The Night She Found Him
Rain poured heavily across the city, making the streets glow under neon lights.
Hannah tightened her hoodie and hurried home quietly, trying not to get completely soaked.
She hated walking alone at night.
Especially in this weather.
Thunder echoed loudly, making her flinch a little.
Hannah
“I should’ve brought an umbrella…”
As she turned into a quieter street, she suddenly heard something fall nearby.
A loud crash.
Hannah stopped walking immediately.
Her heartbeat quickened.
Slowly, she looked toward the dark alley beside her.
At first—
Nothing.
Then she noticed someone sitting against the wall.
A boy.
Dressed completely in black.
Blood stained his shirt.
Hannah’s eyes widened in panic.
The stranger slowly looked up.
Sharp dark eyes met hers instantly.
Dangerous.
Cold.
The kind of face that made people walk away immediately.
Zavier
“Don’t come closer.”
His voice was low and calm despite the blood running down his arm.
But Hannah couldn’t move.
He looked hurt.
Really hurt.
Hannah nervously stepped closer anyway.
Hannah
“Y-You’re bleeding…”
Zavier let out a tired breath.
Hannah crouched down carefully in front of him.
Even up close, he looked terrifying.
There was blood on his hands.
A cut near his lip.
And something about him felt… dangerous.
Like trouble followed him everywhere.
Still—
Hannah slowly took out tissues from her bag with shaky hands.
Hannah
“You should go to a hospital…”
Zavier looked at her quietly.
That definitely wasn’t a normal answer.
Before Hannah could ask more—
Voices suddenly echoed nearby.
unknown 1
“Search the area!”
unknown 1
“He couldn’t have gone far!”
Zavier’s expression darkened instantly.
In one second, he grabbed Hannah’s wrist and pulled her closer to the wall beside him.
Hannah
“W-What are you doing?!”
Zavier covered her mouth gently.
Footsteps passed near the alley.
Hannah’s heart pounded nervously.
The men sounded close.
Very close.
One of them stopped near the alley entrance.
Hannah froze.
But after a few seconds, another voice called out.
The footsteps slowly disappeared again.
Silence.
Zavier finally moved his hand away from her mouth.
Hannah immediately looked down shyly.
Way too close.
She could even smell smoke and rain on him.
Zavier noticed how nervous she looked and smirked faintly.
Zavier
“You scare easily.”
Hannah
“T-That’s because random men don’t usually drag me into dark alleys…”
Zavier actually laughed softly.
It surprised both of them.
Then suddenly—
Zavier winced in pain.
Hannah looked at the blood on his side again.
Her expression softened immediately
Zavier looked at her for a moment.
Zavier
“Why are you helping me?”
Hannah hesitated quietly.
Then answered honestly.
Hannah
“…Because nobody else is.”
Stay Quiet
Rain continued pouring outside while Hannah carefully helped Zavier walk through the empty streets.
He was taller than her.
Much taller.
And even injured, he still felt intimidating.
Hannah struggled slightly supporting him.
Hannah
“Y-You’re heavier than you look…”
Zavier glanced down at her.
Hannah quickly looked nervous.
A faint smirk appeared on his face.
Zavier
“You apologize a lot.”
Hannah looked away quietly.
After a few more minutes, they finally reached her apartment building.
Zavier looked up at it silently.
Small.
Quiet.
Normal.
Very different from his world.
Hannah nervously unlocked the door.
The second Zavier stepped inside, his eyes immediately scanned everything automatically.
Windows.
Exits.
Locks.
Hannah
(…Why does he act like someone’s always trying to kill him?)
Hannah carefully helped him sit on the couch.
Zavier raised an eyebrow.
Hannah ignored him and quickly grabbed her small first-aid kit.
When she returned, Zavier was already removing his blood-stained jacket slowly.
Hannah instantly looked away.
Zavier noticed immediately.
And smirked.
Hannah’s face turned pink instantly.
Hannah
“S-Stop saying weird things!”
Zavier leaned back against the couch lazily.
Zavier
“You get flustered easily.”
Hannah quietly sat beside him and started cleaning the wound carefully with shaky hands.
The second disinfectant touched his skin—
Zavier grabbed her wrist.
Hannah froze.
Their faces were suddenly very close.
Zavier stared at her silently for a second.
Hannah
“…That’s why it’s called disinfectant.”
For the first time—
He laughed softly.
A real laugh.
Hannah looked surprised.
…He laughs?
Both of them froze.
Zavier’s expression changed instantly.
Cold.
Dangerous.
In one second, he pulled Hannah closer to him protectively.
Hannah
“W-What are you doing?!”
Zavier placed one finger against her lips softly.
