Life is like a game, where you don’t know the storyline. I always thought “Whatever happens, happens. I can always just die”. Furthermore, I know, that’s very depressing, but that’s just how I am. My game is just very boring and simple, or so I thought until I came here. I met some of the most complicated, annoying but fun people, I don’t know if I love them yet, but I don’t hate them. I for sure find them frustrating, that’s why I said ‘annoying’. Likewise, I am a very complicated person myself. Oh, I think I’ve only been talking about myself… This place is a dormitory that I was assigned to when I joined my Uni, and the people I talked about are my roommates.

I love-hate my college, because what if I didn’t come here and I would have never met these people. And shit I will never get a good job because wth is this college, is what I want to say but, I am just learning about magic because I am curious about this whole new thing.

I was supposed to be ‘ordinary’ but when I got in here it was all so dreamy. This world suddenly got gifted 12 years ago and people were granted ‘powers’. I was one of those people, but I was only 7 years old, so my parents were against it. When I turned 18 my parents were both very excited to send me to a GREAT magic school, but I wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. I chose a uni which was very ordinary, but I would be out of my hometown if I chose it, so I did. My parents were disappointed, well my father was, and my mother was looking at the bright side of the situation. Well, I was very happy… I finally got to leave!

Now, let’s talk about the university. This place is for children who got gifted at a young age to learn magic. I have only learned about my sub powers which are venom, shadow control and hypnosis. Now, I know what you’re thinking ‘if you can just hypnotize people, why not just get everything you want using that.’ That’s a bit illegal, and also not possible because people here wear amulets to avoid getting hypnotized, so unless they want to hypnotize homeless and broke people (which is morally questionable if you want to do that) I can’t use it.

Did I ever introduce myself? So rude of me!

I am Veronica Harper, 19 years old. My main element is Fire, and my sub powers are venom, shadow control and hypnosis. I am a very sweet, kind and funny person (I am not good at introductions, so please judge me based on my story.)

Well right now, none of that matters because I am running late for my class “Hurry Sofia!! Otherwise, the demon is going to grill us alive!” I almost yelled at Sofia, my roommate. “Go ahead, I will come later.” She replied to me. I signalled Samantha, my other roommate to leave. So, we left for class leaving Sofia to herself to get ready.

We live on the fourth floor of this dormitory without an elevator! So, running down the stairs is the only option for us, which makes us tired AND more late. By the time we reached class, the prof was waiting at the door, glaring at everyone who was late.

Standing outside the class is a punishment supposed to be for middle school students not us. But maybe the prof doesn’t know that, therefore she thinks we hate it. Honestly, I would rather spend time standing here looking out win- “Why are you standing here?” Sofia is finally here. “Punishment” Samantha replied. “Great.” She then grinned, which means she has a bad idea (according to her it’s a good idea). “Let’s go to the park!” Sofia exclaimed making Samantha smile… meaning we are going to the park.

This place is the most calming place anyone can be, The park. Sofia is swinging like a kid, so am I. Samantha is on her phone, maybe talking to her parents. “Do you think we need a villain as well?” I asked, “Umm… I like my peaceful life.” Sofia answered. “It would be fun, we will finally get to use our power for good.” I replied. “You want to be called a hero?” Samantha walked to us. “I mean, this is very boring. We aren’t even allowed to go to the war-zone.” I argued. “I don’t want to die.” Sofia said, Samantha nodded in agreement.

It’s just so not fair, I mean, I do love my peaceful life BUT a little adventure where I could just use my magic freely and save people like the ones in webtoons.

Did I tell you about the war-zones? That’s the place where war is always going on, meaning good vs bad. Bad are the ‘monsters’? That’s what they’re called. The monsters are the people who wanted to experiment on the gifted people because they didn’t get the gift or the gifted people who want more than what they have. Good are the people with the gift and know how to use their gift. Unlike us students they know how to control their magic and use it for the people.
