TRAPPED Between Dark Memories and Beautiful Present

The beginning.

🌸 Hey there, lovies! 🌸

I'm LOV,

And I'm so excited and a little nervous to finally share my stories with the world.

Writing has always been my little escape, and now I want to invite YOU into the worlds I've been building in my head and heart.

Honestly, I never intend to write, but somehow it all started. It was my birthday back then, I had that sudden urge to publish a book that was supposed to be a movie.

Yeah, TRAPPED was actually supposed to be a anime or movie I'd planned on doing someday in future.

I don't know if you're reading this or you've already moved on to the next chapter.

But I'd like to say, please don't ignore my words. I may sound over dramatic but being ignored is just what ever happened to me since childhood.

And my only peace, my work. I can never see it being ignored.

So do vote, or maybe just comment anything random. Just to let me know you're here.

You'll find drama, romance, betrayal, healing, strong yet soft female leads, and twists that (hopefully!) keep you guessing.

Whether you're here by chance or curiosity

^^^—thank YOU for being here.^^^

^^^Your support means everything to me.^^^

Feel free to comment, message, or just vibe quietly in polls—I see you, and I appreciate you.

Let's go on this storytelling journey together. 💬✨

^^^With love,^^^

CHERISHED

"Don't die!" That echoed in my head, loud enough to shook me.

I jumped without hesitation, not that I would hesitate.

Small bubbles formed around me as I forced my eyes open beneath the freezing water. I shook my head hard, fighting the pressure closing around my skull.

I pushed myself deeper into the river, just enough to catch sight of her.

It didn't take long.

Thankfully, the current hadn't dragged her too far yet.

My heartbeat thundered violently inside my chest. The kind of panic I hadn't felt since I was ten years old.

Raw. Loud. Uncontrollable.

I grabbed her arm instantly and pulled her toward me, forcing my body upward through the water before the river could make her swallow any more of it.

The moment our heads broke through the surface, she coughed weakly against my shoulder.

Relief hit me so hard it almost made my limbs give out.

"Breathe," I gasped, tightening my grip around her as the current pushed against us. "Just breathe."

The river fought every movement. Water crashed against my chest, dragging at our bodies like it wanted to pull us back under.

I kicked harder.

One arm around her waist, the other cutting through the water.

When my feet finally touched something beneath us, my lungs were burning.

I stumbled forward, half dragging, half carrying her toward the ground.

The second we reached land, I dropped to my knees with her still in my arms.

"Hey." My wet hand pushed the hair sticking to her face aside. "Look at me."

Her eyes stayed shut, for one horrifying second, the world went silent. Then the crushing fear clawing its way up my throat.

"Fuck." My voice broke. "Women."

I quickly turned her slightly, pressing a trembling hand against her back as water spilled from her mouth between rough coughs.

Air finally rushed back into my lungs with hers. She sucked in a shaky breath, body trembling violently against me.

I closed my eyes for a second. Just one second. Then I pulled her against my chest so tightly it bordered on painful.

Soon, the distant sound of an ambulance pierced through the chaos.

Her head was still bleeding, I didn't waste a second. My hands grabbed my shirt and tore it open, not bothering with the buttons.

The fabric ripped harshly beneath my fingers.

Ignoring the freezing water dripping from us both, I folded the cloth and wrapped it carefully around her head, pressing just enough to slow the bleeding.

My hands were shaking, not from the cold. From the sight of blood staining the torn fabric darker with every passing second.

I never fucking panicked seeing blood.

"Stay awake," I muttered, crouched beside her on the muddy land. "Come on... stay with me."

The ambulance siren grew louder. Around us, voices blurred together. Then came the footsteps, people panicked.

Someone shouting directions, but none of it mattered. My focus stayed on her.

The weak rise and fall of her chest had my brain storming, the sight blood pained me physically. But I was making sure she kept breathing.

Because right now, nothing else existed.

My soaked clothes slowly dump from blood, the freezing air biting against my skin.

I need to keep her alive.

That thought unsettled me more than the river ever could.

"She woke up!" Someone yelled, as I opened my eyes.

The sound of beeping filled my ears, then when I blinked.

God.

Things were clear now. I was able to see, finally!

"Are you okay?" Someone asked, my head instantly turned to her.

It was when I realised two things, first, I couldn't actually see clearly. Second, I could see her.

Her worried face, the panic that made her hands trumble as they hovered over mine.

I cleared my throat, trying to speak. Nothing came out, then after some inaudible words.

"What are you doing here nani?" (Grandma?) That came out suddenly, I mummered the same thing twice.

My voice rough, yet throat pained. But why was she here?

Wasn't she?—She?—Damn I don't even remember!

I glanced up again, observing as they gazed each other, then turned back to me.

For no reason, my heart was beating fast. My body threatened to fall each passing second.

What happened?

What actually happened to me?

Then the door swing open, a tall man stepped inside. White coat, stethoscope around his neck, and a broad in his hands.

Doctor.

Then behind him another person entered.

