The the whole city of New Haven knew two things for absolute certain:
First — Serena Voss was the most dangerous person alive. At twenty-two years old, she was the sole heir to the Voss crime syndicate, a woman who had inherited her father’s cold ruthlessness, her mother’s striking beauty, and a reputation that made grown men tremble. She was beautiful in the way a blade was beautiful — sharp, polished, and deadly. Her expression was almost always one of bored, icy disdain; her words were short, rude, and cutting; and her mercy was something she gave to absolutely no one. Anyone foolish enough to cross her, or even look at what belonged to her, usually ended up dead or wishing they were.
Second — The terrifying Ice Queen of the Underworld belonged entirely to one person, and that person was the complete opposite of everything she was.
His name was Liam Hale. He was twenty-one years old, exactly one year her junior, a final-year literature student at the city’s prestigious university, and the sweetest, softest soul to ever walk this earth. He was the kind of boy who apologized when someone else bumped into him, who fed stray cats behind the library, who spoke in a gentle, quiet voice, and who blushed bright pink if anyone so much as paid him a simple compliment. He was an Omega — soft, pliant, naturally submissive — and he wore his heart openly on his sleeve. And from the moment Serena had first laid eyes on him, lost and looking for a classroom in the university hallway during her rare visit, she had decided one thing with absolute certainty: He is mine. Every part of him. Forever.
No one understood it. How could the woman who ordered executions without blinking, who tortured traitors with her own hands, who ruled the criminal underworld with an iron fist, be so utterly, hopelessly devoted to a shy, polite college boy who couldn’t even hurt a fly? But anyone who dared to question it or — worse — tried to get too close to Liam, quickly learned the painful, bloody answer.
Serena was possessive to a terrifying degree. It wasn’t just a feeling for her; it was a fundamental law of the universe. Liam belonged to her. His smile, his laugh, his time, his body, his attention — every single piece of him was her property, and no one else was allowed to touch, look at, or speak to him more than strictly necessary.
She had installed cameras all over his apartment and even discreetly around the university campus. She paid off his professors and his classmates, making sure everyone knew the single most important rule: Liam Hale is under the protection of Serena Voss. Do not touch him. Do not flirt with him. Do not keep him talking for too long. If you value your life, remember who he belongs to.
Most people obeyed instantly. They saw the way Serena looked at her boyfriend whenever she picked him up from class — cold, predatory, eyes burning with dark ownership — and they backed away quickly. But sometimes… sometimes people were stupid.

It was a rainy Thursday afternoon when it happened. Serena was in the middle of a meeting with her top lieutenants, discussing a rival gang that had been encroaching on their territory, when her phone pinged. It was the alert from the camera feed outside Liam’s literature classroom. She didn’t even excuse herself before she grabbed her phone, her eyes scanning the screen, and instantly, the air in the room dropped several degrees colder.
On the screen, Liam was standing by the door, his books held tight against his chest, a soft, sweet smile on his face. Standing far too close to him was a male classmate — some stupid boy with messy hair and a too-confident grin — leaning into Liam’s space, his hand resting casually on Liam’s arm as he laughed at something. Liam, being the kind, polite boy he was, hadn’t pulled away. He was just standing there, smiling that lovely, soft smile that only belonged to Serena, letting another man touch him, let another man make him laugh.
The sound of Serena cracking the screen of her expensive phone under her grip echoed loudly around the room. Her men froze, terrified, as she stood up slowly, her face completely blank, her eyes burning with a terrifying, dark fire.
“Meeting adjourned,” she said, her voice low and deadly, sharp as broken glass. “And send someone to take care of Mr. Carter. Permanently. He touched what is mine.”
She didn’t wait for a response. She walked out of the room, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor, her mind already filled with dark, hungry thoughts. How dare he? How dare anyone touch him? How dare Liam let them? He knows the rules. He knows he is only allowed to look at me, speak to me, smile for me alone. He needs to be reminded. He needs to learn his lesson again.
She was waiting by the entrance of the building when Liam walked out twenty minutes later. The moment he saw her, leaning against her black sports car, her arms crossed over her chest, her expression colder than ice, his smile faltered. He knew that look. He knew exactly what it meant. He lowered his head instantly, his cheeks turning pink with nervousness, his steps slowing as he approached her.
