I do not own Naruto, just the plot.
...Prologue...
A long time ago, before Humans and Angels came to exist, there was a greater form of beings, the Fox lords and the Raven lords. These beings had power unimaginable but with great power, came greed and hatred. What was to be a great dynasty was divided with war and bitterness. The fox lords were just too pure for the Raven lords and the Raven lords were just too dark for the fox lords.
To end the bitterness and bloodshed, the Lord Supremes, decided to build a labyrinth of opposites to divide the two kingdoms. The labyrinth with the end to the Fox lords would fill with evil while that to the Raven lords with goodness. No one from either kingdom would be able to cross over to the other except they were destined soul mates. And it was impossible for a fox to love a raven and verse versa.
However, to make sure this never happens, the cruel acts of the Raven lords and the kind actions of the Fox lords were displayed to each other. A mirror portal was kept in the center of each kingdom to show the activities of both the kingdoms. The idea was that they two kingdom would be so disgusted by these that they would wish nothing to do with each other. And it was sealed in 'beginning magic' that anything contrary to these would bring death and destruction upon the two lands.
...Chapter 1...
Naruto's Pov:
"I'm telling you Lord Prince, they say he's dying." Sakura my ever so talkative best friend said to me.
"That shouldn't be of any concern to us." I answered, sighing within me for I knew my response would just cause more talk.
"But, it would be such a waste; the Raven Prince is quite a ravishing sight." I sighed out loud this time; Sakura could be so crazy sometimes. She was the only one crazy enough to fall for a Raven lord. And the most evil of them all at that.
"I would think it was a waste of death. Someone so evil deserves a far greater punishment worse than death. He doesn't deserve the peace death brings." Surely someone so despicable deserves whatever evil that befalls him.
"Oh come-on, don't start with that again. He is too good-looking to deserve anything less than a glorified death." Seriously Sakura, stop talking.
"Please let me rest Sakura, I do not know why fate would be so cruel to you for you to be born a fox lord. A fox lord can't fancy a Raven lord." I said to her but she smiled a small sad smile and replied
"Stop joking Lord Prince, it's not like we're fated or something." She was using that sad tone again. Ugh! Now I have to work hard to cheer her up.
"Don't sound so gloomy, I'm sure the Raven lords will figure out something." I tried to console her of the thought of her ill-fated love dying.
"Of course he won't die. He's just to cool." Oh Sakura! Sometimes, I wonder how you can be so superficial. You're a Fox lord for god sake. But then, that perfect picture we paint for the outside world is not what it truly is and that bothers me.
Sasuke's pov:
"What do you mean there is nothing we can do?" My brother was getting impatient with the Lord physician.
"Is there no way to maybe remove the curse mark?" He asked again, he sounded desperate for a solution. Of course he's desperate; I'm his only relative left. He needs me to keep up the stench of evil in the kingdom. But sometimes I wonder if his actions signify that he cares for me. How pathetic! If he were not Lord Supreme, I would question if he was truly a Raven lord.
"Lord Kakashi, please, there must be something we can do." Itachi was now showing the worry on his face. Damn it! If he's this worried, I must really be dying and there is so much that is left undone. I can't do that if I'm dead. Damn it! Itachi do something although any action you take will be your ruin.
"There is something that can be done but it is nearly impossible." This idiot had an option all along and kept quiet about it? He's very lucky I'm dying or...
"Nearly? Then there is a probability that it is possible." Supreme Itachi seemed almost hopeful.
"Yes, in theory." Out with it already you fool!
"What do you mean? If there is something that can be done, then out with it." Exactly Itachi!
"The Lord Prince needs the heart of the purest Fox lord." What did he just say? The heart of what?
"The heart of the purest Fox lord?" Itachi sounded as surprised as I am.
"Yes Lord Supreme, Lord Prince has the heart of the darkest Raven lord and the curse is eating into the heart of that darkness. The heart of the purest being in existence, filled with love, kindness and hope would heal the wound and restore the life source." Blah! You have got to be kidding me! The heart of a fox lord?
