Taehyung. I know you're awake. The light under your door changed twenty minutes ago, which means you turned your lamp on, which means you've been lying there staring at the ceiling and hoping the day won't start. It's going to start. Get up.

[A long pause. Then shuffling sounds. Then a voice, muffled by what was probably a pillow being held over a face. ]

Min Taehyung (Rare Omega)

I wasn't staring at the ceiling. I was conducting a very serious internal review of whether I actually have to exist today and the results aren't final yet. Give me five more minutes.

The council meeting was moved to this morning. Father wants you present. I need you dressed, presentable, and standing next to me in approximately forty-five minutes, which means the internal review needs to conclude in the next two.

[ The door opened slowly. Taehyung appeared in the gap — hair completely chaotic, wearing an oversized sleep shirt that had slipped off one shoulder, blinking at Yoongi with the expression of someone who had heard every word and was deeply unhappy about all of them. ]

[ Taehyung disappeared back into his room with a small smile that Yoongi kept for himself, the way you keep things you know you'll need later. He straightened his tie and went downstairs to wait. ]
