Sunlight streamed through the kaleidoscopic windows, casting ethereal patterns across the polished marble floor, creating an ambiance typically reserved for the most joyous of unions. This beautiful setting was meticulously prepared for the auspicious meeting of two souls, a ceremony meant to symbolize love and commitment, an eternal bond.
And then there was me, standing amidst all this breathtaking splendor, encased in a pristine white dress that billowed around me like a cloud, a veil of delicate lace obscuring my face. Every thread, every stitch of this elaborate bridal gown, spoke of tradition and expectation, of a future unfolding according to a predetermined script. Yet, despite the outward appearance of a bride ready to embark on a new chapter, my heart was a heavy stone within my chest.
There was no flutter, no exhilarating anticipation. I was not a happy bride, not in the slightest. This elaborate charade, this momentous occasion, was nothing more than a carefully orchestrated transaction, a cold, calculated exchange orchestrated by my father.
