The university campus was alive with the usual afternoon chaos students walking in groups, laughing echoing between buildings.
Bust she sat apart from it all. A girl who looked like she belonged anywhere she chose to stand. Confident. Bright. Unapologetically alive.
A half filled form rested on her laps, her fingers moving quickly across it. Her focus was sharp. Suddenly her phone rang. The moment she saw the screen, her expression changed.
Without hesitation, she stood up, and rushed toward the exit. Her steps were quick and distracted and that’s when it happened. She collided with someone.
A tall man walking from opposite direction, barely had time to react before the impact sent a splash of coffee acryher hand and the edge of her outfit.

Girl
"Sorry ". *muttered *
She muttered quickly, not even looking up properly. Not rude. Just focused on survival. Not conversation and then she left.

She didn’t stop until she reached him.

"Puppy" *everything in her changes and the sharp edges softened *
And for a brief moment, she looked like someone who could finally breathe. She ran in him and hugged him without hesitation.

Her voice lit up as she ran toward a tall boy waiting near his car. She threw her arms around him without hesitation, hugging him tightly, her earlier coldness gone as if it had never existed.

*hugged her back, letting a small sight.* I’m not a puppy *he murmured * can’t you just call me ash?
Girl
*she pulled back with a playful grin.* Fine then….Mr. Castello
His smile faded. Just slightly.
Asher. Castello
Call me anything you want , can’t win with you *saying that, loosing his hold*
Girl
*she reaches out and ruffled his hair gently* hey… came on, let’s eat something. I’m starving, haven’t eaten all day
Asher. Castello
*frowned immediately * what? Why?
Girl
*she exhaled, her shoulders dropping* I had to finish things at home and rush here early this morning. If I was late , my admission wouldn’t have gone through

*she pressed her fingers to her temple* and I still have to submit this form by evening….

Girl
I haven’t eaten or rested properly for two days *she admitted softly * I’m exhausted….

*just took the form from her * what happened to this?

Your jacket *he said * it’s stained

*she twists slightly, finally noticing it* oh… I had bumped into someone earlier *quietly* I don’t think I even apologised properly….

*shook his head* why are you so careless
Girl
*she smiles teasingly* I missed my puppy.

*he sight but smile returned * yeah….I can see that
Girl
You still keep spare clothes in your car, right ? Let me borrow something ...
Without waiting she walked off returning movements later with a red shirt
Girl
I will change, then we’ll submit this and finally eat.*she walked away before he could respond *

*watched her go , then pulled out his phone * I’m here, where are you?📲
A few minutes later, someone approached him.

*looked at them and eyes brightened *
The man standing before him was slightly taller, his presence calm yet commanding.
Where asher felt warm and approachable, this man felt distant and controlled. And yet they looked almost identical.
