We Pretended to Forget
Episode 1 — The Last Normal Day
Rain softly tapped against the classroom windows while students laughed around them.
Alya sat beside the window, drawing tiny stars on the corner of her notebook. Across from her, Noah kept stealing glances at her while pretending to listen to the teacher.
Their friendship was simple.
Comfortable and safe....
Or at least… that’s what they thought.
noah
You left your umbrella again 😭
noah
Good thing you have me.
alya
You say that like you’re permanent.
That afternoon, they walked home together under one umbrella.
The streets smelled like rain and old memories.
Alya looked at him quietly.
alya
Do you think people can stay together forever?
noah
If they really want to
Neither of them knew life was already preparing to separate them.
Alya heard shouting downstairs
Her father’s voice was louder than she had ever heard before.
alya father
You are NOT allowed to see that boy again!
Slowly, she walked downstairs.
Her mother looked away in silence while her father held old papers in his hands.
alya father
They ruined this family years ago, (he said angrily). And now their son wants to come near my daughter
alya
What are you talking about......?
alya father
His father betrayed me
The room suddenly felt colder
alya father
You will stop talking to him
alya father
Starting today
noah
Your dad called my parents
noah
He said we can’t see each other anymore.
noah
Tell me this is temporary.
Alya stared at the screen, tears slowly falling onto her hands.
Outside her room, her father stood silently near the door.
noah
then let's fight for it
alya
You don’t understand…
noah
Then explain it to me.
alya
My father looked at me like I betrayed him.
alya
Maybe we were never supposed to happen.
Noah read the message again.
And again.
As if reading it enough times would make it hurt less.
That night, neither of them slept.
One cried while hugging her pillow quietly so nobody would hear.
The other stared at old messages until sunrise, realizing that sometimes love doesn’t end because feelings disappear…
Sometimes it ends because the world refuses to let it exist.
hiii reading I know it's short but I hope u enjoy reading it, just correct me with my grammar thank you
Episode 2 — Forced Goodbye
No calls.
No messages.
No walking home together.
At school, Alya and Noah acted like strangers.
The same two people who once shared snacks, secrets, and dreams… now couldn’t even look at each other for too long.
And somehow… that hurt more than fighting.
During lunch break, Alya sat alone under the stairs.
unknown
I miss my best friend
Tears instantly filled her eyes.
She already knew it was him.
noah
I tried.
I really tried.
alya
If my father finds out—
noah
Why are parents allowed to destroy people like this?
Because honestly.....she was asking herself the same question
That evening, Noah waited outside the school gate under the rain.
Just once.
He wanted to see her properly again.
Like someone trying not to fall apart
She slowly walked towards him
He laughed softly, painfully
noah
You still say my name the same way
For a moment, they simply stood there while rain poured around them.
Then Noah carefully held out something in his hand.
The friendship bracelet you gave me in Grade 8, he whispered.
noah
I kept it the whole time.
Alya covered her mouth, crying harder.
alya
I can’t do this anymore…
Because neither could he.
But they had no choice.
Her father stormed toward them with anger burning in his eyes.
Alya immediately stepped back from Noah.
But her father grabbed her wrist.
alya father
You embarrass this family for HIM?!
noah
Please don’t hurt her.
alya father
Stay away from my daughter!
Alya looked at Noah helplessly while being dragged away.
And the last thing she saw…
Was Noah standing alone in the rain.
Still holding the bracelet.
noah
Maybe loving you was the happiest and worst thing that ever happened to me.
