best friend Faith is the same age as me, we met while in high school and became friends, her parents treat me and Andrew like their own children.she has been dating Andrew for a while now and I can see that they love each other. Growing up I was never interested in finding a boyfriend and I just wanted a relationship like Faith's and Andrew's because love, care, appreciate and understand each other" I said all this while smiling until I realized that he has been looking at me the entire time and I felt embarrassed

  "I'm sorry to hear about your parents but I would really like to meet them as they seem like interesting people and tell me what do you like and hate" he said

  "I love chocolate and ice cream more than anything, Mango, watermelon, pizza, McDonald's and meat but I'm allergic to pineapples, grapes, peaches and sea foods" I say "but enough about me ,tell me about yourself"

  "Well you see I am 23 years old and I have two siblings, my brother, Allan he his three years younger than me and my elder sister Evelyn who is two years older than me, my brother is an actor and my sister Evelyn is a model and she is married and has cute little daughter Rose.I am the middle child and since my brother was not interested in the company I took over it. I mostly go to my parents during the weekends where we hold a family dinner, they are really nice people and you will love them my best friends, Victor and David have been with me since we were five we grew up together and were like Brothers to each other, one day you'll see them. And I just realized we have something in common, we both love mangoes and we're both allergic to sea food" he said to me

  "Wow your family seems really nice and yeah I guess we have that in common, you know you're the first boss of mine who has ever been interested in my life otherwise it feels great to have someone to talk about rather than just office related work" I said

  "Yes well we are going to be spending a month together in France in the same house at least we can get to know each other more and why did you previously work? He asked me

  "Well after I graduated from college I started working at a publishing company for the past two years"I replied

  "You are a very interesting girl that I have ever met and even though you have been through a lot you are still brave and strong willed and determined and always have this smile on your face you are really interesting, you're kind to everyone even to those who don't like you and I must say you look really cute when you talk without a care in the world" he said

  "Thank you sir and what can I say being an assistant for the one and only Ethan James attracts a lot of enemies who want to fill that position and so many people will not like me and what can I do. My mother always used to say before she died always treat people kindly and they will realize there is no point in being rude to you and you will live a care free life without the worry in the world"I said

  "Your mother was a very wise person and I can see you are as wise as her" he said to me and that made me blush and he tacked a piece of strand of my hair behind my ear and said to me

  "you are really beautiful" and that made me blush even more

  "thank you, you are also really handsome" and he suddenly kissed my forehead and said "thank you" and now I think my chicks were red as a tomato and his smiled at me and I saw that he had dimples and so I smiled back.
