Jungkook threw the book across the room. It hit the wall with a dull thud and slid down dramatically, like it too was exhausted by the moral policing of fictional men.
He stared at the ceiling. White. Blank. Judgmental.
The book lay open on the floor, pages splayed like it was protesting.
The villain’s name glared up at him from the page.
Cold. Calculating. Ruthless. And apparently, according to the internet, “problematic.”
He rolled to his side, propping his head on his hand. His laptop screen still glowed with comments from his latest interview.
“Why do you romanticize toxic men?”
“Your stories glorify red flags.”
“Villains shouldn’t get happy endings.”

*snorted* And why do you still read them? (눈‸눈)
He was Jungkook. A bestselling dark romance writer. His stories sold because they were raw, obsessive, dangerous. People loved morally grey men at 2 a.m. and then judged them at 8 a.m.
Hypocrisy was a national sport. He reached down, picked the fallen book up, and flipped through it again.

Taehyung wasn’t even badly written. 😤 H..he was just so perfect! A handsome perfect villain!
He was intelligent. Strategic. Loyal to only one thing, his own twisted sense of justice. Yes, he destroyed the male lead. Yes, he manipulated half the cast. Yes, he smiled while doing it.
But villains were honest. Heroes pretended to be righteous. Villains admitted they were selfish.
Jungkook traced the character description with his thumb.

He covered his face with a pillow. He was twenty-seven. Successful. Rich. Single. Painfully single.
He wrote about obsession because normal love bored him. Flowers and sunshine? No. He wanted tension. A man who would burn the world but keep him safe from the fire.
A dangerous thought bloomed in his mind. What if someone like Kim Taehyung existed?

His phone buzzed. A notification popped up and then Another article.
“Dark Romance Author Jungkook Criticized for Promoting Immoral Male Leads.”
He clicked it. The journalist had torn apart his latest novel. and called his villain “disturbingly charismatic.” Accused Jungkook of projecting unhealthy fantasies.

*Read the last line twice* Writers like Jungkook need to understand that men like Kim Taehyung belong in prison, not in romance novels....
Something in him snapped. He stood up abruptly, pacing his apartment.

They don’t understand nuance...*muttered*

They don’t understand complexity. Not every villain is evil for fun. Some are shaped. Some are broken. Some are just honest about what they want. *pursed his lips*
He stopped pacing. He looked at the book again.

If I were in that world, I’d write you differently so that everyone can understand you like i did. *murmured slowly*
The room felt strangely quiet. Too quiet. The lights flickered.
He frowned. He wasn’t dramatic enough for hallucinations. That was for tortured poets.

Great, Now even my apartment is judging me. *muttered*
He walked toward the window. The city lights shimmered below. Alive. Real. Safe. Then...
The ground trembled. Just slightly. His bookshelf shook. The book in his hand slipped. The lights went out. Darkness swallowed everything. For a second, there was nothing. No sound. No air. No weight.
Pain followed. A sharp ringing in his ears. Cold marble against his palms.

*blinked* W..what's happening?!
The ceiling above him was not his ceiling. It was high. Ornate. Gold-trimmed. Chandeliers hung like crystal spiders. The air smelled expensive. Jungkook pushed himself up slowly.
He was not in his apartment. He was lying in the middle of a grand hall.

Voices echoed nearby. Deep. Controlled. Dangerous.
Jungkook’s stomach dropped. That voice. He knew that voice. Not because he’d heard it before. But because he’d imagined it.
Slow. Measured. Sharp enough to cut glass. His head turned. And there he was. Standing at the top of a wide staircase. Tall. Impossibly composed. Black suit tailored to lethal perfection. Eyes cold enough to freeze oceans.

Taehyung tilted his head slightly.
Jungkook’s heartbeat slammed against his ribs. He swallowed. He had wanted a villain like Kim Taehyung.
The universe, apparently, had a sense of humor. Because the villain had just found him first. And the way Taehyung was looking at him...It wasn’t romantic.

Jungkook didn’t scream. Writers observe first. Panic later.
He slowly pushed himself to his feet, trying not to look like a man who had just fallen out of reality.
The marble floor. The towering staircase. The armed men lining the walls.
This wasn’t just a mansion. He knew this mansion...He had criticized its architecture in a review thread once.
Minimalist. Cold. Designed for intimidation. This was Kim Taehyung’s estate. His stomach twisted.

His blood ran cold. Because there had been a side character.
Minor. Soft-spoken. Financial analyst. Accidentally uncovered Taehyung’s money trail and was eliminated within three chapters.
