In 1200 BC, an island near Korea mysteriously disappeared through a massive dark portal. The island was once known as one of the most prosperous lands of its time, with a population of nearly 3.7 million people. It was rich in culture.
Then, one night, everything vanished.
The sky turned black as a gigantic portal appeared above the island. Witnesses from distant lands claimed that the ocean trembled violently while the moon itself seemed to disappear behind the darkness. The portal swallowed the entire island along with every person living on it.
Not even ruins remained.
After that incident, that island became nothing more than a myth. Some believed the island had sunk into the sea, while others claimed the gods had erased it from existence.
But the truth remained unknown.
---
Five hundred and eighty years later, a fisherman named Deji sailed across the sea from Japan toward the region Kayoki Island .
It was around 5:46 a.m.
The sea was calm, and the orange glow of sunrise slowly spread across the horizon.
“We’re getting close to Kayoki,” Deji said to his mate while adjusting the ropes on the boat. “Get your stuff ready, man.”
His companion nodded silently while sorting the fishing equipment.
As the boat drifted closer, Deji noticed someone standing near the shore in the distance. It was one of their friends waiting on the beach, waving a green cloth in the air to guide them safely.
Deji smiled slightly and turned around to grab the fish they had caught earlier.
The bright sunlight reflected strongly off the water. He instinctively shut his eyes because of the sudden glare.
A few seconds later, he turned back toward the shore.
His body froze.
The smile disappeared from his face.
The island…
was gone.
Only the endless sea remained before him.
For several seconds, Deji could not breathe. His hands trembled violently as fear slowly consumed his body.
“T-The… the island is missing!” he screamed in horror.
The boat rocked violently as his mate rushed toward him.
“What are you talking about?!”
But when the man looked ahead, his expression also turned pale.
Kayoki Island had disappeared.

Year 2089 – Future Japan
The world had changed drastically.
Technology had advanced beyond imagination, but humanity remained trapped in endless conflict. Nations relied on artificial intelligence, robotic soldiers, and automated medical systems to survive modern warfare.
Japan was currently at war with the United States.
Cities burned daily. Entire districts disappeared overnight under missile attacks. Human lives had become statistics displayed on digital screens.
Eryx worked as a battlefield sub-doctor.
Unlike the advanced robotic surgeons used by the military, Eryx treated wounded civilians and soldiers directly on the field. He had witnessed countless deaths over the years, yet he continued moving forward for only one reason:
His daughter, Rin.
Rin was a cheerful little girl studying in kindergarten. She had already lost her mother years ago during a missile strike.
Since then, Nun Mary had helped take care of her whenever Eryx was away. Mary was more than just a caretaker. Long ago, she had helped Eryx continue his education when he had no money or support.
To Eryx, she was like his family.
---
The battlefield was pure chaos.
Explosions shook the earth continuously while smoke covered the sky like dark clouds. Destroyed military drones littered the streets alongside burning vehicles and shattered buildings.
Missiles rained endlessly from above.
Screams echoed everywhere.
Eryx ran across the ruins carrying emergency medical supplies on his back. Nearby, robotic medics operated on injured soldiers with mechanical precision.
Suddenly, he heard a child crying.
“Help! Somebody help me!”
Without hesitation, Eryx rushed toward the voice.
A little girl was trapped beneath broken concrete and twisted metal. Tears streamed down her face as flames spread dangerously around her.
“It’s okay,” Eryx said calmly while lifting the debris. “I’ve got you.”
The child wrapped her arms around him tightly as he carried her away from the collapsing area.
But before they could escape—
A missile descended from the sky.
BOOM!!
The explosion shattered the ground beneath them.
Eryx was thrown backward violently through the air. The child slipped from his arms as debris scattered everywhere.
His head slammed against broken glass.
Pain exploded through his skull.
As his consciousness faded, Eryx stared at unknown shattered mirror multi dimensional world.
For a brief moment, the cracks inside the mirror world looked strange… unnatural.
Like layers of dimensions breaking apart.
The fractured surface resembled a gateway connecting multiple countless dimensions overlapping each other. It was as if another reality existed behind the broken glass world.
The mirror pulsed strangely for a moment.
Then darkness swallowed him completely.
---
Several hours later, Eryx slowly regained consciousness inside a military hospital.
