I have got many MDZS fanarts, so I just decided to share it with you all.
Wuwuliannn
I will be giving you a summary/conclusion of these fanarts so that you can understand it easily.
Wuwuliannn
That's it for now guys!
Wuwuliannn
What are your thoughts about this fanart?
Wuwuliannn
Well, let me give you its conclusion...
This fanart is about the sword spirits of Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji—specifically Suibian and Bichen personified.
What it's portraying is deeply symbolic:
1》Suibian planning to seal himself
Suibian wanting to seal himself reflects loyalty beyond death.
In MDZS, Suibian only answers Wei Wuxian, and after his fall it is essentially dormant/sealed already. In the fanart, Suibian seems to be choosing this himself-almost like:
▪︎Refusing to exist without his master,
▪︎Preserving Wei Wuxian's will,
▪︎Carrying grief and guilt,
▪︎Sacrificing his own "life" as a sword spirit.
It mirrors Wei Wuxian's self-sacrificial tendencies.
2》Bichen trying to stop him
Bichen often symbolizes Lan Wangji's restraint, devotion, and silent persistence. So Bichen trying to stop Suibian can be read as:
▪︎Refusing to let Suibian disappear the way Lan Wangji refused to let Wei Wuxian be forgotten,
▪︎Urging him to endure and wait,
▪︎Offering companionship in grief,
▪︎Almost echoing Wangji saying don't leave.
There's often romantic subtext too: the swords mirror their masters, so Bichen reaching for Suibian = Lan Wangji reaching for Wei Wuxian.
》Why the ending gets tragic?
That violent final imagery (the shattering/blood-like impact) often symbolizes:
▪︎Suibian forcing the seal despite Bichen's plea,
▪︎The emotional "death" of separation,
▪︎The trauma of Wei Wuxian's first death reenacted through the swords.
It's less literal combat and more emotional devastation.
》Core theme of the fanart
▪︎Devotion surviving death
▪︎Grief between those left behind
▪︎Swords inheriting the hearts of their masters
▪︎Suibian choosing oblivion, while Bichen fights for remembrance
And honestly, making the sword spirits the ones carrying this pain is brilliant, because in canon both swords are extensions of their owners' souls.

Hopefully, it clears all the doubts and gives you a good explanation of what is happening here...

Wanted to shared one of my favorite scenes from MDZS—
Wuwuliannn
(whisper) To be honest, I like each and every second of it...🤭
Wuwuliannn
Then, let's start!
Wuwuliannn
Now, I'm gonna give you the explanation of this manga panel.
Wuwuliannn
It took me quite some time to come up with a good one but thankfully I did it 🤗

