She is holding a cigarette between her French-manicured fingers, blowing smoke into the air with a cold look on her face

He is the son of the rich Kensington family. He is incredibly handsome with messy dark hair, a leather jacket, and a very proud, arrogant smile.
He and Lila dated for a whole year)

Maya walks quietly through the shadows.
She is wearing a soft cream sweater that Lila gave her. Suddenly, a hand reaches out from a corner and pulls her against the brick wall
It is Ethan. He smells like expensive cologne and tobacco smoke.

Look who finally left Lila’s side for a minute.

Chapter 2
Ethan leans closer, his tall shadow completely covering Maya.
He places one hand on the brick wall right next to her head, his heavy silver chain swinging slightly against his dark leather jacket.

(His voice drops to a low whisper, full of ego)
Why do you let her dictate your entire life? She does not own you, Maya. And she does not own me anymore either.
*maya Looked down, avoiding his intense gaze*

You don't understand, Ethan.
She is my best friend. She gave me a home when I had absolutely nothing. I owe her everything.

*Chuckles darkly, lifting her chin up with his fingers*

Is that why you stayed so late at the neon club last weekend? Because you owe her? Because I distinctly remember you hiding in the VIP booth with me.

*Panic flashes in her wide, expressive eyes*
Stop talking about that night.
The club, the smoking, the drinks... that kiss was a complete mistake. We were both high on the atmosphere. It cannot happen again.

*Smirks arrogantly, his thumb brushing against her bottom lip*

A mistake? You didn’t look like you were regretting it when my hands were on your waist. You wanted to escape her just as badly as I did.
Suddenly, Maya’s phone vibrates aggressively inside her pocket.
The sharp buzzing sound cuts through the quiet air.
She pulls it out with trembling hands.
The screen lights up with three consecutive text messages from Lila.
Lila: 📲💭 Maya? Where are you?
Lila: 📲💭 I have been waiting by the school gates for ten minutes. You know I hate being left alone.
Lila: [Text] You aren't near him, right? Answer me.
Chapter 3
Maya stares at Lila’s texts, her breathing shallow and frantic.
Her hands shake so violently she can barely press the screen.
Ethan watches her panic, his proud smile widening.
Ethan Reached out, his fingers casually playing with the collar of her cream sweater

Look at how terrified you are. She really has you trained, doesn't she, little orphan?

*Whispering, her voice trembling as tears brim in her eyes*
Please, Ethan... don't do this. I have to go to her.

*Maya quickly types a frantic lie to Lila*
📲💭 "Sorry! A teacher stopped me. Running to the gates now!"
She tears herself away from Ethan's heavy grip and runs down the corridor, her heart hammering against her ribs.
She can still hear Ethan's dark chuckle echoing behind her.
Minutes Later-Inside Lila’s Luxury Sports Car -
Lila is sitting in the driver’s seat, wearing a glamorous designer outfit and expensive sunglasses.
She looks beautiful but incredibly cold. Maya sits next to her, keeping her head down like a scolded child.

You took too long, Maya. You know I despise waiting. And you smell like tobacco smoke.
maya
*freezes* I... the teacher who stopped me was smoking near the office, Lila.
I'm sorry. I won't do it again.
Lila expression softens into a sweet, chilling smile.
She reaches over, gripping Maya’s chin tightly, forcing her to look at her.
