Boss It's Always You
Why Is My CEO So Scary?!
Jay park
Ahhhhhhhh!
It's already 9:30 am. I'm going to be on my first day. “How will I reach on time in this heavy rain outside?”
“The rain was loud, but not louder than my bad luck.”
“Jay arrived at the office drenched in rain, holding a coffee in his hand.”
“And in the middle of all that rush, he bumped into a man wearing a black suit.”
I'm sorry. I'm just in hurry. But I spill coffee everywhere.
Everyone in the office is terrified because he is the CEO. But jay didn't know him.
Jay panics and says:
“Please tell me you’re not important.”
Silence........
Then another employee whispers:
“That’s the CEO…”
Victor slowly looks at Jay, annoyed but strangely curious because Jay is the first employee who didn’t act scared around him.
“Victor looked sharply at Jay and said, ‘Come to my office right now.’”
“I felt a little scared and walked toward the office with my head lowered.”
Jay park
“The CEO looked at me and said, ‘Being late to my office is not acceptable, and discipline comes first here.’”
He seems very cold.
“But somehow, I couldn’t stop looking at him.”
“Even so, I couldn’t take my eyes off him.”
“Despite his cold expression, I couldn’t stop staring at him.”
Victor hale
“Enough talking. Get back to work.”
Jay park
“There’s a lot of work at the office today. I’ll reach on time, finish everything, and win the CEO’s heart.”
“The CEO was working in his office, but I couldn’t stop looking at him. I kept staring at him without realizing it.”
“Why am I staring at him?” I said to myself. “Come on, let’s focus on work.”
Victor hale
“Everyone, come to the meeting room quickly. It’s an urgent meeting.”
The company is starting a new project.
And I need to choose an employee for this.
“The CEO glanced at Jay. ‘Jay will handle this project.’”
“Everyone was shocked when the CEO chose Jay for the project.”
Jay park
“I was startled when the CEO chose me for the project.”
“Now I have to work even harder and focus properly to live up to the CEO’s trust.”
Victor hale
“Jay, come to my office. We need to discuss the project.”
Victor hale
“This project isn’t easy.”
“If you can’t handle pressure, tell me now.”
Jay park
“I know this project is difficult, but I’ll do my best.”
“I may lack experience, but I’ll work harder than anyone.”
“I’ll complete it no matter what.”
“The CEO smiled slightly and said, ‘Then get ready. We’re leaving for the meeting with the client.’”
Closer than before
Jay park
The office floor was completely silent except for the sound of keyboards clicking around me.
I quietly sat at my desk, trying my best not to make any mistakes.
But my mind kept going back to him.
“Why do I keep thinking about him again and again? I need to focus on my work.”
Victor had stepped out of his office.
“The CEO’s eyes were making everyone nervous.”
He slowly walked through the office, checking every department.
Jay park
His footsteps stopped near my desk.
My heart almost skipped a beat.
He picked up one of the files from my table and looked through it silently.
After a few seconds, he spoke in a calm but sharp voice.
“This format is wrong.”
I quickly stood up.
“I-I’m sorry, sir. I’ll fix it right now.”
He looked at me for a moment.
For some reason, his gaze felt heavier than before.
Victor hale
“You’re new here, right?”
“Then learn fast. I don’t like repeating myself.”
“I’m trusting you with this project. I expect you to do the work properly.”
After saying that, he turned around and walked away.
Jay park
I Let out the breath I was holding.
“He’s terrifying…” I whispered to myself.
Suddenly, my coworker leaned closer and whispered dramatically,
“You survived your first interaction with the CEO. Congratulations.”
I almost laughed.
Jay park
Before I could say anything, the office phone on my desk rang.
I picked it up carefully.
“H-Hello?”
“This is the CEO’s office. Mr. Victor wants you in his office immediately.”
My eyes widened.
“What?!”
Jay park
My coworker looked at me with sympathy.
“May your soul rest in peace.”
Jay park
I swallowed nervously and slowly walked toward the CEO’s office.
And somehow…
I had a feeling this meeting was about to change everything.
Victor hale
“Did you fix the mistakes in the work? You can’t afford to be late with work. I want the corrected file by tomorrow.”
Jay park
“I swallowed hard and said, ‘Okay, sir.’”
Victor hale
“Okay then, get back to work.”
“So, are you going to work overtime today? If you need any help, let us know. We’ll help you with your work.”
Jay park
“No, it’s okay. I’ll finish the work today itself. You guys can go home. You don’t need to worry about me.”
“Everyone went home. Now Jay was the only one in the office, finishing the work alone.”
Jay park
“I’m feeling really tired, but I have to finish my work today.”
Suddenly—
A cup of warm coffee appeared beside the desk.
Jay looked up in surprise.
Victor was standing there quietly.
Victor hale
“I didn’t tell you to overwork yourself,” he said coldly.
Jay blinked in confusion.
“Sir…?”
Victor looked at the computer screen.
Victor hale
“You’re still fixing the files?
I didn’t tell you to work overtime.
You can go home.”
Jay park
"Yes, but I wanted to complete everything today."
For a moment, Victor stayed silent.
Then he pulled a chair beside Jay and sat down.
Victor hale
"Move."
“I’ll help you finish it faster.”
Jay stared at him in shock.
Jay park
“Was this truly the same cold-hearted CEO everyone feared?”
“I can’t take my eyes off him. I want to see him more. He is sitting beside me and helping me finish my work. How am I supposed to believe this?”
“Victor suddenly looked at Jay. He spoke up.”
Victor hale
“Go home now. It’s already very late. But… how will you go home?”
