The Villain's Bunny
Death Was Unexpected
Jungkook had always believed that hard work would eventually pay off.
For five years, she had worked at one of the largest marketing companies in the city. While others spent their lunch breaks gossiping, she spent hers reviewing reports. While others left the office on time, she stayed late. She was the employee everyone relied on whenever a project was difficult, a deadline was impossible, or a client was demanding.
Unfortunately, she was also the employee everyone took advantage of.
Jungkook sat alone in the office long after sunset, staring at the glowing screen of her laptop. The city lights outside the large windows sparkled like distant stars, but she barely noticed them. Her eyes burned from exhaustion.
On her desk sat three empty coffee cups.
She had been awake for nearly twenty hours.
The presentation she was working on wasn't even hers.
Her manager had dumped it on her at the last minute.
Again.
Jungkook sighed heavily and rubbed her temples and muttered.
Jungkook
One day, I'm going to quit and disappear to a beach somewhere."
No one heard her.
No one ever did.
The office had become silent hours ago.
Only the sound of keyboard clicks remained.
A few minutes later, her phone vibrated.
She glanced down and saw a message from her coworker.
minji
"Jungkook, thank you for helping with the project! You're a lifesaver!"
Jungkook Snorted.
Helping?
She had done almost the entire project herself.
But this wasn't unusual.
Every time a project succeeded, someone else got the credit.
Every time something failed, the blame somehow found its way back to her desk.
Still, she smiled bitterly.
That was life.
Or so she thought.
At midnight, she finally completed the presentation.
With trembling fingers, she emailed the files and leaned back in her chair.
Finished.
At last.
Her body felt heavy.
Her eyes closed for a moment.
Just a moment.
When she opened them again, it was almost one in the morning.
The office was completely dark except for the emergency lights.
Jungkook groaned.
Her neck hurt.
Her back hurt.
Everything hurt.
She packed her things and headed toward the elevator.
The building felt eerie at night.
Empty hallways stretched endlessly before her.
The elevator doors opened with a soft ding.
She stepped inside.
The ride down was quiet.
Too quiet.
As she stared at her reflection in the polished metal walls, she suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of sadness.
Twenty-four years old.
No family nearby.no close friends.
no boyfriend.
No hobbies.
Only work.
Was this really the life she wanted?
The elevator reached the Ground Floor.
The doors opened
Jungkook stepped outside.
Rain poured from the sky.
She sighed again.
She opened her umbrella and started walking toward the bus stop.
The streets were nearly empty.
Only a few cars passed by.
The rain soaked the city in silver light.
Jungkook checked her phone while waiting for the crossing signal.
Another message appeared.
This time from a company group chat.
Her eyes narrowed.
A new announcement had been posted.
The project she had completed.
The project she had sacrificed her entire week for.
The project she had nearly collapsed finishing.
Someone else's name was attached to it.
Not hers.
Her manager was publicly congratulating another employee.
The coworker who had done almost nothing.
The coworker who had spent most of the week scrolling social media.
For a few seconds, Jungkook simply stared at the screen.
Then She laughed.
A quiet laugh. not because it was funny.Because she was tired.
So very tired.Her hands trembled.
Her chest felt tight.
Five years.
Five years of effort.
Five years of loyalty.
Five years of being overlooked.
And for what?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
The crossing signal changed.
People began walking.
Jungkook stepped forward automatically.
Her eyes remained fixed on her phone.
Another message appeared.
This time from the coworker receiving all the praise.
"Thanks everyone! I worked really hard on this project!"
Something inside Jungkook cracked.
Not anger.
Not jealousy.
Just disappointment.
A deep, crushing disappointment.
She lowered her phone slowly.
Rain dripped from her umbrella.
Cars moved through the intersection.
Headlights blurred through the storm.
Then—
A horn blared.
Loud.
Sharp.
Terrifying.
Jungkook looked up.
A truck was speeding toward the crosswalk.
Far too fast.
Far too close.
For a split second, time seemed to stop.
She saw frightened faces.
She heard screams.
She felt cold rain on her skin.
And strangely enough—
Her final thought wasn't fear.
It wasn't regret.
It wasn't even sadness.
It was annoyance.
Jungkook
"Seriously?"
"This is how I die?"
"After finishing someone else's presentation?
The truck struck.
Everything went dark.
Silence.
No pain.
No sound.
Nothing.
Jungkook floated through endless darkness.
She couldn't feel her body.
Couldn't open her eyes.
Couldn't move.
Was she dead?
The thought drifted through her mind.
Oddly enough, she felt calm.
Maybe because she had been exhausted long before dying.
A soft mechanical sound suddenly echoed through the darkness.
A bright blue screen appeared.
Jungkook blinked.
