Chapter I
Kim Taehyung(O)
"Ugh- shut up"
Tae groaned, slamming his hand over his phone until the sound died.
He lay still for a moment, staring at the ceiling.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"School..., 2nd year of high school. Great. Fantastic. Amazing."
He dragged himself up, running a hand through his messy black hair.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"Let's get this over with."
A few minutes later, he stood in front of his mirror.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"Okay... eyeliner not too much... not too neat either" he said quietly, leaning closer. "I'm not trying that hard"
He paused, staring at his reflection.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"... You look fine" he added after a second. "they are the problem"
Kim Taehyung(O)
He grabbed his bag. "Yeah. Definitely them."
He froze outside his bedroom door.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"... And here we go" he whispered under his breath.
"Tae, you're going to be late" his mother called again.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"I'm coming" he says, voice barely above a whisper.
The kitchen was painful bright.
Chapter 2
Mrs Kim
"Good morning Sweetie-oh"
Her smile didn't disappear, but charged.
Taehyung stood near the doorway, fingers loosely curled around the starp of his bag
Mr Kim
Speaks with out looking up.
"He's wearing it again, isn't he?"
Mrs Kim
"Yes" says quietly.
Taehyung shifted his weight slightly.
Mrs Kim
"You didn't even try the sweater, did you?" she asks
Mrs Kim
"I laid it out for you" continues walking closer. "Right on your bed. Sew it"
Small, almost unoticeable.
Mr Kim
Signs, sitting down his cup. "so you ignore it"
Kim Taehyung(O)
"I just-" he started
Mr Kim
"Is not that hard" cuts in "Just wear something decent for once"
Tae lips pressed together.
Mrs Kim
Tone softens "We are not asking for much, baby bear. Just... something lighter, something that suits you better."
He looks down at the sleeve, gently tugging at the fabric.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"I like-" tries again.
Mrs Kim
"You would look so nice in pink" say almost over him. "It would brighten you up"
Chapter 3
His voice faded before they could fully form.
Silence settled around him instead.
His father finally looked up at him.
Mr Kim
Do you understand how people see you?
Tae gaze lifted slightly but didn't answer.
Mr Kim
"They don't see someone approachable" goes on "They see someone closed off. Difficult."
Kim Taehyung(O)
"I'm not-" starts quietly.
Mr Kim
"You are" says flatly.
Mrs Kim
Steps in quickly "Not intentionally, of course. You are sweet."
Mrs Kim
"You just don't show it probably" adds.
His fingers tightened around his bag strap.
Kim Taehyung(O)
"I just..." he tried again, soft voice. "I feel like..."
Mr Kim
"You feel uncomfortable because you isolate yourself." Interrupted
Kim Taehyung(O)
"That's not what I-"
Mr Kim
"If you made an effort" continues "things would be easier"
Tae's shoulder sinks a little.
Mrs Kim
Nods "Exactly, if you smile more, dress at little brighter... people would respond to you differently."