Jay park
“I’ll take a taxi from here now. Don’t worry, I’ll go home safely.”
Victor hale
“Alright, come on. I’ll drop you home.”
“Jay refused a few times, but Victor didn’t listen. In the end, Jay agreed to go with Victor.”
“Words He Shouldn’t Have Said”
Jay finally reached home that night.
The room was quiet. Too quiet....
He dropped his bag on the chair and sat on the edge of his bed, loosening his collar slightly.
He leaned back slowly, staring at the ceiling.
Jay park
“Why did he tell me, ‘don’t stay this late alone’?”
“Is he worried about me?”
Those words kept replaying in his mind.Jay frowned a little, confused at himself.
Jay park
Why did that sound different… when Victor said it?
He turned on his side, pulling his phone out, then stopping before unlocking it. Nothing important. Still, he couldn’t focus.
Jay muttered to himself, “Why am I thinking about him so much?”
A small sigh escaped him.
He got up, walked to the window. Outside, the streetlights flickered softly, cars passing in the distance. Everything normal. But inside his head—nothing felt normal anymore.
Jay park
“Am I feeling something special for him? Am I… no, that can’t be, am I falling in love with him?”
Ahhhhhhhh!
“This can’t be true… how will I face him tomorrow?”
Back at the office, Victor’s expression… kept coming back.
Not angry.
Not strict.
Just… unreadable.
Jay shook his head slightly, as if trying to clear it.
“Focus, Jay,” he whispered.
But even as he said it… his thoughts didn’t listen.
Jay park
“Why do I keep looking at him again and again? Have I really fallen in love with him? I love my CEO.”
“How will I stand in front of him? No, I have to focus on this project.”
Victor hale
“Jay, come to my office. We need to talk about work.”
“Jay quickly went towards the office.”
Victor hale
“We have a meeting today, get ready quickly. We will go together. We have to explain the project to the client. You are ready for that, right?”
Jay park
“Yes, I am fully ready. I am very confident about my work.”
Victor hale
“Okay, then let’s go to the meeting.”
“They went out together for work.”
“Jay stayed silent on the way, and Victor’s words kept repeating in his mind.”
The car moved smoothly through the road, but Jay’s mind was anything but calm. He kept looking out of the window, yet Victor’s cold, composed expression kept flashing in his thoughts again and again. After a while, Victor finally spoke, his voice breaking the silence.
Victor hale
“Do you have any confusion about the presentation?”
Jay park
“No… sir, I’m ready.”
A short silence returned again.
But somehow, even in that silence, Jay felt himself becoming more aware of Victor… and that feeling was getting harder to ignore
Victor hale
“Come on, we have arrived. Let’s finish the meeting and come back.”
“Victor introduced Jay to his client. The meeting ended very well. Victor was also quite pleased with Jay. Victor told Jay, ‘Come, let’s go. Dinner is on me today.’”
Jay park
“Yay! Then let’s eat something superb today, and also have a little wine, sir please.”
Victor hale
Victor gave a small nod. “Fine. Today you did well… so we can relax a little.”
For a moment, Jay looked surprised. He didn’t expect Victor to agree so easily.
A small smile appeared on Jay’s face before he could stop it.
Jay park
“Really? Thank you, sir.”
Victor glanced at him briefly, then looked away again, hiding any expression that might have shown more than professionalism.
“Don’t misunderstand it,” he said in his usual calm tone. “It’s just a reward for good work.”
They walked toward the car together.
But this time, the silence between them didn’t feel heavy.
It felt… a little warmer than before
“After they finished dinner, they started drinking wine.”
“Jay suddenly spoke up.”
Jay park
“The dinner was very good, and the wine was also very good. This must be very expensive wine. I am very happy today, sir.”
Victor hale
“Are you drunk, Jay? Come on, let’s go home. I will drop you off.”
Jay park
"I’m not drunk, sir… I just feel a little light today."
Victor looked at him for a moment, silent and unreadable as always. The streetlights passed over them as the car moved slowly through the night road.
Victor hale
Light… or careless?”
Jay park
"No, sir… I just mean I feel happy today."
Victor didn’t respond immediately, but his grip on the steering wheel loosened slightly.
“Good,” he finally said in a low voice. “You should feel that sometimes.”
And for the first time that night, the silence between them didn’t feel distant… it felt almost comfortable
Victor hale
“Jay, we’ve reached your house. Should I drop you to your room?”
Jay stood just outside the car, but he didn’t move away immediately.
The night air was quiet. The streetlights flickered softly above them.
Victor was still inside the car, hand resting on the steering wheel—but he wasn’t leaving either.
Jay park
“If you’re saying you’ll drop me off, sir, then let’s go.”
Victor looked up at him.
The distance between them felt smaller than before. Too small.
For a brief moment, everything else disappeared—the road, the lights, the world outside.
Just them.
Victor hale
“Okay, let’s go. I’ll help you go up to your room.”
“Victor held Jay’s hand and brought him home. Jay still looked quite intoxicated.”
Victor hale
“Then you rest, Jay. I’m going home.”
“Jay looked at Victor with affectionate eyes and said, ‘Won’t you stay here today? I want to spend more time with you.’”
“Victor looked at Jay in surprise.”
Before Victor could say anything, Jay kissed him.
Victor hale
“Jay, what are you doing? I am your boss. Behave yourself.”
Jay park
“Boss, I have fallen in love with you. Before I even realized it, I started feeling something special for you.”
Victor hale
“You are intoxicated right now, Jay. Now take rest. We will talk at the office tomorrow.”