Machines beeped softly around him while white lights illuminated the room.
A doctor stood nearby checking digital reports.
Eryx immediately tried to sit up.
“The girl…” he whispered weakly. “Is she okay?”
The doctor remained silent for a moment before lowering his head.
“I’m sorry.”
Eryx clenched his fists tightly.
His teeth ground together in frustration and pain, but he said nothing further. Death had become common in this world, yet every loss still wounded him deeply.
The doctor looked back at the medical screen in disbelief.
“You’re extremely lucky,” he said. “That explosion should have killed you instantly.”
He paused briefly.
“You don’t have any serious physical injuries. Honestly… it’s almost miraculous.”
Eryx looked away silently.
“However,” the doctor continued, “your brain experienced severe trauma. You need proper rest before returning to the battlefield.”
---
A few days later, Eryx traveled to Tokyo to spend time with Rin.
The city looked futuristic and beautiful on the surface. Neon lights covered giant skyscrapers while flying transport drones moved across the sky. But hidden beneath that beauty was fear.
Every citizen knew war could reach them at any moment.
Eryx arrived at Rin’s kindergarten during the evening.
The moment Rin saw him through the gate, her eyes filled with tears.
“Daddy!”
She ran toward him immediately and hugged him tightly.
Eryx smiled softly while lifting her into his arms.
“I missed you too.”
That evening, they went to a hotel restaurant together. Rin happily talked about her school friends while eating dinner.
For the first time in weeks, Eryx felt genuine peace.
After dinner, he handed her a small wrapped gift.
“Happy Birthday, Rin.”
Rin blinked in confusion.
“But Daddy… my birthday is next week.”
Eryx froze.
Rin slowly lowered her eyes.
“Then that means you’re leaving again…”
Eryx forced a painful smile.
“I have to go back the day after tomorrow.”
Rin quietly looked outside the window without speaking further.
---
Later that night, Rin fell asleep inside the car while returning home.
Eryx carefully carried her upstairs and tucked her into bed.
Afterward, he stepped outside onto the balcony and called Mary.
“Yeah… she’s staying with me tonight.”
He listened quietly for several moments before smiling faintly.
“Thank you, Mary.”
The city lights flickered endlessly in the distance.
For some reason, Eryx suddenly remembered the shattered mirror from the battlefield.
Those strange cracks still haunted his mind.
---
The next morning, the television news echoed throughout the apartment.
“Today marks 309 years since the mysterious disappearance of Kayoki Island.”
Eryx stood in the kitchen attempting to cook breakfast.
Unfortunately, he completely burned the omelet.
Rin stared at the pan with disappointment.
“Daddy… you’re terrible at cooking.”
Eryx laughed awkwardly.
Rin pushed him aside and skillfully prepared another omelet herself.
Eryx watched her proudly.
“She’s smart enough to survive this world,” he thought. “She’s strong.”
Soon they rushed outside because they were late for kindergarten.
After dropping Rin off, Eryx met his old friend Park for lunch.
The streets were crowded as usual, but military drones constantly patrolled the skies above Tokyo.
Nobody truly felt safe anymore.
---
That evening, Eryx returned to pick Rin up from kindergarten.
Traffic filled the streets while holographic advertisements glowed brightly across the city.
Suddenly—
The sky distorted violently.
A massive dark portal opened in the center of the road.
Cars stopped instantly.
People screamed and backed away in fear.
Black energy spread across the street like smoke.
Then someone stepped out of the portal.
A man with crimson-red hair.
His presence alone felt terrifying.
The air itself became heavy.
The mysterious stranger slowly placed his hand against his neck and smiled coldly.
“I finally found her.”
Before anyone could react, flames exploded across the street.
Buildings caught fire instantly.
Vehicles melted under the intense heat.
People ran in panic while smoke consumed the road.
One injured man crawled desperately across the ground.
“Help… please help me!”
The red-haired man calmly walked toward him.
He crouched beside the trembling wounded person and stared directly into his terrified eyes.
He placed his foot in the mouth of wounded person.
“I hate fearful people and loud peoples” he said quietly.
Flames gathered around the red hair person’s hand
“My name is Rexen.”
His cold smile widened.
“Remember the name of your reaper.”
