As the only child he agreed to the wedding and tried to get on good terms with his "husband"
Though the grand duke didn't seem interested in him at all and Alex resigned to be the lonely forsaken consort
But things changed when the grand duke's childhood sweetheart came into the picture

Lady Sophia had always liked the grand duke and being a spoiled brat that she is, she believed that she could have everything that she wanted
Upon hearing her dream man had already married a consort, she came over to the grand duke's palace
Planning to becomes the grand duke's wife
She tried to win over the grand duke with a charming smile and small talk but the cold grand duke never bulged
Slowly she started taking out her frustration on poor Alex
Alex who had always been a kind, soft person had to endure it all since in the palace no one really had his back
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months and his wounds never healed they actually multiplied
The grand duke never concerned himself rather saw Alex as an eyesore
It reached a point that Alex couldn't take it and started shutting down bit by bit
Until one winter, Alex drank poison killing himself.