"Hhmm! Lord Kakashi, how can I possibly survive something said to be so pure. You forget pure energy can alter our dark energy and kill us. I'm trying to live here and you're suggesting the surest way to die?" This must a plot to get rid of me.
The idiot smirked through that hideous mask of his. What the hell is he smirking about?
"You don't have to worry about that Lord Prince, there's just enough darkness within you to keep that from happening." He smirked that stupid smirk again and I wanted to run a sword through that face of his. Too bad I'm dying; I'm not to use up too much dark energy. But then there is another problem.
"But you forget Lord Kakashi, there is one more problem." Itachi seems to be reading my mind and the Lord Physician knew it too as he nodded.
"Yes, the labyrinth of opposites." Ugh! That dreadful place! I had once wandered there when I was younger to seek passage to the Fox kingdom so as to wipe out that disgusting existence from the face of the earth. Unfortunately, the disgusting purity of that place wiped off all my men, I was the only one to make it out. That experience haunted me for ages and there's no way I'm going back there.
"There may be a way to get through the labyrinth." What!
"I once heard of a boy born in a certain village on the hottest and coldest day. It is said that he is neither a Fox lord nor a Raven lord, because he is not pure enough neither is he dark enough. In his mind, is held the long forgotten beginning magic of yin and yang. He should be able to get a few numbers of Raven lords and the Prince through the labyrinth for a short period of time. The problem is, no one has been able to find him and believe me, people have been looking." Sounds like fantasy to me.
"Then we will search again, scorch every village and city if we have to and find him. If there is a chance that we can save my brother, then we must take it." Itachi can be irrational sometimes, he's forgetting something.
"What about the beginning magic?" I asked the question everyone has been avoiding asking.
"Don't worry about that. What's a little death and destruction? We have been living in peaceful times for too long, it's about time us Raven lords returned to our former glory in battle." And that's why father left the throne to him. I might be the darkest Raven lord but he is the Lord Supreme. But it won't stay like this forever.
"Very well then, it is settled. Tomorrow, I and the Lord Prince will set out to find the Lord of yin and yang." And when we do, it won't be pretty for anyone Lord Kakashi. It won't be pretty!
In the valley of Raven souls, hoofs of horses could be heard rushing down towards the village below. It was the Lord Prince and Lord Kakashi with more than a dozen men. Rumor has it that the village, Ling YU which is known for its mysterious weather, it was always cold in the morning and terribly hot at night was the birthplace of the Lord of yin and yang. And it was here the Raven army was headed.
The villagers, men, women, children, young and old came out of their homes as they heard the approach of the army. On their minds they wondered what the Lord Royalties could possibly want with the poor, miserable village.
The army reached and three people got down from their horses and headed for a nearby inn. As the figures disappeared behind the doors of the inn, the still curious villagers lingered around to maybe find out what was going on.
Kakashi's Pov:
As we entered the inn, the Lord Prince, the Lord General and I, the villagers gathered round, probably wondering what we were doing here. If they were any smarter, they might want to keep away. We do not know if this trip will have a positive outcome and no one knows how the Lord Prince will react if it goes otherwise.
Damn that Orichimaru, this is all because of him. He just had to place his stupid curse mark on the Lord Prince. But, this seems fishy, how was he able to get close enough to the Lord Prince to place the curse. Or maybe he let him get close. It is not improbable that it was what happened. But what can the Lord Prince possibly gain from the Rogue lord? He seems awfully calm for someone who is dying. Did he know that the search for the cure would lead us here? No! There is nothing this pathetic village could offer the Lord Prince. Or maybe, he's after The Lord yin and yang. Yes! That must be it. He must want passage through the labyrinth of opposites. But why? What could he and Orichimaru possibly want from going to that disgusting peaceful land of the Fox Lords? Staying in so much goodness could kill a Lord Supreme but if the light was to be turned dark enough, the power would be unimaginable. Pure dark magic, more powerful than beginning magic. Is that their plan?
"What can I get you for?" The bartender asked the Lord Prince, Lord General Karin and I snapping me out of my thoughts.
