SILENT LOVE

Encouragement

*Yoongi was the tough and strong captain of his basketball team. He had a lot of pressure on him because of some family issues due to stress and pressure he couldn't t perform well. Some of his fans were also disappointed.*

Today was the last day of the tournament, but he lost again. His teammates and even his coach insulted him infrontofwhole school . Feeling angry and frustrated, he walked away and stood near a cherry blossom tree. As he stood there, he saw an innocent-looking girl walking toward him. She handed him a bottle of water.

"I don't need your pity. Leave me alone!" he threw the bottle harshly and looked her she didn't say anything. she picked up the abandoned bottle, and they placed that on nearby bech. after few seconds, she titled her head toward the bottel. he noticed her gesture and followed it. "What are you saying i should drink it?" he asked, his voice still cold. she nodded slightly in response. He crossed his arms and looked at her for a moment. his expression was still cold, but his eyes softened a little. "You want me to drink this water?" he looked at the bottle again, then back at her "fine, " he said finally. he walked over the bench and picked up the bottle, then drank the water, feeling the cool liquid soothing his throat. she stepped closer to him and extended her hand, holding a note. he took the note. she turned back and left. He opened the folded paper "don't be dishearted you gave your not everytime success knocks on your door sometimes we should have accept defeat. next, give your best. Come back stronger and better. "....he watched her walk away he was stunned by her words. nobody had ever praised him like that before. it was always accusations or insults from family and coach he looked down at the note over and over again, "Give your best. Comeback stronger and better, " her words echo in his mind.....

At night he was laying on his bed that note in his hand...he was staring at the note..replaying his encounter with that stranger girl.....he ran his hand in his hair "ahhhh what the hell...why she's in ky mind....." I huffed then stood up "I need some fresh air come on yoongi you're just....uhhh" I grabbed his hood from the room chair then left his room... he came downstairs saw his parents sitting in living...he was about to leave when his father called his name "yoongi wait!!!" his father said in cold voice.. he turned back with annoying face "what?" I barked back "you forget how to answer when someone call you especially your father?" he huffed then turned fully toward his father "what...why you called me?" he said in respective tone "can I go now i need some fresh air?" his father looked at him for moments then noded "don't stay late come back before 10" yoongi left

Curiosity

Week passed. The cherry blossom tree near the court was now lush and blooming, petals drifting to the ground where yoongi used to stand in the defeat.

He'd been training harder than ever- morning drills before sunrise, extra shots after practice. His teammates noticed it first, and his had returned.

One evening, as he walked past that same bench - now free of its water bottle but not her note(still tucked in his wallet)- he spotted a familiar figure sitting there. The same girl was drawing something quietly in a notebook.

A paused, then he approached her with uncharacteristic hesitation. "You." His voice wasn't cold this time, just firm with something like curiosity(or maybe gratitude).

She titled her head at his voice and then smiled slightly. Her smile caught him off guard - small but genuine. It was the first time he'd seen her express anything.

He waited for moments, then gestures toward her notebook, shifting his weight, "What are you drawing?" He wasn't too demanding. he just sounded curious.

(Internaly: Why is she even here? And does that bother me so much?)

She just shook her head, closing the book.

He huffed softly, frustration flickering in his eyes. She was being so elusive, so secretive.

But he was curious in spite of himself. He stepped closer, standing directly over her now. "Why won't you show me? It's just a drawing." There was undercut impatient in his tone but beneath a hint of pleading.

She gave him side eye look, shaking her head as 'nothing special'.

He puffed. This stubborn silence was infuriating- but he didn't walk away. Instead, he reached down and snatched the book from her hands. She stared at him at his sudden act. He flipped it open to the latest sketch - freezing at what he saw. He stumbled on his feet.

(A DETAILED DRAWING OF HIM. NOT AS CAPTAIN, NOT MID-GAME....but slumped under that cherry blossom tree defeated)

His grip on the notebook loosened slightly. "You....we're watching me then?" His voice came out quieter than intended.

She shook her head vigorously, scratching his back of the neck. His brow furrowed. It was like catching smoke on his hands - he could never seem to pin her down.

He let out a frustrated breath and sat down beside her, dropping the book between them with an unceremonious plop.

As they sat there, the sky shifted from violet to indigo, stars just beginning to gleam. The park around them was now darker, quieter...more intimate..

Yoongi finally broke the silence. "w-why did you draw me?"

She slightly slipped the book in her bag, then shrugged her shoulder like it's normal.

He caught the movement. The way she hid the book like it was something to be ashamed of. It stung, even if he didn't understand why.

