WOLF IN SUITS

THE ENCOUNTER

CHAPTER 1

The luxury hotel ballroom in Gangnam shimmered under crystal chandeliers, the soft hum of live jazz filling the room. Handsome young man Min Jae-Hyun stood near the back, eyes scanning the elegantly dressed crowd. Tonight’s gala was supposed to be just a routine assignment, a way to keep an eye on the city’s elite—but he couldn’t shake the uneasy excitement curling in his chest.

And then he saw him.

Dmitri Volkov.

He moved through the crowd like he owned it, tall, hot, handsome,rich,broad-shouldered, dressed in a black tailored suit that hugged his form perfectly. His dark gray eyes scanned every corner, every person, with that predatory precision that made people instinctively step aside. The way he carried himself—confident, dangerous, magnetic—made Jae-Hyun instinctively take a half-step back.

Jae-Hyun’s pulse quickened. He hated how his body betrayed him. I’m not interested, he told himself firmly, though every instinct in him screamed the opposite.

Dmitri’s gaze found him immediately. No hesitation, no wandering—just an intense, piercing look that made Jae-Hyun’s stomach flip. Dmitri’s smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, dangerous and teasing at once, as he moved closer.

“Police officer,” Dmitri’s voice cut through the soft chatter, low and smooth. “I’ve heard about you.”

Jae-Hyun stiffened. “And I’ve heard about you too,” he replied, trying to sound indifferent. But his chest felt tight, and his heart skipped—a warning he refused to acknowledge.

Dmitri’s smirk widened. “Even more… defiant in person. I like that.”

Jae-Hyun arched an eyebrow. “Like what? That I don’t know who you are?”

“That fire in your eyes,” Dmitri said, stepping closer, close enough that Jae-Hyun could feel the faint heat radiating from him. “Your stubborn streak. It’s… intoxicating.”

Jae-Hyun’s hands curled into fists. “I’m not interested,” he said, though a flicker of curiosity betrayed him.

“You resist,” Dmitri murmured, brushing a finger lightly against Jae-Hyun’s hand in a touch that was teasing yet possessive. “Every inch of your defiance makes it sweeter when I claim you.”

Jae-Hyun tried to step back, keeping his composure. “You’re insufferable,” he muttered, lips twitching despite himself.

“And you…” Dmitri leaned closer, forehead nearly brushing Jae-Hyun’s. “You’re irresistibly tempting when you fight me.”

For a heartbeat, the gala, the music, even the city streets of Seoul outside—all of it—disappeared. It was just the two of them: the stubborn, teasing officer and the dangerous, possessive Russian mafia man who had already decided he wanted Jae-Hyun.

When Dmitri finally stepped back into the crowd, Jae-Hyun’s pulse still raced. He wanted to scold him, push him away—but he couldn’t deny the pull.

And Dmitri? He already had a plan. To make the stubborn, teasing police officer his, … no matter what it took... he wanted to get what he wanted.

DANGEROUS INTEREST

CHAPTER 2

The streets of Seoul were quiet after the gala, neon lights reflecting off the wet pavement from an earlier drizzle. Min Jae-Hyun walked briskly, his police jacket pulled tight against the evening chill. He couldn’t shake the memory of Dmitri Volkov’s gaze—the magnetic, predatory stare that had followed him all night.

He hated that he couldn’t stop thinking about it. His chest tightened, pulse racing at the memory of those dark gray eyes and that faint, knowing smirk. I’m not interested, he reminded himself. But even as he walked, he knew the pull was already too strong.

Across the city, Dmitri’s sleek black car cruised silently, Ivan at his side, ever vigilant. Dmitri watched Jae-Hyun from a distance, not too close, not intrusive—just enough to observe. The officer’s stubborn pride, the way he held his head high despite obvious tension, fascinated Dmitri. It made him want Jae-Hyun more.

“You think too much,” Ivan commented quietly, noting Dmitri’s focus.

“Not enough,” Dmitri replied with a smirk. “He’s… dangerous. But I like that. His resistance only makes the chase more satisfying.”

Back on the street, Jae-Hyun ducked into a small 24-hour café for warmth, hoping to distract himself with coffee and mundane noise. The door chimed behind him, and he froze.

“Coffee breaks alone?” Dmitri’s voice was smooth, low, and intimate. He leaned against the counter, arms crossed, eyes locked on Jae-Hyun.

Jae-Hyun stiffened, hand gripping his cup. “Not exactly yours to question,” he replied, trying to sound irritated. His stubborn pride wouldn’t let him show how flustered he was.