“S-Serena,” he whispered softly, his voice trembling just a little. “You… you came early.”
“Get in the car,” she ordered, her tone sharp, giving him absolutely no room to argue. She opened the passenger door for him, but her grip on the frame was tight enough to bend the metal.
Liam nodded quickly, scrambling inside, sitting as still as possible, his hands folded neatly in his lap. He didn’t speak again until the car had pulled away and they were driving towards her large, heavily guarded penthouse.

“Did you have a good day, my love?” he asked timidly, trying to break the heavy, suffocating silence.
Serena didn’t even look at him. Her hands gripped the steering wheel like she wanted to tear it apart. “Who was that boy, Liam?”
The question was quiet, but the threat in it was deafening. Liam swallowed hard, his face turning bright red. “W-Which boy? You mean… Julian? He’s just… just a classmate, Serena. We were talking about the assignment, that’s all. He didn’t mean anything.”
“He touched you.” Serena’s voice dropped lower, rough with jealousy and rage. “He put his filthy hands on my arm. He made you laugh. I saw you, Liam. You smiled at him. That smile is mine. Your skin is mine. Every single reaction of yours belongs to me alone. Do you think I allow other people to take what is mine?”
“I-I’m sorry,” Liam whispered, his eyes filling with tears. He knew he had been careless. He knew how she was, how fiercely she claimed everything about him. “I didn’t think… I didn’t mean to make you angry. I just didn’t want to be rude. I’m sorry, Serena. Truly.”
“Sorry isn’t enough.” She turned her head just enough to glare at him, her eyes dark and hungry. “You belong to me, Liam. Every inch of you. And when you forget that… when you let others think they can have even a tiny piece of what is mine… I have to punish you. I have to remind you exactly who you belong to, until you can’t think of anyone else but me.”
Liam shivered, but there was no real fear in his heart — not of her, anyway. He knew exactly what that meant. He knew that when Serena got like this, consumed by jealousy and possessiveness, the only way to calm her down was to let her take control completely, to let her mark him over and over again until every part of him smelled of her, until his voice was hoarse from screaming her name, until he was too exhausted and overwhelmed to even remember anyone else existed. And truth be told… he loved it. He loved being claimed by her. He loved that no matter what, she wanted him with such terrifying intensity. He nodded obediently, lowering his eyes.
“I understand, Serena. I’ll take my punishment. Whatever you think is right.”
The drive after that was silent, heavy with anticipation and dark desire. The moment the elevator doors to her penthouse slid shut behind them, Serena moved. She locked the door behind her, and then she was on him, her hands grabbing his waist, shoving him roughly against the wall, her body pressing hard against his. She didn’t kiss him gently like she usually did. This time, her mouth crashed against his, hard, demanding, possessive, her tongue pushing past his lips instantly, claiming his mouth thoroughly, like she wanted to consume him entirely.
Liam melted instantly against her, his hands clutching the lapels of her jacket, his body pliant and willing, letting her take whatever she wanted.
“You are mine,” she growled against his skin, biting hard on the soft, sensitive spot right where his neck met his shoulder — hard enough to leave a mark that would last for days, a dark, bruising claim that everyone would see. “Mine. Mine. Mine. Do you understand? I don’t care if they are classmates, or teachers, or anyone else. You do not let them touch you. You do not smile at them like that. You belong only to me.”
“I know,” Liam gasped, his head falling back, giving her better access, his whole body trembling with excitement and submission. “I know, Serena. I’m sorry. I’ll be good. I promise.”
“Too late for promises now, sweet boy,” she whispered, her hands already moving, tearing at his clothes with rough, impatient fingers, not caring if buttons flew or fabric ripped. “You need to be taught a lesson. You need a night so wild, so rough, so completely mine, that you will never, ever dare let anyone else get close to you again.”
And true to her word, she gave him exactly that night.
It was hours of overwhelming, consuming pleasure, rough and fierce and utterly possessive. Serena took him everywhere — against the wall, over the back of the sofa, on the floor, finally carrying him to her huge bed. She was merciless. She didn’t let him rest. She didn’t let him look away from her face for even a second. Every touch was firm, claiming; every kiss was hard and biting; every word she whispered against his skin was a reminder of who owned him. She marked every inch of his pale skin with dark bruises and love bites, visible marks that told the whole world exactly who he belonged to.
