The Mirror
The alarm cut through the silence at exactly 6:00 AM.
Adrian’s eyes opened instantly. No groaning. No fumbling. Just — open.
He silenced it with one tap and lay still, staring up at the white ceiling above him.
Adrain Vale
Another day. Same ceiling. Same routine.
He pulled himself out from under the warm covers. The cold air hit him immediately.
Adrain Vale
(Didn’t flinch)
The shower ran almost cold. He stepped in anyway, closing his eyes as the water rushed over his face. He took one slow breath.
Adrain Vale
This is the only moment that’s actually mine.
Adrain Vale
Before the office. Before the expectations. Before the world remembers I exist and wants something from me.
He moved through his routine without thinking. Cleanser. Scrub. Moisturizer. Shampoo. Conditioner. Aftershave. In that order. Always in that order.
Stopped infront of the mirror
Adrain Vale
(Light beige skin, freshly shaved. Raven black hair with curtain bangs, soft and perfectly styled. Misty blue eyes — not a single bag beneath them.)
Adrain Vale
Pretty Boy(slow chuckle )
Adrain Vale
A thousand times I’ve heard it. A thousand times I’ve brushed it off.
Adrain Vale
Lately it feels less like a description and more like an insult.
A slow breath passed through his lips. He turned away from the mirror.
The coffee machine hummed in the kitchen. He cracked two eggs and folded them into a perfect French omelet. He sat down at the white table and ate alone.
Adrain Vale
Balanced meal. Nutritious. Controlled. Just like everything else in my life.
Adrain Vale
I wonder sometimes if I actually enjoy any of this — or if I just don’t know anything else.
He set his fork down. The plate was clean. The kitchen was spotless.
He stood up and headed to the walk-in closet.
Everything was pressed. Everything was hung in order. Everything was exactly where it should be.
He pulled out a slim black turtleneck. Grey slacks. Black Oxfords. A dark brown leather belt with a golden buckle.
Adrain Vale
**Simple. Clean. Deliberate. The turtleneck shows the lines of my build without trying too hard. The buckle adds just enough weight — the kind that says money without screaming it.**
He stood before the full length mirror and checked his reflection.
Adrain Vale
I look good. That’s not arrogance. That’s just the standard I was raised to maintain.
Adrain Vale
Wealthy families don’t raise children. They raise representatives.
Adrain Vale
And I have been representing mine since the day I was old enough to understand what that meant.
He checked his Rolex. 7:42 AM. Right on time.
Grabbed his documents, slipped them into his shoulder bag and walked out
The elevator doors slid shut. For a brief moment it was just him — and his own reflection staring back from the mirrored walls.
The black trench coat felt heavy on his shoulders.
Adrain Vale
**It always feels heavy lately **(sigh)

Gold & Silver
The silver Porsche cut through morning traffic like it owned every lane.
Adrian drove fast — but never recklessly. He knew every route, every turn, every shortcut through the city like the back of his hand.
Adrain Vale
**Fast but controlled. There’s a difference. Most people don’t understand that.**
Gold & Silver Law rose tall against the grey morning sky. Its logo gleamed high on the wall — quiet, dominant, unmistakable.
Adrain Vale
Two years. I’ve worked here for almost two years and it still feels like I’m auditioning for a role I was cast in before I was even born.
He parked in his private spot, stepped out and straightened his coat.
The moment he walked through the front doors — he felt it.
Colleagues moved through the lobby in sharp suits and expensive shoes, their conversations a mix of case talk and quiet gossip.
Adrain Vale
** They always look. And then they whisper. I’ve learned to walk like I don’t notice.**
Adrain Vale
**I always notice.**
He stepped into the elevator. Two colleagues were already inside. They smiled at him — polished, practiced smiles.
Adelia(colleague 1)
Morning, Adrian
The doors closed. The moment they thought he wasn’t listening — the whispers started.
Adelia(colleague 1)
(low voice) “Did you hear he’s handling the Harrington case personally?”
Roxanne(colleague 2)
(low voice) “Of course he is. Daddy’s connections and all that.”
Adrain Vale
**There it is **
Adrain Vale
** doesn’t matter how many cases I win. To them I’ll always just be the pretty boy with a powerful last name.**
The elevator opened. The floor buzzed with quiet energy — hushed conversations, keyboards clicking, phones ringing in the distance.
Serra was already at her desk outside his office, perfectly poised. She stood the moment she saw him, a bright smile on her face.
Serra(Secretary)
Good morning, sir! Your mail and agenda are all ready on your desk!
Adrain Vale
Thank you Serra
He walked past her without breaking stride. The office door clicked shut behind him.
He stood still for a moment and let it settle over him.
Then he took off his coat, hung it on the back of his chair and sat down. The stack of files was already neatly arranged on one side of his desk.
Adrain Vale
(Opened first one) Embezzlement case. High profile. Multiple defendants.
Adrain Vale
This is going to be a long week.(sigh)
Adrain Vale
(Picked his pen and started working)
For a few minutes — just a few — the outside world didn’t exist. No whispers. No expectations. No weight on his shoulders.
Just the logic of the law laid out neatly in front of him.
To him This is the only place where things actually make sense
Rules. Evidence. Arguments. Verdicts. Nothing arbitrary. Nothing unexpected.
Then — the door swung open.
