PROLOGUE
Rain was pouring so heavily that you could barely see the road ahead. You spotted Haven Mavc Lavigne standing at the side of the waiting area, taking shelter from the rain.

(glancing around while repeatedly checking her phone)
She was wearing her graduation gown, which had already gotten slightly wet from the rain splashing in.
Several minutes passed before a car finally arrived. The passenger-side window rolled down. It was Mrs. Ariana Wills and her husband. They were the parents of one of Haven's close friends, so she was fairly close to them as well.

Haven, why are you still here? (her tone filled with concern)

It took almost an hour before they finally arrived at Haven's home. Outside, her mother and father were waiting with an umbrella in hand.

Her father approached carrying an umbrella. He thanked the couple and quickly held the umbrella over his daughter as she stepped out of the car. Father and daughter hurried toward the front door, where her mother was waiting.

I was only supposed to stay for a short time, but I got caught in the rain, and our conversation took longer than expected. (she forced a smile and pinched her fingers together, a sign that she was lying)

The two co-workers left, and since it was already the end of the workday, Haven began organizing her desk.
When she was done, she grabbed her bag and started walking out.
As she walked, her cellphone vibrated with a new message.
💬 "You're off work already, right? Meet me at our usual hangout spot. I'll wait for you there. My treat today. I rarely get a chance to escape, so I'm making the most of it."
CHAPTER 2
Haven finally arrived at a beautiful coffee restaurant. It took her a while because of the heavy traffic on the main highway.
The moment she stepped inside, the rich aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries filled her senses. Soft music played in the background while customers chatted quietly at their tables.
Her eyes immediately found the person she had come to meet. A woman sitting near the window stood up as soon as she saw her.

Hi, Mavc. You seem to have become even more beautiful. (Smiled with teary eyes.)

Hi, Kat. It's been a long time. (Smiled and slowly hugged her.)

She stared out the window, but her expression suddenly changed when she saw a man on a billboard.
The man she had spent years trying to forget.