Dmitri’s smirk deepened, closing just enough distance that Jae-Hyun felt the heat radiating from him. “I’m not questioning. I’m claiming interest. Dangerous interest,” he murmured. “And you… are impossibly tempting.”

Jae-Hyun’s lips twitched, resisting, though his heart betrayed him. “Tempting? Don’t flatter yourself,” he said, though the slight quiver in his voice revealed the opposite.

Dmitri leaned casually closer, brushing a finger along the back of Jae-Hyun’s hand—possessive yet teasing, just enough to make the officer shiver.

“You resist,” Dmitri said softly. “And I like it. Every inch of your stubbornness makes it sweeter when I finally have you.”

Jae-Hyun’s stubbornness flared. “You’re insufferable,” he muttered, trying to pull away. But Dmitri’s hand stayed, firm but gentle, holding him in place.

“And you…” Dmitri’s voice dropped lower, almost a growl, “are irresistibly tempting when you fight me.”

For a moment, the hum of the café, the neon streets, even the city around them faded. It was only the two of them—the stubborn, teasing officer and the dangerous, obsessive mafia man—locked in a silent, unspoken battle of wills.

When Dmitri finally stepped back, letting go of Jae-Hyun’s hand, the officer’s chest heaved. He wanted to scold him, to step away, but he couldn’t. He had already been drawn into Dmitri’s orbit.

And Dmitri? He already knew the chase had only begun—and he had no intention of letting the stubborn police officer slip away.

THE RIVAL APPEARS

CHAPTER 3

The next morning, Min Jae-Hyun tried to shake off the memory of Dmitri Volkov. But no matter how hard he focused on paperwork at the police precinct, the Russian mafia man’s dark gray eyes and predatory smirk lingered in his mind like an unwelcome shadow.

He rubbed his temples, frustrated. Why can’t he just leave me alone? He muttered under his breath, determined to ignore the dangerous allure. But deep down, he knew it was impossible—Dmitri didn’t do subtle, and he certainly didn’t give up easily.

As Jae-Hyun reviewed reports, the office phone rang. The voice on the line belonged to someone he hadn’t expected: Alexander Kane, the ambitious CEO whose reputation for charm and ruthless ambition preceded him.

“Officer Min,” Alexander’s smooth, confident voice purred. “I hear you had an… interesting encounter last night.”

Jae-Hyun froze, irritation flaring. “And you are?”

“I’m someone who doesn’t like to lose,” Alexander replied lightly. “Call me a rival… or perhaps a complication for certain dangerous men.”

Jae-Hyun felt his patience thinning. “Look, I don’t know what you want, but—”

“I want him,” Alexander interrupted, voice low and firm. “Dmitri Volkov has taken an interest in you. But I think you’d rather choose someone… more civilized.”

Jae-Hyun blinked, caught between irritation and disbelief. “Excuse me?”

Alexander chuckled softly, confident and unnerving. “I see potential, officer. I see fire. And I also see a man who will not back down easily. You deserve someone who can handle that fire… without threats, danger, or obsession.”

Jae-Hyun clenched his fists, flush rising to his cheeks. Of course there’s a rival. “I’m not… choosing anyone right now,” he said firmly, his voice a mix of stubborn defiance and hidden curiosity.

Across town, Dmitri already knew about Alexander Kane. It did nothing to unsettle him—in fact, it made the game even more delicious. Alexander was a worthy threat, charming and arrogant, but Dmitri had something no CEO could ever claim: obsessive, possessive, unwavering desire for Jae-Hyun.

“Ivan,” Dmitri murmured later that evening, pacing in his office, “we have competition. But he doesn’t understand what he’s dealing with. He thinks desire can be negotiated. He doesn’t know the meaning of obsession.”

Ivan nodded silently, familiar with Dmitri’s intensity. “Then we make sure he never gets the chance.”

Meanwhile, Jae-Hyun tried to focus on his daily routine—patrols, paperwork, training—but Alexander’s smooth voice and Dmitri’s magnetic presence haunted him at every turn. He hated how drawn he was to both men, each pulling him in different directions: one dangerous, possessive, and unpredictable; the other polished, confident, and calculated.

By evening, the tension had coiled tight in Jae-Hyun’s chest. He hated the feeling, hated how it made him shiver when Dmitri appeared unexpectedly, and how Alexander’s words lingered in his mind.

The battle lines were drawn. Two men, both dangerous and possessive, both determined to claim him. And the stubborn, teasing officer—Min Jae-Hyun—was about to find out just how difficult it would be to resist… when both of them refused to let go.