"We want to know about the Lord Yin and yang." The Lord General said to the bartender and color drained from his face as his speech came out in stutters
"I...I, I, I...I don't know anything about a Lord that goes by such name." Wow, this idiot was even worse than me in lying.
"Oh really?" Of course the Lord General was not buying it. This won't take long to get bad.
"But the Rumors say differently. The Lord was said to have been born in this very pathetic town and it is said that the villagers do well to hide him from the world as they consider him their sort of savior or something. So, either we were wrongly informed or, you are lying." By now, the poor bartender was trying to wiggle free from the grasps of the Lord General as she tried to choke the living hell out of him.
This was a bad idea, we shouldn't drew this much attention to ourselves. This may be a sorry excuse for a Raven town but it has still been able to hide one of the most powerful lords of all time from the world. But it is better to play it on the safe side than to be on the receiving end of the stick, in this case the sword of the Lord General.
"That's enough! He says he doesn't know." We all turned to the figure dressed in grey cloak with his piercing eyes boring into the lord General. What does this fool think he's doing?
"It's not very ladylike to choke a man. If he says he doesn't know, than you should let him go." What is this guy? A jester or something?
I look closely at the grey cloaked figure, he sure looked well built. Maybe he is a Rogue Lord or something that's hiding out in the village or maybe, he is just another fool, who doesn't know who he's dealing with.
I watched the Lord General, awaiting her reaction; the Lord Prince has not made a move till now. She smirked and tightened her grip upon the poor fellows' neck.
"Not very ladylike? Huh! I bet you would want to teach me how to be all ladylike and all that. Starting now after I let him go, he's not worth it any way." Wait! She's really letting him go? Why do I not feel relieved by her statement though?
She released her grip on the barman and made to drop him on the floor, suddenly as the other hand cupped his face in a weird gesture, she quickly snapped the neck in a flash removing it from its joint and we watched as the body dropped onto the floor.
"Whoops! I guess I don't have a very ladylike grip. My bad! You have to teach me that too." The crazy Lord was smiling at the horror stricken figure, daring him to make a move. I sighed; this was just typical of Raven Lords, especially those serving under the Lord Royals.
The Grey figure gritted his teeth and then slowly removed the cloak to reveal where he wielded a huge axe. This was going to end bloody and not the good kind. We don't have time for this. The Lord Prince needs to do something.
I turn to look at him and he was just sitting drinking a glass of something I didn't know where he got from. Of course I forgot, the darkest Raven lord, he must be glad at the prospect of spilling blood. What a monster!
"I guess I really have to teach you how to act more like a lady then." The still unnamed figure said to the Lord General as he withdrew his axe but before he could finish his sentence, a hard kick found its way to his jaw, knocking him through tables and chairs and right outside the door of the inn.
Shrieks were heard as the villagers scattered and the Lord General proceeded outside to take on her newly found opponent, or victim.
Sasuke's Pov:
I should just kill all this fools and get on with finding this Lord yin and yang. I let out a sigh as I finally make my way out the doors of this pathetic inn. As I exit, I look up to the sky to see a bunch of Ravens hovering over the sky; they must have sensed the blood too.
I lower my gaze from the sky and look towards a fighting haphazard before me. My men and the Lord General were in a miserable state. This must be the work of the rogue lord. I sensed he was strong but not this strong. Lord Kakashi was talking to the Rogue lord as I slowly advanced towards them.
As the Lord Prince advanced towards the bloody field, his men cleared the path as he made his way through them. The Lord Physician who was trying to reason with the grey cloaked figure grew quiet as his eyes landed on the withdrawn sword of the Lord Prince which was already dripping with blood. Did he kill anyone? This was the thought of the Lord Physician as the red crimson liquid dripped from the weapon of intense violence.
Indeed, if one was to head back to the once crowded inn, he would find it littered with bodies. For what reason, no one knew.
The figure clothed in black and red identified as the Raven lord advanced further until he reached a sword length to the figure in grey. Without uttering a word, the lord Prince put on his helmet and raised his sword beckoning on the grey cloaked figure to come at him.