So, it goes like this...
This scene takes place in Yiling, during the period when Wei Wuxian is living in isolation on the Burial Mounds with the Wen remnants. He comes down to the marketplace with A-Yuan to buy supplies. On the surface, it looks like a simple, everyday outing—but given his reputation and circumstances, even something as normal as shopping carries quiet tension. He is a feared figure now, yet here he is doing something ordinary, almost domestic.
While he’s there, Lan Wangji appears.
Lan Wangji says he’s just passing by after a night hunt, but that explanation doesn’t quite hold. The timing and the way he shows up make it clear that this isn’t coincidence—he came because he knew Wei Wuxian would be there, or at the very least, he hoped to find him. Still, true to his nature, he doesn’t openly admit it.
Their interaction begins with a layer of casualness:
▪︎Wei Wuxian acts relaxed, even playful, treating the meeting as accidental. This is his usual way of keeping emotional distance—he hides anything serious behind humor and ease.
▪︎Lan Wangji remains quiet and composed, saying little, but his presence itself contradicts his words. He doesn’t need to explain—he simply stays.
Then comes the important shift involving A-Yuan.
Instead of Wei Wuxian, it is Lan Wangji who buys toys for A-Yuan.
This small action carries a lot of weight:
▪︎It shows a gentle, unspoken kindness—Lan Wangji reaching out not through words, but through care.
▪︎He acknowledges Wei Wuxian’s current life, including the child he’s protecting.
▪︎Without saying anything directly, he steps into that space, however briefly.
A-Yuan responds naturally, without fear, which softens the atmosphere even more. Through this, Lan Wangji sees a side of Wei Wuxian that the rest of the world ignores—the side that nurtures, protects, and lives quietly despite everything.
Wei Wuxian notices what Lan Wangji is doing. He understands the meaning behind it. But instead of confronting it, he deflects—making light remarks, keeping the tone easy. Accepting the sincerity behind Lan Wangji’s actions would mean facing emotions he’s deliberately avoiding.
Underneath that light surface, though, the truth is clear:
▪︎Wei Wuxian is maintaining distance, pretending this meeting doesn’t matter more than it does.
▪︎Lan Wangji is closing that distance, not by force, but by showing up and quietly caring.
There’s also a strong contrast in the setting:
▪︎The marketplace is lively, ordinary, full of everyday life.
▪︎Their interaction is restrained, intimate, and filled with things left unsaid.
By the end of the scene, nothing dramatic has been declared. There’s no open confession or confrontation.
But something important has still happened:
Lan Wangji has crossed into Wei Wuxian’s isolated world and shown, through simple actions like buying toys for A-Yuan, that he does not reject it—or him.
And Wei Wuxian, despite all his deflection, allows that presence. He doesn’t push him away.
It’s a quiet meeting where one pretends it’s nothing, and the other pretends it’s coincidence—but both understand it means far more than either of them is willing to say out loud.

Was it satisfactory? 😳

Wuwuliannn
I know, I know...

So, now let's move on to it's story behind this panel.
The opening thoughts “I can feel his pain…” suggest that Chenqing, being bound to Wei Wuxian’s resentful energy, can deeply sense his suppressed emotions.
▪︎Keeps everything inside
▪︎Refuses to speak about his suffering
▪︎Gradually distances himself from others
The key turning point is his internal question:
"Is there any path where he can protect others without using demonic cultivation?"
Chenqing “witnesses” the answer: no such path is given to him.
As others respond with fear and hostility, Chenqing experiences:
▪︎Rising resentment
▪︎Suffocating pressure
▪︎Emotional overload
The final “ENOUGH!” is the moment where everything spills over—and Chenqing becomes the medium through which that wrath is unleashed.
》Why Chenqing’s Spirit Feels So Central Here
Unlike a sword, Chenqing is not about discipline or righteousness—it is:
▪︎A conduit of resentment and spiritual energy
▪︎Directly tied to Wei Wuxian’s emotions
▪︎Activated through sound (expression) rather than restraint
So in this interpretation:
Chenqing doesn’t just observe his pain—it amplifies and carries it.
》What These Panels Say About Chenqing
1} It Understands Him Completely
Chenqing feels everything:
▪︎His silence
▪︎His frustration
▪︎His desire to protect
▪︎His helplessness
It is possibly the only “entity” that truly resonates with his inner state.
▪︎Words fail
▪︎Society rejects him
▪︎No one listens
The voice of everything he cannot say.
That’s why the emotional buildup leads directly into the act of playing the flute → unleashing power.
3} It Doesn’t Resist—It Responds
Where Suibian (in other interpretations) might withdraw, Chenqing does the opposite:
▪︎It does not hold him back
▪︎It does not judge
▪︎It responds to his emotions and channels them outward
So when he reaches “ENOUGH!”:
Chenqing doesn’t stop him—it echoes him.
This makes the whole sequence even more tragic but also powerful:
▪︎Wei Wuxian is unheard by people
▪︎But his pain still finds a way to exist in the world
▪︎Through Chenqing, his emotions become inescapable and overwhelming
▪︎Wei Wuxian = suppressed pain
▪︎Chenqing = expression of that pain
▪︎The chaos = what happens when that pain is never acknowledged
Wuwuliannn
It was veryyyy longggg!
Wuwuliannn
But it's done after all.
