When the heroine rose to become queen, she wasted no time in delivering justice. The scheming duchess was sentenced to death.
Fate, however, had one final twist.
A week before the execution, the Archduke awakened.
The duchess, desperate and certain she would be spared, clung to hope, but it was misplaced. The man she had betrayed felt nothing for her. Without hesitation, he upheld her sentence and ordered her execution himself.
After her death, the Archduke took her sister as his new bride.
And so, balance was restored where the wicked met their end, and the rest found their own version of a happy ending.
