Chapter 1: Shi's first zombie encounter
Rain tapped softly against the windows of the cheap love motel room. A teenager is sleeping on a bed of that motel. Maybe a sense of freedom after graduation — slipping into an adult party scene she wasn’t really supposed to be part of, staying at a cheap love motel afterward because it was easier than going home late. It's one type of rebellious act that Shi wants to do after graduation.
She looked normal for the night---- slightly tired, hair a bit messy, mind half still in the noise of earlier music and people.
Nothing in her posture suggested a survival instinct.
Shi Tanaka was half asleep beneath the dim yellow motel light when the phone suddenly rang beside the bed.

*blinked once and twice*

*confused, maybe little annoyance*

(then reached over lazily)

(almost didn’t pick it up)

Meng? *casually, still half in "normal life mode.”*

But the voice on the other end didn’t match anything normal. Meng wasn’t calm.

(Exhaled slowly, rubbed her eyes once, and sat still for a moment longer)

Just mildly annoyed and confused.*

( paused near the motel window and pulled the curtain slightly aside)
The street outside looked wrong.
Cars abandoned at strange angles.
So Shi stepped outside the motel room to find what's happening.
That’s when reality stopped matching expectations. The hallway was wrong. It's quiet. To quite for love motels.
A man at the far end staggered into view.

*frowned slightly*

Hey—are you okay?
Shi Tanaka
💭 is he drunk? Injured? [look at that man injuries] drugged and somehow get injury?
He didn’t respond correctly. He turned. Slow. Off. Wrong posture. Then he started moving toward her.
Looking at dark and seeing nothing what the person's face looks like. It scarier than you think. Shi hesitated for half a second longer than she should have. That hesitation is what changes everything.
Because the man suddenly lunged.

(Barely dodged)
Her shoulder hit the wall. Pain snapped her fully awake.

Ahhh *groan in pain*—What the hell?!
Survival confusion is turning into survival recognition. She shoved him back instinctively, but he came again immediately — relentless, unnatural trying to bite her.
That’s when her thinking breaks out of “normal world logic.”
Something in her expression changes.

And that is what creates something fear in Shi's heart. She felt genuine fear.
The kind that settles coldly into your stomach when the world stops making sense. Shi stands still for a second in the hallway, breathing slightly heavier now. Looking at the man who's trying to crawl back to her. Then she heard lots of groan sounds from the hallway without wasting any time She retreated back to her room. And lock it. Put a cabinet on the door. She is calm. Not trained calm. Not composed strategist.
Just a young woman trying to force reality back into something understandable.
Then her brother’s warning finally replays in her head properly:
“Get out of the city.”
loud banging making her move quickly, pulling on her dress while mentally reorganizing priorities. Wallet. Keys. Kitchen Knife. Phone.
Shi opened her phone to see. it has 75% battery.

*smile* At least I have a battery in my phone.
Her movements were fast but controlled before the door blast open. Using bedsheets shi climb out the window.
Chapter 2: Leon and Shi met
Rain poured over Shi Tanaka as she stepped out of the motel and into the streets of Raccoon City.
Didn’t have military training. Didn’t know anything about viruses, bioweapons, or outbreaks.

Only a kitchen knife she had grabbed from the motel room before leaving.

💭 I am really stupid to bring this thing with me.
At first, she almost felt stupid for bringing it. Now her hand refused to let it go.
Streetlights flickered across wet pavement. Emergency sirens screamed somewhere far away while smoke drifted above the rooftops. Cars sat abandoned with engines still running.
Suddenly, A radio from a car caught her attention: "Attention all citizens: Due to the citywide outbreak you are advised to take shelter at the raccoon city police station. Free food and medical supplies will be provided to everyone in need."
Shi opens her phone map to see the location. She will reach there quickly if she uses an alley or uses building roofs. Doesn't matter as long as shi get the hell out of here.

