The silence that hung between Jinho and Shiro Suzuki was heavy, thick with the weight of memories they had carried over from their past lives. They sat in the dimly lit study, the air still and quiet, as if the very room held its breath, waiting for their words.

Shiro was the first to break the silence, his voice low and laced with a mixture of regret and determination. "Brother, do you really think it’s too late? To make things right with our little sister? After everything that happened… after we failed her so miserably in the last life."

Jinho let out a long, weary sigh, running a hand through his hair. The image of Harumi—their sweet, innocent sister—being hurt, betrayed, and cast aside by the very people who were supposed to protect her, flashed vividly in his mind. The pain of those memories was still raw, even though they had been given a second chance.

"No, Shiro," Jinho said firmly, his eyes hardening with resolve. "It is not too late. Far from it. The apocalypse hasn’t even begun yet. We have time—time to protect her, time to stand by her side, and time to make sure that bitch Alicia never gets the chance to hurt her again."

His voice dropped to a growl as he spoke Alicia’s name. The anger burned inside him, hot and fierce. "I still can’t believe I was so blind. So easily fooled by her fake tears and sweet words. I let her into our home, I trusted her, and in return, she destroyed everything. She turned us against Harumi, she poisoned Kaizo’s mind, and she left our sister alone to suffer in the end."

Shiro nodded grimly, his expression mirroring his brother’s rage. "We were all fools, brother. All of us. But not this time. This time, we see her for what she really is—a snake in sheep’s clothing. And we will not let her win."

Meanwhile, back in her own room, Harumi stood by the window, gazing out at the peaceful world outside. It was hard to believe that in just a few short months, this tranquility would be shattered, replaced by chaos, fear, and the endless struggle for survival.

"Well," she murmured to herself, a small smile playing on her lips. "Looks like the plot is already twisting in ways I didn’t expect. My brothers are reborn… Kaizo is reborn… and even the villain, Demetrius, seems to have his own agenda."

She shook her head, amused despite herself. "What a strange world this has become. Everyone is trying to fix their past mistakes, everyone is trying to protect me… and here I am, just trying to stockpile enough supplies to survive the end of the world."

"Master," Celestia’s voice chimed in her mind, cheerful and efficient. "Shall I begin organizing the supplies you have collected? And would you like me to send the clone out to continue gathering resources while you rest or train?"

"Yes, please do, Celes," Harumi replied gratefully. "You really are a lifesaver. At a time like this, having you by my side makes everything so much easier."

"It is my pleasure, Master," the system replied. "Now, about the quest you accepted… would you like to attempt it now, or wait until you are fully prepared?"

Harumi considered this for a moment. The quest was simple enough on paper—kill mutated beasts and collect herbs—but she knew that even early-stage mutants could be dangerous. However, she also knew that training and gaining experience was crucial if she wanted to be strong enough to protect herself and those she cared about.

"Let’s wait a little while longer," she decided. "I want to make sure I am completely familiar with my new abilities first. Especially the healing magic. If I can heal others as well as myself, that will be an invaluable skill once everything goes wrong."

"Understood, Master," Celestia said. "In the meantime, I will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated on any changes."

Downstairs, the front door opened, and Demetrius Romano stepped inside. The butler greeted him respectfully, but the villain paid him no mind. His eyes scanned the room, searching for one person and one person only.

"Where is she?" he asked, his voice deep and commanding.

"Lady Harumi has retired to her chambers, Sir," the butler replied.

Demetrius nodded, a faint smile touching his lips. "Bunny…" he whispered softly, the name feeling natural on his tongue. "This time, I will not let anything happen to you. I will protect you from everyone—from your brothers, from that so-called lover of yours, from the monsters outside… and from yourself, if necessary."

He had spent his whole life in darkness, cold and alone. But then he had met her—the original Harumi—and she had been like a ray of sunshine in his bleak world. "Probably the villain, Master," Celestia said matter-of-factly. "He is quite obsessed with you, you know. In the past timeline, he sacrificed everything to keep you alive."

Harumi rolled her eyes. "Great. Just what I need. Another person with a hero complex. Can’t a girl just prepare for the apocalypse in peace?"

She shook her head, deciding not to worry about it for now. There were more important things to focus on.

"Right," she said, clapping her hands together. "First things first. Let’s master these elements. If I can control fire, water, earth, wind, light, darkness, lightning, and nature… and all their sub-elements… then nothing will be able to stop me."

She closed her eyes, reaching deep inside herself, feeling the immense power that lay dormant within her. It was like a vast ocean, waiting to be called forth.

"Let’s begin," she whispered.

And so, in the quiet of her room, Harumi Suzuki began to train. She practiced shaping water into ice and snow, calling forth flames that burned hotter than magma, moving earth and stone with a mere thought, and summoning winds that could level buildings. "Good," Harumi said, grabbing her jacket. "Let’s go."

She stepped out of her room and headed downstairs. As she walked through the hallway, she passed by the study. The door was slightly ajar, and she could hear the voices of her brothers inside. Curiosity got the better of her, and she paused, listening.

"...it’s still far too early before the apocalypse started..." Jinho was saying, his voice heavy with regret. "...but I can’t believe I got deceived by that bitch Alicia and to the fact she even broke Harumi’s relationship with Kaizo back then..."

Harumi’s heart gave a little squeeze. So they remembered. They really remembered everything. The pain, the betrayal, the mistakes they had made. And they were blaming themselves for it.

A soft smile touched her lips. "Silly brothers," she whispered. "You don’t need to blame yourselves. This time, things will be different."

She turned and walked away, heading for the front door. She would talk to them later. Right now, she had work to do.

