The start and the end
The year is 2086. Inside a high-tech barrier room in Tokyo, Yuji (now 83, but appearing 15) sits cross-legged across from a flickering holographic terminal. Beside him, Maru, the curious Simurian alien, watches with wide eyes.

Choso is the first to solidify. He looks around, his eyes immediately landing on Yuji. A soft, weary smile touches his lips.

Choso moves closer to Yuji, his holographic hand passing through Yuji’s shoulder. "You carry a heavy burden, Yuji. You became the vessel so the world wouldn't have to. Don't lose yourself in the long years."
Satoru’s expression turns uncharacteristically serious. "He won't, Choso. He’s got that 'Itadori' stubbornness. Besides, I left him with the best blueprints