I hope meng is already out of this f***ing city.
Then disappeared into the rain-soaked streets of Raccoon City — just as the city began collapsing around her.
Around the raccoon police station
The deep shi goes the more abnormal things shi sees. Not only the environment but also the people.
people were acting wrong.
A man stumbled directly into traffic without reacting to nearby fire.
Another person slammed repeatedly against a locked pharmacy door hard Enough to bloody their own face.

[kept walking quickly, eyes constantly moving]

[Then heard screaming]
It came from the diner across the street.

The front windows of the diner were shattered. Inside, tables were overturned and blood stained the floor near the counter.
A woman suddenly burst through the front door crying hysterically.
She only made it three steps before something grabbed her ankle from behind.
A man crawled out after her. No----- not crawling. Dragging himself. Then she finally sees his face properly. The horror scene Shi missed in the motel. Face covered in blood. Torn skin. Eyes empty and unfocused. One arm bent the wrong way.
The woman kicked and screamed while he bit directly into her leg and tore off the skin.

[This scene makes Shi's stomach twisted violently]
The sound was horrible. Wet. Animalistic. The attacker tore flesh from her leg while she screamed for help.

[Grip tightened around the knife]

(Every instinct told her: Run)
But the woman noticed her and looked directly at her. Begging. And for one dangerous second......
That second almost got her killed again.
The blood-covered man suddenly looked up from the woman and noticed Shi standing there.
Then he started getting up. Slowly. Jerking unnaturally. The woman kept screaming beneath him.

(backed away immediately)

💭 This wasn’t normal. Nothing about this was normal.
The man lurched toward her with horrifying speed.

(barely dodged sideways as his hands grabbed at empty air near her throat)
The smell hit her then. Rotting flesh. Blood.
Pure adrenaline slammed through her body.
Shi Tanaka
(shoved him away hard and ran several steps back, knife shaking slightly in her hand now)
The man staggered upright again almost immediately. Like pain meant nothing.
That terrified her more than the blood did.
The injured woman behind him.....
Evelyn
(Suddenly stopped screaming)
Shi Tanaka
(looked over instinctively—
and felt cold spread through her chest)
Evelyn
(was moving again. But wrong. Very wrong)
Evelyn
(Was trying to stand despite the torn flesh hanging from her leg.
Her face twitched strangely)
Then both of them started moving toward Shi together.
That was the exact moment denial died again. first in morel and now. These weren’t injured people anymore.
Shi Tanaka
(And if she hesitated again— she would die.)
The first zombie lunged suddenly.
Shi Tanaka
*Reacted on instinct*
Shi Tanaka
*Drove the kitchen knife upward with both hands directly into its neck*
The blade sank deep. Warm blood covered her fingers instantly.
The zombie slammed into her anyway, knocking her backward against a parked car.
Its teeth snapped only inches from her face.
Shi Tanaka
(Pulse exploded into panic for the first time that night. Not emotional panic. Survival panic.)
Shi Tanaka
(shoved upward desperately, forcing the knife deeper and slash the digastric muscle while the zombie clawed violently at her jacket)
Then the body suddenly went limp. Fall onto her shoulder. Heavy. Dead.
Shi Tanaka
(Pushed it off her and stumbled backward breathing hard)
Shi Tanaka
(Rain washed diluted blood across her trembling hands)
Shi Tanaka
(Her eyes locked onto the corpse)
Shi Tanaka
💭 I just killed someone. Or something pretending to still be someone. Am I a killer now?
Evelyn
(The second zombie dragged itself closer)
Shi Tanaka
(Immediately raised the knife again despite her shaking breathing)
And that scared her almost as much as the creatures themselves. Because part of her had already adapted frighteningly fast.
Gunshots cracked through the street.
Evelyn
(The second zombie’s head jerked violently sideways before collapsing.)

*Spun around sharply*

(See a man with dirty blond hair and blue eyes, pistol raised with both hands.)

💭 he look older than me.
Rain dripped from his hair as he stared at the bodies in shock, breathing hard himself. For a brief second, both of them looked equally horrified. Equally, confused. It's like neither fully understanding what they had just seen.
