Their Dynamic :
He is danger.
She is softness.
He controls the world.
She barely controls her own heartbeat around him.
And yet—
The most feared man in the city…
finds his weakness in the one girl who was never meant to be part of his world.
The city never truly slept.
Neon lights flickered across the wet streets of Seoul, reflecting like broken glass under the night sky. Somewhere in the distance, sirens echoed—but in the world Elliana had just stepped into, those sounds meant nothing.
Because this world didn’t follow the law.
It followed him.
Jeon Jungkook.
Elliana stood frozen at the entrance of the underground building, her fingers tightening around the strap of her bag. The air felt heavier here, like it was warning her to turn back before it was too late.
But she didn’t.
The doors slid open on their own.
And there he was.
Sitting in a dim-lit room surrounded by men in black suits, Jungkook didn’t even look up at first. His presence alone was enough to silence everyone. The faint glow from the table lamp carved shadows across his sharp features, making him look even more dangerous than the rumors said.
Cold. Powerful. Untouchable.
“Elliana,” one of the men muttered, stepping aside.
That’s when Jungkook finally lifted his gaze.
His eyes locked onto hers.
And everything stopped.
For a moment, Elliana forgot how to breathe. Not because he was kind—he wasn’t. Not because he looked safe—he didn’t.
But because he looked like someone who had already decided her fate.
“You’re late,” Jungkook said calmly.
His voice was low. Controlled. Dangerous in its quietness.
“I didn’t even agree to come,” Elliana replied, forcing her voice not to shake.
A faint smirk appeared on his lips.
“That’s not how this works.”
Silence fell again.
One of the men behind him shifted nervously, but Jungkook didn’t even glance at them. His attention stayed locked on her like she was the only thing in the room that mattered.
Or the only thing he was allowed to break.
“You’re connected to the Lee family,” he said slowly. “Which means now… you’re connected to me.”
Elliana’s heart dropped.
“I’m not part of your world.”
Jungkook stood up.
The sound of his chair scraping echoed like a warning shot.
“You already are.”
He walked closer, slow and steady, until there was only a small space between them. Close enough for her to notice the faint scent of smoke and cologne clinging to him.
Close enough to run—but not escape.
“You have something they want,” he continued. “And now they’ll come for you.”
Elliana swallowed hard. “And you think protecting me makes you a hero?”
That made him pause.
Then, for the first time, his expression shifted—just slightly. Not soft. Not kind.
Something more dangerous.
“No,” he said quietly. “I’m not a hero.”
A beat passed.
“I’m the reason they won’t get to you first.”
The lights flickered above them.
Somewhere outside, tires screeched against the road.
Jungkook tilted his head slightly, listening.
“They’re already here.”
Elliana’s breath caught.
Before she could react, his hand suddenly gripped her wrist—not painfully, but firmly enough to pull her behind him in one swift motion.
The room erupted into tension.
Men reached for weapons.
But Jungkook didn’t move.
Instead, he leaned slightly toward her, voice low enough that only she could hear:
“Stay behind me… and don’t let go.”
And for reasons she couldn’t understand—
Elliana did.
Elliana’s POV
The room felt suffocating.
My wrists were still tied, the rope biting slightly into my skin as I sat on the cold leather couch. The dim light above flickered, making everything feel even more unreal… like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from.
And him.
He stood across the room, watching me.
Jeon Jungkook.
Silent. Dangerous. Unreadable.
“Stop staring at me,” I muttered, my voice shaky but trying to sound brave.
A low chuckle escaped his lips.
“Cute,” he said, slowly walking closer. “You’re still trying to act strong.”
My heart started racing as he stopped right in front of me. Too close.
“W-what do you want from me?” I asked.
He crouched down, his eyes locking onto mine.
“You,” he said simply.
My breath hitched. “What does that even mean?!”
Without warning, he reached forward and untied the rope around my wrists.
I froze.
“…Why did you untie me?” I whispered, rubbing my sore wrists.
For a moment, he just stared at me.
Jungkook leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.
“Because you won’t run.”
My eyes widened. “And how are you so sure?”
He tilted his head slightly, studying me.
A dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.
A smirk formed on his lips.
In one swift motion, he grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.
My breath stopped.
“Because,” he said, gently tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear, “you already know what happens if you try.”
I swallowed hard.
“From now on,” he said, standing up and looking down at me, “you stay here.”
I didn’t move.
Couldn’t move.
A chill ran down my spine.
His grip loosened, and his hand slowly dropped.
Before I could react, the door suddenly burst open.
A man rushed in, clearly panicked.
“Boss!”
A man rushed in, breathing heavily. “The rival group—they found our location!”
Jungkook’s expression instantly hardened.
Jungkook’s expression turned cold. Sharp. Deadly.
“Already?” he muttered.
“They’re getting closer. We don’t have much time.”
My heart started racing.
“Take her upstairs,” he ordered coldly.
“What?! No—I’m not going anywhere!” I protested, standing up.
But the man grabbed my arm.
“Let go of me!” I struggled, panic rising.
Jungkook turned back to me for a brief second.
For a brief moment, our eyes met again.
And for the first time…
There was something different in his eyes.
Not softness.
Not warmth.
Not kindness.
But something close to concern.
“Stay alive,” he said.
Before I could respond, he turned and walked away.
Straight toward the sound of gunfire.
Then he walked out.
Gunshots echoed in the distance.
My heart dropped.
“Move,” the man said, pulling me out of the room.
As we ran down the hallway, more gunshots echoed, louder this time.
What kind of world did I just get dragged into?
My hands trembled.
My mind raced.
What kind of life did he live?
What kind of person was he?
And the biggest question of all…
Why me?