The area Celestia had led her to was a dense forest on the outskirts of the city. It was quiet, peaceful even, but Harumi could feel it—the faint, wrong energy that signaled mutation.

"Alright," she said, rolling up her sleeves. "Let’s see what we’re dealing with."

"Master," Celestia warned. "Be careful. Even low-level peak beasts are stronger than normal animals. And the fourth-level ones… they are quite dangerous."

"I know, I know," Harumi replied confidently. "But don’t forget who you’re talking to. I’m practically a goddess now, remember?"

She closed her eyes, sensing her surroundings. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open. "There."

From the bushes, a large wolf-like creature emerged. Its fur was dark and matted, its eyes glowed with a feral red light, and sharp claws extended from its paws. It was a mutated beast—low level, peak stage.

"First one," Harumi murmured.

She didn’t even move. She simply raised her hand, and a spear of solid ice materialized out of thin air. With a flick of her wrist, she sent it flying. It struck the beast straight through the heart, freezing it solid in an instant.

Thud.

The creature fell, motionless.

"Well," Harumi said, blinking. "That was… easier than expected."

"Of course, Master!" Celestia cheered. "Your strength is unmeasurable! These little creatures are nothing compared to you!"

Harumi laughed, feeling a surge of confidence. "Alright then. Let’s find the rest."

For the next hour, she moved through the forest like a ghost. Wherever she went, mutants fell before her. Ice spikes, fireballs, lightning strikes—she used her powers with effortless grace, cutting through them like hot knife through butter.

Before she knew it, the first part of the quest was complete. Ten low-level peak beasts killed.

"Now for the harder part," she said. "Forty fourth-level peak mutants."

She ventured deeper into the forest, where the energy was stronger, the air thicker. The creatures here were larger, faster, more dangerous. But to Harumi, they were still just targets.

She fought with a style that was both beautiful and deadly. She danced through their attacks, weaving wind and shadows to evade them, then struck back with overwhelming force. She summoned vines to bind them, earthquakes to knock them off balance, and beams of pure light to incinerate them.

One by one, they fell.

And as she fought, she collected the mutated herbs that grew nearby—strange, glowing plants that pulsed with energy. She stored them away in her space, knowing they would be useful for potions and healing later.

Back at the mansion, Jinho and Shiro had finally left the study. They were walking through the halls when they noticed Harumi’s absence.

"Where did Harumi go?" Shiro asked, frowning.

"I don’t know," Jinho replied, checking his phone. "She didn’t say anything. But knowing her… she’s probably up to something."

Suddenly, Shiro stopped. He closed his eyes, concentrating. "Wait… I can feel it. Powerful energy signatures coming from the forest nearby. And… it feels familiar."

Jinho’s eyes widened. "Is that…?"

"It’s Harumi," Shiro said, awe in his voice. "She’s fighting. And she’s using magic."

They exchanged a look, and without a word, they both turned and ran towards the entrance. They had to see this. They had to make sure she was safe.

Meanwhile, Harumi stood amidst a small clearing. Around her lay the bodies of the last few mutants. The quest was complete.

"Phew," she said, wiping a small bead of sweat from her forehead. "That was actually kind of fun."

"Quest completed!" Celestia announced. "Rewards are being calculated… You have gained experience points, system points, and various items!"

"Nice," Harumi said. "Now, let’s head ba—"

She froze. She could sense multiple presences approaching quickly. She turned around just as two figures burst through the treeline.

"Harumi!"

It was her brothers. They skidded to a halt, their eyes going wide as they took in the scene—the destruction, the fallen beasts, and their little sister standing there looking completely unharmed, radiating power.

"Little sister?" Shiro breathed out. "You… you did all this?"

Harumi blinked, then gave them a sheepish smile. "Uh… hi guys. Fancy seeing you here."

Jinho walked forward, his eyes scanning her face, looking for any sign of injury. Finding none, he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. Then, his expression softened, filled with a mixture of pride, relief, and overwhelming love.

"We were worried," he said simply.

"We didn’t know you could use magic like that," Shiro added, walking up to her and gently touching her arm, as if to confirm she was real. "It’s… incredible."

Harumi looked at them, really looked at them. She could see the sincerity in their eyes, the regret, the love. The time for secrets was over.

She took a deep breath. "There’s a lot you don’t know, brothers. About me, about this world, about what’s going to happen."

She looked them straight in the eye. "I know you remember. I know you’re reborn, just like I am."

The brothers froze, shock written all over their faces.

"You… you know?" Jinho whispered.

Harumi nodded. "Yes. And I know everything you did, everything you tried to do to protect me in the past. And I know how sorry you are."

She reached out and took both their hands. "But you don’t need to be sorry anymore. We’re all back here together. And this time, we’re going to do things right. We’re going to survive. Together."

Tears welled up in Shiro’s eyes, and even Jinho’s composure cracked. They pulled her into a tight hug, holding her as if they were afraid she would disappear if they let go.

"We promise," Jinho choked out. "We will never let anything happen to you again. Never."

As they stood there in the forest, the bonds between them reforged stronger than ever, they were unaware of another pair of eyes watching them from the shadows.

Demetrius Romano stood hidden behind a large tree, his expression unreadable as he looked at the scene. He saw the way they held her, the way she smiled at them.

Jealousy flared hot and sharp in his chest, but he suppressed it.

"So," he murmured lowly. "Her brothers are back too. And they remember. Interesting."

He smirked, a dark, dangerous expression. "They think they can protect her. They think they can keep her by their sides. How cute."

"But they are mistaken," he continued, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Because Harumi is mine. She has always been mine. And soon… soon they will understand that."

He turned and melted back into the shadows, leaving the family to their moment of reunion. The game was far from over, and everyone was playing for keeps.