'You're not hurting anyone else in this village." The grey figure cloaked said to his opponent before charging at his opponent with his axe raised. The Lord Prince braced himself as their weapons clashed in a terrifying spark of light.
The fight continued as it seemed the two fighting figures were evenly matched in strength. Not until the Lord Prince stopped playing defense and turned the attacker. The grey cloaked figure fell back as the enraged Lord Prince didn't allow him time to prepare himself for the quick, calculated strikes. Seeing that if he allowed himself to move any more back, he would be sorry, the Lord Prince's opponent suddenly stood his ground as the Lord Prince made another strike, the force bringing him to his knees. With one knee already on the ground the figure in grey, pushed back with all his strength knocking the Lord Prince back and as the raven lord staggered back, his opponent did not allow him time to regain his composure before giving him a heavy blow of his own but the Lord Prince blocked the impact without much effort his bloody sword, surprisingly cutting through the heavy axe. The eyes of the grey opponent widened as the sword released its hold in the cut edge of his axe and suddenly slashed towards his abdomen and he took the opportunity to attack the raven lords' face, his weapon knocking off his helmet. He smiled thinking that maybe finally he has been able to gain the upper hand in the fight but then he gave at a gasp of pain as a cold metal cut through him. He fell back landing on the ground his axe beside him. His opponent advanced towards him with blood dripping down from the cold metal in his hand.
"No, dad!" a tiny voice was heard as a young boy charged towards the fighters. The fighters froze and turned towards the voice as a young boy of about 10 years old came running to lie on the side of the fallen grey cloaked figure
"No Yuri, go back." The fallen fighter shoved a blood stained hand trying to push away the young boy clinging to him. The sobbing boy kept right on to his fathers' side refusing to move an inch until a shadow suddenly appeared and shoved the tiny clingy boy away from his dying father. The crying boy refused to stay down as he rushed back to grab the leg of the lord about to put an end to his father.
"No, stop. Don't hurt dad. Please, hfffff...stop...ppp...Don't hurt my daddy." The still sobbing boy pleaded, still gripping the leg of the intended murderer. It seemed the Lord Prince was having second thoughts as he stood still for a while, making no further attempt to shove the boy away from him. The Raven lord reached with a hand and lifted the sobbing mess away from his legs and lifted him to his face, staring at him for a while with a blank expression on his face but then suddenly a look of anger flashed through his face and he threw the boy with a devastating force away from him against a wall. The boy landed with a thud, blood gushing from his mouth and passed out.
Before anyone could make any further moves, the Raven lords' sword slashed through the head of the grey cloaked figure already passing out from loss of blood, splitting his skull in two.
Kakashi's Pov:
Huh! I knew this will happen. This has gone out of hand. Granted, the Lord Prince is ruthless, but he was never one to kill without a reason. His irrational behavior started since the rogue lord Orichimaru placed a curse mark on him. Apart from draining his life source, I wonder what else it's doing to him. The Lord Prince has grown more aggressive and his taste for blood has become unreasonable. It must be the effect of that curse mark. We need to move fast if we are to avoid any further casualties.
I watched the lord prince as he wiped his sword on the dead body and sheathed it behind him. He turned to face the unconscious boy which he had thrown at a wall few minutes ago and walked towards him. What is he planning to do? He's not thinking... Oh no! I must stop this.
"No, lord Prince." I stood before the Lord Prince blocking his view from the unconscious boy. I looked up to him and his eyes were a crimson red, intent to kill escaping from him. This was a mistake, he's not himself.
"Get out of the way Lord Kakashi. He cannot be allowed to live. He is the spawn of that fool. If he's allowed another day, we will regret it." The raven was not thinking clearly.
"You are not thinking clearly my lord. Calm down lord Prince. Remember, why we're here. The more you use up your evil energy the more your life source gets drained. And we don't want that happening." The red eyes faded to its normal color and the Lord Prince finally retreated.
"Get ready to move out. I'll find someone who knows something about our mission." The raven lord was back to his composed self.
I'm so glad that is over. I don't want something like that repeating again. To stop from doing so, we need to find the Lord Yin and yang and fast.