I kept my eyes on him, he saw it. Then went towards the man standing in corner.

Blur, but a man.

Doctor leaned closer to him, I blinked twice. Then tried to force my focus to see clearly.

Non worked.

The man nodded before following the doctor, the door closed behind him. They both left me with suspense.

I dragged my eyes away from the exit, to the boy who has been staring at me. The kid was looking at me like I grew two heads.

A wave of goosebumps ran through my body, feeling weird. I guestured him to come closer with my hand.

And to my surprise, he stepped closer without hesitation. Then came his soft voice.

"Are you hurt?" A low whisper.

"No, I'm not." I replied, trying to pull a smile despite the skin that bit me from inside.

"Dadi said you had an accident." he added softly, his eyes for searching something on my face I didn't knew existed.

"Dadi?" I raised a brow, then glanced at everyone around.

Am I dadi now? Or she is?

They stayed still looking back at me then she (nani/Grandma) stood up and whispered something in another lady's ear.

Her steps careful, eyes filled with something I didn't recognise. Her lips moved in a inaudible sync.

Then she came back and sat infront of me, on the bed beside my knees.

"The doctor said you've lost your memory temporary," then lower. "it's okay to be confused for a while."

The statement was soft, but the way she looked at me. It felt weird for no actual reason.

I nodded.

She then, held out her hand toward the lady next to her. "She's your bhabhi (sister in law) Radha." The lady waved, looking at me with a soft smile.

But the distance didn't let me actually see her.

So I just found out I have a brother?

Her hand shifted toward the middle aged woman.

"She's your mother and my daughter." the lady—no. My mother smiled at me.

I stared into her eyes, then slowly, as if being careful. She stepped closer, I shifted slightly. But then surprise hit me when she took my hand into her own.

Her smile warm, but eyes held back tears. Something that she wasn't able to hide.

That made my heart felt something sharp, a feeling close to pain in my chest.

"You scared me." she breathed, a soft snob.

I didn't know what to do, for a second I just kept her hand, then. "I-I'm fine mom, Don't worry." I tried.

But then into the quite moment, the door opened with a soft click. Someone stepped inside, my eyes turned toward the door.

"You have to rest well these days." he stated, like giving an order I was supposed to obey.

His voice cold, so cold that it sent shivers into my veins. "Huh?" I interrupted, or maybe tried to.

"You'll have a surgery soon, it is important for your health so do not eat anything spicy." he continued.

He just ignored me??

"Avoid eating any junk food," he listed, then added. "you'll have to stay in hospital for some more days." His voice annoying.

Worth a hard slap across his face.

Then suddenly, sharper. "YOU SHOULDN'T INTERRUPT SOMEONE WHEN THEY'RE TALKING." his tone turned into something heated.

Blood ran up to my head, increasing heat. I haven't even said anything!

"YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO TEACH ME." I replied, folding my arms over my chest.

I know my ego stand taller than the highest building in the world, but who gives a fu k.

"Sit here since you're hurt, after the surgery I'll take you home." He added, not even acknowledging my words.

Am I allowed to send him to hell?

"WHO THE HELL IS HE?" The voice echoed in my head, wanting justice against his rudeness.

"Don't be angry, Vaidhai." Nani intrrupted.

I turned to face her warmth, ignoring the cold that man had in his eyes.

"Who is he?" I asked, not even trying to hide my disgust.

"He's your elder brother." She replied. I paused, stared at him for a second.

Her words had me. kill me but don't tell me I've to see this face everyday!

"ELDER BROTHER?" That came out rougher, with a sharp pain spreading into my throat.

I breathed softer, forcing myself to calm then in a low whisper. "but I'm the eldest daughter."

That's what came into my mind.

"Yeah you are, but he's your cousin." She replied, her hands stroking my shoulder as if it could calm me.

It did.

"Ohh" that left without permission, earning the soft sound of her chuckle. Mom let out a laugh too, tears from earlier gone.

It is strange for me to feel something so weird?

"You have four cousins." she said, her words falling on me like bombs.

"What!?" I shouted, my head spinned right after that.

having ice around me was worst nightmare coming true. "they're all elders?" I panicked.

"No." she chuckled, then after a tiny pause. "two elders and two younger cousin brothers, but all older then you." she continued, isn't it still elder?

"No sister at all?" I asked, disappointed. I'm a girl's girl.

"Well you have a sister." she replied, a strange happiness turned me to look around for something even I don't know.

"Really?" I asked, amazed. A sister meant same point of view.

"Yeah you do." she turned to mom, then back to me.

"We live together?" I asked.

"Yeah we do."

"Hmm.....ok then." Then I narrowed my eyes. "But am I going to see him everyday?"

She huffed. "Yeah....and not only see you'll have to do what he'll say." her words were going to kill me today.

"A—joke??" I asked, awkwardly.

"No, for real." she waved her hand, I'm done for.

But I didn't feel annoyed.

Or maybe the thought that I wasn't going to lose against anyone.