Or at least she thought she blinked.
A glowing message floated before her.
System
"TRANSMIGRATION SUCCESSFUL
HOST DETECTED
SOUL STABILIZATION COMPLETE "
System
"WELCOME, HOST JUNGKOOK."
Jungkook
"What kind of weird dream is this?"
System
"YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED."
Jungkook
"...Selected for what?"
System
"REINCARNATION PROGRAM ACTIVATED."
System
"NEW WORLD ASSIGNED."
Jungkook
"...Absolutely not."
System
"NOVEL WORLD: THE FALL OF THE COLD CEO"
Silence.
Jungkook frowned.
That title sounded familiar.
Very familiar.
Too familiar.
Then realization hit her.
Her eyes widened.
That was the novel she had been reading before work every night.
A ridiculously dramatic CEO novel.
A tragic villain.
Family betrayal.Corporate warfare.
A manipulative stepbrother.
An ending that had frustrated her for weeks.the villain had lost everything.
His company. His health. His reputation. His life.
And somehow the novel expected readers to celebrate because the "hero" won.
Jungkook had hated that ending.
Now the system was telling her she was inside it?
Jungkook
"No."
"No."
"No, thank you."
"I would like a refund."
The blue screen ignored her.
System
"TRANSFERRING HOST..."
Everything exploded into white light.
The next thing Jungkook felt was warmth.
Softness.
Comfort.
For a moment she thought she was alive again.
Then she noticed something strange.
Very strange.
Her body felt...small.
Extremely small.
Her arms felt wrong.
Her legs felt wrong.
Everything felt wrong.
Slowly, she opened her eyes.
The world appeared enormous.
Gigantic.
Terrifyingly gigantic.
A wooden wall towered above her.
A giant water bottle stood nearby.
A mountain of hay occupied one corner.
Jungkook blinked
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Then she looked down.
White fur.
Tiny paws.
Fluffy tail.
Long rabbit ears.
A horrifying realization crawled into her brain.
Slowly.
Painfully.
She raised one tiny paw.
The paw raised.
She screamed.
Except it came out as:
Bunny (Jungkook)
"Squeak!"
Jungkook froze.
Her eyes widened.
She looked around desperately.
Then at herself.
Then at her reflection in the water bowl.
A tiny white bunny stared back.
Beautiful.
Round.
Fluffy.
Absolutely adorable.
And completely not human.
Several seconds passed.
Then ten.
Then twenty.
Then finally—
The bunny collapsed dramatically onto the floor.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(I DIED!
I GOT HIT BY A TRUCK!
AND NOW I'M A RABBIT!
WHAT KIND OF UNFAIR REBIRTH IS THIS)
Somewhere in the distance, an invisible system cheerfully chimed.
System
"WELCOME TO YOUR NEW LIFE, HOST."
Jungkook buried her tiny face in her paws.
This was going to be a very long life.
Why Am I Furry?
The first thing Jungkook did after accepting the horrifying reality that she had become a rabbit was deny it.
Completely.
Absolutely.
With every ounce of determination she had.
(No.)
She stared at her reflection in the water bowl.
The reflection stared back.
A fluffy white bunny with round cheeks, pink ears, bright eyes, and soft snow-white fur.
The rabbit blinked.
Jungkook blinked.
The rabbit raised a paw.
Jungkook raised a paw.
The rabbit looked horrified.
Jungkook looked horrified.
Then she immediately turned around
Bunny (Jungkook)
(I refuse.)
This was clearly a dream.
A very strange dream.
A very fluffy dream.
But still a dream.
There was absolutely no way she had died, been reincarnated into a novel, and become a rabbit.
That was ridiculous.
Completely ridiculous.
She had read hundreds of novels.
People got reincarnated as villains.
Princesses.
Dukes' daughters.
Powerful mages.
Even dragons.
But a rabbit?
A rabbit?!
What kind of discount transmigration package had she received?
Jungkook marched across her cage in outrage.
Or at least she tried to march.
Instead, she accidentally bounced.
Her tiny body launched several inches into the air.
She landed face-first in a pile of hay.
The hay tasted surprisingly good.
She spat it out immediately.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(I am not accepting this.)
Determined to prove she was still human, Jungkook stood on her hind legs.
She attempted to stretch.
Instead, she wobbled.
Then tipped over.
Then rolled.
Then crashed directly into her water bowl.
Splash.
Cold water soaked her fur.
For several seconds she remained frozen.
Dripping.
Humiliated.
Offended.
Then she screamed.
Or tried to.
What came out was:
Bunny (Jungkook)
"Squeeeeeak!"
Jungkook's soul nearly left her body again.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(WHY DO I SOUND LIKE THAT?)
