the wind blows from the window of the cab as I leaned on the window to see how much of it have changed since the last time I was here.
As I arrived home I hesitated to get out of cab, afraid that all the memories I have created in this very place would come back and haunt me.
I stepped out of the car and was getting my luggage from the trunk when I saw a Noah walking towards me, I pinched the strap of my bag which was hanging on my shoulder and acted unbothered, "don't you think you're a bit late" he said standing in front of me resting his hand on the car" I don't think so" I said as I continue to unload my luggage from the trunk" I am not talking about the time, I am talking about how long you've been away from home" he said" cut the nonsense and help me carry the luggage" I said, ignoring his question.
We went inside the house and my mom and dad greeted me with a hug and as I was resting on the couch Noah came out of my room after leaving my luggage and sat next to me, he grab a glass of water from the table in front and drinks it as I stare at him and wondered how he could still be the same after all these years.
He put the empty glass on the table and leaned his head on the couch and asked "why'd you never called" I looked at him, his brown eyes look disappointed and I said" I was busy with works" he ruffled my hair with his hand he says "you grow up way too fast it feels like yesterday we use to hangout together, now its hard to even see your face"
"Are you still doing your woodcraft thing"? I asked "right, and since you're here now I'll start making the table I promised to make for you" he said "you don't have to" I said trying to drop the topic" why? Aren't you going to get married" he said looking straight at me in the eyes "sure if you want to" I said as I stand up and walked by the fridge to get a bottle of cold water and drink it.
And just like that, I was 17 again.
It was spring, I was lying on the couch, the same couch Noah was lying right now.
I was crocheting when Noah came and said" you crochet"? "Yeah" I said, heart pounding and trying to hide my smile "can you crochet a bag for me"? He asked "sure! What kinda bag"? I asked, and he shows me a bag through his phone, it was a cross-body bag blue and white checkered.
After that day I crochet day and night to make that bag and was finally done, he came to get the bag and was so happy with the result he said" I will make a table for you as a gift to your wedding" with a smile on his face, that smile shattered me into pieces.
