Muggle world, Japan, Aomori,
There was Tanaka family living in a normal village. Their ancestors were witches and wizards who studied at Hogwarts but the magical power somehow fades, so later generations own an apple farm.
On the first day of summer, Tanaka family had a daughter named Natsu but sadly, a few days later her parents passed away in an accident, so the village’s librarian took care of her from that day on and she let Natsu call her “aunt”, and because of spending all day in the library, Natsu likes reading. She likes to read books about magic, fantastic beasts and alchemy.
She lived a normal life until one day, she looked at the bookshelf and couldn't find her favorite book—someone had read it and hadn't put it back. Natsu reached out her hand, scanning the shelves.
But her reach caused the book to levitate! Her first use of magic occurred. At first, she didn't think much of it, but a week later, a letter arrived. Her aunt didn't know what it was, but it was addressed to Natsu. She showed it to her, and she opened it, seeing the message:
“Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
To Ms. Natsu and his guardian
Ms. Natsu has been selected to attend Hogwarts, and the term begins September 1st. Please check the list of books and supplies carefully. We await your owl by July 31st.
Sincerely yours,
Minerva McGonagall”
Followed by another letter detailing what first-year students needed to bring.
“School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, huh?” her aunt asked, glancing at her.
“Yes, it was a long time ago…” "My ancestors came to me in a dream and told me I'm the inheritor of magic," Natsu said. She didn't know why she remembered the dream so vividly.
"That's right. Your ancestors were wizards and witches. They probably want you to inherit magic," her aunt murmured.
"I guess so," Natsu replied.
"Huh? But what did they mean by the owl?" her aunt wondered.
"Probably a way of sending letters," Natsu guessed.
"So, will you be studying here?" his aunt asked.
"Whatever," Natsu replied. Her current school was fine, but going to Hogwarts might offer a different experience.
"If they don't force you, continue at your current school," her aunt said.
"But even if you've made your decision, if it's according to your ancestors' wishes, then you'll have to follow them," her aunt added.
"Oh, there's one more thing I haven't told you," her aunt continued.
"Originally, this library wasn't meant to collect a variety of books. It was meant to store stories of magic," Aunt told Natsu.
"Huh? But I've never seen books this old before," Natsu said, still confused.
"That's right. All these books were destroyed in the tsunami, but one cabinet survived," Aunt explained.
"Oh, where is this bookshelf?" Natsu asked.
"It's behind the fantasy bookshelf. When they salvaged the wreckage, it was some time after the Tanaka family's (Natsu's) ancestors' time. The cabinet had 'To the Inheritor of Magic' written on it and was sealed with a talisman, so no one dared open it. When the library was renovated again, someone added another bookshelf on the other side and wrote, 'Do not flip it over. Contains the Tanaka family's magic books.' So now it's appropriate to flip the cabinet over for you to see. I heard that no one can open this cabinet," Auntie explained, then slowly slid the bookshelf over for Natsu to see.
Natsu easily opened the cabinet. One book caught his eye, titled 'Western Magic.' She picked it up. It was an old record. The book contained information about Hogwarts during the time his ancestors attended, and he came across a page describing where school supplies were purchased: “Diagon Alley is where I bought the things mentioned in the letter…” along with old directions on how to get there. A much newer-looking Post-it note read, “(Later update) Diagon Alley is now easily accessible from Japan via going through a wall in Shinkansen station, then onward to England. The old method can then be used.”
Natsu didn't know who could have altered the book, but at least she now knew where the items described were sold.
To be continued…
She followed the book's instructions by going through a wall in Aomori Shinkansen station, magically she arrived at England in a blink of an eye. She found “The Leaky Cauldron” and navigated through Diagon Alley.
She exchanged money at Gringotts Bank.
“Can I open an account?” Asked Natsu.
“Sure, by the way what’s your name?” Asked the bank employee.
“Tanaka Natsu,” She answered.
“Oh, your family name is the same as the one who had deposited 427 years ago,” The bank employee said.
“But this family name is so popular in Japan,” She said, confused.
“But in this bank, there are just two people who use the bank account with this family name, Tanaka Ayato and Tanaka Tsukiko,” The bank employee said.
“They are my ancestors!” Natsu exclaimed.
“Okay, Tsukiko wrote in her testament that her money will be entailed to her magic inheritor, Tanaka Natsu, 427 years later,” the bank employee told her.
“So can I withdraw the money from Tsukiko’s account and change her name into mine?” Natsu asked.
“Sure! Tsukiko also wrote in her testament that she cast a spell on her account. Only the true inheritor can withdraw the money,” The bank employee told.
Natsu withdrew the money and prepared to buy other things.