Bunny (Jungkook)
(STOP SQUEAKING)
More squeaks.
She buried her face in her tiny paws.
This was a nightmare.
A fluffy nightmare.
Several minutes later, Jungkook finally calmed down enough to inspect her surroundings.
She appeared to be inside a pet shop.
Rows of cages surrounded her.
Birds chirped.
Hamsters ran on wheels.
A sleepy cat yawned from a nearby corner.
The scent of pet food filled the air.
Jungkook's ears drooped.
A pet shop.
She was in a pet shop.
Which meant—
Someone could buy her.
The realization struck like lightning.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(No.)
(No no no.)
She pressed both paws against the cage bars.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(Absolutely not.)
She had standards.
She had dignity.
She had once filed tax reports.
She could not spend the rest of her life being carried around in someone's handbag.
A child suddenly appeared in front of her cage.
Jungkook froze.
The child stared at her.
She stared back.
The child squealed.
child
"Oh my gosh! Mommy! This bunny is so cute!"
Jungkook immediately backed away.
Danger.
Tiny human detected.
The child's mother approached.
childs mother
"Aww, she is adorable."
The child pressed her face against the glass.
Jungkook felt genuine terror.
No.
Not this child.
The kid looked like the type to dress rabbits in princess outfits.
She wasn't strong enough for that.
Fortunately, the mother shook her head.
childs mother
"No more pets."
The child whined.
Jungkook nearly cried from relief.
Thank goodness.
A narrow escape.
The child eventually left.
Jungkook collapsed dramatically.
She had survived.
Barely.
As the day passed, dozens of customers visited the pet shop.
Every single one made Jungkook nervous.
A teenager wanted a rabbit.
A couple wanted a rabbit.
An elderly woman wanted a rabbit.
Apparently rabbits were incredibly popular.
Why?
What was so special about rabbits?
Besides being adorable.
And fluffy.
And—
She refused to compliment herself.
Even if she was objectively very cute.
Hours later, the pet shop quieted down.
Sunlight streamed through the windows.
Jungkook sat in her cage while contemplating her miserable existence.
At least she was alive.
Sort of.
That counted for something.
Maybe.
She sighed.
Then immediately got distracted by her own ears.
They were surprisingly soft.
Jungkook grabbed one.
Stared at it.
Wiggled it.
Touched it again.
Okay
Maybe being fluffy wasn't completely terrible.
Just mostly terrible.
Suddenly—
A familiar blue screen appeared in front of her.
Jungkook jumped.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(What now)
System
WELCOME HOST JUNGKOOK.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(I know who I am)
System
CURRENT STATUS
Species: White Rabbit
Humanity Progress: 0%
Transformation Ability: Locked
Special Mission: Survive
Jungkook stared.
Then stared harder.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(Excuse me)
Bunny (Jungkook)
(Species: White Rabbit)
The system remained silent.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(Why is that written like it's permanent)
System
IT IS CURRENTLY PERMANENT.
System
HUMAN FORM CAN BE RESTORED.
Her ears immediately stood up.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(Really )
System
CONDITIONS MUST BE MET.
Bunny (Jungkook)
(Anything."
"I'll do anything.)
System
MISSION REQUIREMENT: RECEIVE KISSES FROM THE VILLAIN CEO.
Silence.
Pure silence.
The entire pet shop seemed to pause.
Jungkook blinked once.
Twice.
Three times.
Then she pointed at herself.
Bunny (Jungkook)
("A rabbit?")
System
The system glowed.
CORRECT.
Bunny (Jungkook)
("You want a rabbit to get kissed by a CEO?")
Bunny (Jungkook)
("Do you hear yourself?")
Jungkook fell over.
Again.
This system was insane.
Completely insane.
She had been reincarnated as a rabbit.
Inside a novel.
And now she needed kisses to become human again.
What kind of absurd story was this?
Before she could continue arguing—
The bell above the pet shop door rang.
Ding.
The atmosphere instantly changed.
Every employee straightened.
Every customer looked nervous.
Even the pet shop owner suddenly seemed tense.
Jungkook blinked.
What was happening?
Heavy footsteps echoed through the shop.
Slow.
Measured.
Powerful.
A man entered.
Tall.
Broad-shouldered.
Dressed entirely in black.
His expression was cold.
Unreadable.
His presence alone made the room silent.
Jungkook's eyes widened.
No way.
She recognized him immediately.
Kim Taehyung.
The villain CEO.
The future tragedy of the novel.
The man destined to lose everything.
The man she now apparently needed kisses from.
The system chimed happily.
Jungkook stared.
Then slowly looked at the system.
Then back at Taehyung.
Then back at the system.
The system remained cheerful.
Jungkook buried her face in her paws.
Her suffering had only just begun.