She was about to stand up and leave. Without thinking, his hand shot out and grabbed her wrist - not rough but firm enough to stop her from walking away.

"I asked you something, answer me." His voice was low now; not a demanding but something closer to desperation. "You don't get to just-just...watch me fall apart and then leave--" he paused for a moment when she looked at him constantly "its not like I- I'm- j-just because I don't like being- I don't want someone pity yeah." He noded at his own statement, trying to convince her on his lane excuse.

Her stillness unnerved him. He could feel the pulse in her wrist-- steady, unshaken by his grip.

Something in his chest twisted. Was he being too harsh? Maybe.

"Fine." He released her wrist abruptly, shoving a hand through his hair instead as if to physically push back the frustration building inside him. "You don't have - i mean, if you don't want to talk to me," he muttered, "but at least....don't act like I'm nothing to you." She looked down at her wrist where his hand was holding her, and then she smiled unknowingly. She stood up and left. He watched her leave her smile, and her backpack slung over her shoulder. His hand tinged from her wrist. A huff. A clenched jaw. A muttered curse . "What the hell is wrong with me....?" As a Park fell quieter, yoongi remained there- staring into darkness.

Disappointment

Next day at school, morning light filtered through the classroom window as Yoongi slumped in his seat , basketball tucked under his desk. He hadn't slept well- too busy replaying yesterday's encounter.

He stretched his neck then he saw her. Sitting quietly at the back, the same damn shy smile on her face when their eyes accidentally met.

He grip tightened around a pen until it snapped. "You." The word came out harsher than intended- but there was no hiding how flustered he looked now that she'd ambushed him in day light. "What does that mean she's my classmate?" He shook his head in disbelief staring at her. She pressed her lips together looking outside the window. "Am I dumb-or stupid?" He asked to himself jabbing his finger into his chest. He watched her avoid his gaze, irritation rising in him. "How could she be so impassive after yesterday?" He muttered.

In a single fluid motion, he pushed his chair back and made his way to her. Standing over her, he said gruffly, "Look at me."

Her eyes met his- calm, unreadable. He exhaled sharply through his nose leaning donw slightly so only she could hear him "you don't get to just...do that and walk away." He paused voice dropped lower, "Not unless you meant it." (What the hell I'm even saying)

She narrowed her eyes on his words, question flickering in her eyes(Do what?)

He caught the flicker of confusion and question and for a second, Yoongi wondered if he'd misread everything.

He straightened up abruptly, jaw clenched." Forget it.". Turning on his heel to leave....but then stopping mid-step.

"That smile," he muttered jabbing finger towrad her "it was mocking me yesterday?" She immediately shook her head. He heard her soft denial again- the tightness on his shoulders lessened a little as he slowly turned back dropping his hand on his side facing her. He watched as she fumbled in her backpack for something, finally pulling out a small notebook. With a shaky hand, she offered it to him. Yoongi took the book. He opened it carefully, flipping through the pages. The sighed looking at him (it wasn't mockery)

The notebook was filled with more pictures. Some were just patterns, doodles, or little observations...but many-most-were of him. Not just one the court or during the games.

Cherry blossom tree.

His dark hair falling onto his forehead. His brow furrowed in concentration. His hands trembled slightly as he leafed through the book.

He stopped on a page- one where he was laughing one of his teammates said. He'd been caught unawares, his guard down. The of himself, so open and free made him something in his chest. His eyes darting back into hers. She was watching him, waiting for him reaction.

She waggle her eye brow then extended her hand to get back the notebook. For a moment he didn't hand the book back. Not yet.

His felt heavy, mind racing, that open, vulnerable look on the pages was so different from the tough captain he usually was. He didn't like feeling exposed infront of someone like this. He came out of his thoughts when she took book from his hands.

Without warning he snatched book from her hands then opened fresh blank page. He grabbed his pen and scrawled in messy handwriting

"THEN TELL ME WHAT THAT SMILE MEANT?"

A beat passd as he slid the book toward her again- waiting. "That was just a normal smile like others" he stared down at her answer brow furrowing. "Just a smile."

He leaned in a bit "you-you call that normal?" He asked looking in her eyes "it looked mocking."

She shook ner head.

"You saw me at my lowest. You watched me break. Then you come here with your-your stupid normal smiles and act piek it never happened?" She narrowed her eyes then snatched the book from his hands then left the classroom angrily.

The way she stormed out of room no one expected that from her. Their classmates exchanged glances from across the room. One of them whistled low under his breath "Damn, Captain.."

Yoongi ignored them slumping back into his seat . Replaying the moment she snapped- her anger so human, so unlike all those quiet stares before.