She went back to the Leaky Cauldron shop and bought a standard pewter cauldron. Then she stopped at Ollivander's wand shop. But as she was about to choose a wand, Mr. Ollivander stopped her and said:
“A wand chooses its owner. You must try it first.”
Natsu was quite confused about this. ‘A wand that chooses it’s owner?’ She thought.
Ollivander then measured Natsu's arms, legs, hands, and height, and had Natsu try on wands that seemed suitable.
“Ah, this one, holly, unicorn hair, ten inches, just try waving it in the air,” Ollivander said.
Natsu tried waving it, but it felt a little awkward in her hand. Ollivander snatched it back.
“Then, oak, dragon heartstring, ten and a half inches,” he had Natsu try, but it didn't seem right either.
“How about this one, oak, phoenix feather, nine and a half inches,” he had Natsu try again, but this wand still hadn't chosen her as its owner.
“Ah! You're from the East, aren't you?” he asked Natsu.
“Yes,” Natsu replied.
“Then you must try a willow.” "Let's try this one first. Willow wood, unicorn hair, nine and a half inches," Ollivander began to feel confident.
Natsu waved her wand again. Now, she felt warmth in her arm, glowing silver and blue sparks sparkled from her wand.
“This wand is perfect!” Exclaimed Natsu. And Ollivander was certain that this was Natsu's wand.
Natsu paid for it, went to buy her robes and hat, then went to the train station to buy a ticket for platform 9 3/4, the Shinkansen station, and then returned home as usual. As for the animal the school required her to bring, it was Yuki, her Shimaenaga bird.
"Shimaenaga will probably do," Natsu murmured.
School starts in two weeks, Natsu thought.
"Life will be different," Natsu murmured.
Life at Hogwarts is about to begin. Natsu excitedly packed her things to prepare for her departure to Hogwarts.

September 1st, Morning
Natsu woke up early to catch her train to the Shinkansen station. Dressed in her witch’s robes, she prepared her luggage and equipment, placed Yuki in a cage and headed to the front door of her house.
“I’ll go, goodbye and take care!” Natsu said.
“Bye! Take care too!” Aunt said to her.
Natsu gently closed the door. She farewell her home, the library and her family’s apple farm. She headed to Aomori station and looked out the window to the green forest. She farewell her hometown and slowly walked to the ticket gate.
The ticket gate had no issues with her ticket, which gave her a small sense of relief. Finding a moment when the crowds were thin, she phased through the pillar at Platform 9 and instantly emerged in England.
At Platform 9 ¾, Natsu checked the time from a clock at King’s Cross station. It was currently 10:30 AM in Japan.
"Oh my goodness! No way! It’s really only 1:30 AM here? There’s nobody around," Natsu muttered. She realized she would have to wait a long time before the train departed, having forgotten to account for the time difference in England.
However, two girls around her age walked in and headed toward a capsule hotel*. Before they could turn in for the night, Natsu went over to talk to them.
"Ah… why are you guys here so early?"
"Oh, we took a connecting train from Northern Ireland, so we have to stay here," one of the girls replied.
"Well, we’ll see each other at Hogwarts, right? Just so you know, my name is Iris, and my twin is Irene. What’s yours?" Iris asked.
"I’m from Japan. My name is Natsu. I hope we end up in the same house at Hogwarts," Natsu told them.
"Oh! What a cute bird," Iris remarked.
"Mm-hmm. She’s a bird I rescued from near my home. A Shima Enaga," she replied.
"A what-now?" Iris asked, puzzled.
"A Shima Enaga. It can do everything an owl does," Natsu answered.
"Mmm... we’re going to sleep now," Irene said sleepily, heading to capsule hotel with Iris.
The next morning at 11:00 AM, the station became bustling with people.
The train pulled into the station exactly on time, and everyone boarded. Natsu, Iris, and Irene chose to sit together. There was one seat left empty, which was soon taken by Ginny.
"Last year was so chaotic," Ginny told the three of them. "The Dark Lord was on the rampage, but luckily, he was defeated."
"Then we’re lucky we didn't arrive while Lord Voldemort was causing all that trouble," Natsu said.
"Shh! Don't call him Lord Voldemort," Irene warned. "People call him 'You-Know-Who,' 'He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named,' or 'The Dark Lord.'"
"I hope you all get into Gryffindor, our house," Ginny said warmly. "I heard Hogwarts is being renovated to make the dorms and school buildings look a bit more modern. They’re going to separate the professors' quarters, split the dorms into three-person rooms, and even add room numbers."
"That sounds great! Our school is going to look so much better," Iris said.
The conversation continued until the train gradually slowed to a halt at Hogwarts Station. They headed into Hogwarts, excited for the sorting ceremony.
To be continued.
Notes: King’s Cross station had been renovated after the year of Harry Potter, so a capsule hotel had been added.
