The Crown Prince's Unwanted Mate

Even in Death, No one Came

The world was spinning—or maybe it was just him falling apart. He lay on the cold road, unmoving, the rough surface scraping against his skin, though he could barely feel it anymore. All he could see was red. Blood spread beneath him slowly, quietly, as if it had all the time in the world. His breathing came out uneven, shallow, breaking with every second. Somewhere far away, people were shouting, running, panicking—but none of it reached him. Not really. His vision blurred as the lights above him stretched into something unrecognizable, and for the first time, he didn’t feel anger or pain. Just… emptiness. His lips parted slightly, and a faint whisper escaped, “So this is it…” A pause. His gaze dimmed further. “…even now…” Another breath, barely there. “…no one came.” And then, silence.Darkness closed in slowly, almost gently, like it was welcoming him. But then—cold. That was the first thing he felt. Not pain. Not fear. Just cold. It wrapped around him completely, pulling him down, deeper and heavier. His eyes snapped open, and all he saw was water—endless, dark, suffocating. His body moved on instinct as he tried to swim, pushing himself upward, anywhere but here. But something dragged him down. His limbs felt heavy, unresponsive, like they no longer belonged to him. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t move forward. His chest tightened, breath slipping away as panic slowly crept in. He struggled again, harder this time, desperate to escape, but nothing changed. It felt like drowning in something he could never escape. His vision began to fade once more, darkness creeping in from the edges. “…not again…” The thought barely formed before his body started going still.

And then—a hand.It appeared out of nowhere, reaching toward him. Firm. Unyielding. It grabbed his wrist, warm against the freezing water, and in one sharp pull—everything shattered. He gasped, his body jerking upright as air rushed violently into his lungs. His chest heaved as he struggled to breathe, as if he had just been dragged out from drowning. His vision cleared slowly, revealing a ceiling above him—not the sky, not the street, but something unfamiliar. “…Where…?” his voice came out weak, trembling. He looked around, and the room only made things worse. It was old, elegant, filled with furniture that didn’t belong to his world.Everything felt wrong. Too different. Too unreal. His heart began to pound as realization slowly crept in—this wasn’t where he died.

The door suddenly opened, and an attendant rushed in, followed by a young boy. Both of them looked relieved, almost panicked. “Young master! You’re finally awake!” the attendant exclaimed, stepping closer. He froze, his mind struggling to catch up. “…Who are you?” he asked, his voice still hoarse. Both of them stopped instantly, shock spreading across their faces. “Young master…?” the attendant's voice trembled. “Do you not recognize us?” His brows furrowed, confusion turning into something sharper.“…Where am I?” The boy stepped forward, his expression filled with concern. “You fell into the water earlier. Do you not remember?” Water? The word echoed in his mind. The attendant quickly added, “Did you hit your head when you fell? Young master… have you lost your memory?” Silence filled the room as his heart dropped. Water. Strange room. Unknown people. His fingers clenched tightly against the sheets as a cold realization settled deep inside him. Something was very, very wrong.

This wasn’t where he lived.

And this—wasn’t his world.
